Thanks for the info. Does sending images make sense or are they specialized in video mostly ?

How much do you get from 1 video download and from 1 image download ? Thousands of downloads that you report seem very positive.

I wasnt looking for advice, just genuinely curious about what you meant by monetizing stock videos on YouTube. Were you referring to creating content that teaches others 'how to make money with microstock', or did you mean publishing videos in the hopes of attracting a large audience?

May I ask you how do you imagine earning money on Youtube with stock video content ?

You should ask yourself that question. Look for examples, how do people with similar content or skills as yours get their Youtube channel monetized and start from there. Learn new skills if needed.

Personally I don't do any video at all and I'm still too busy with other topics (not stock, that's just side hustle with maybe 5 hours per month investment, which also includes this forum ). But in future I want to start doing video and will look into monetizing Youtube.

All my plans for the year are broken.

I did not imagine that Adobe would abruptly break their relationship with creators and implement a random upload algo.

I am switching to video for Adobe, but it takes a long time for video to start selling.

The year started very well, January - April I had increases of 60-84% compared to the year before.

But my plan rests on files reinforcing each other. I upload small volumes, but it usually sells.

Now I have to deal with an algo roulette, which is beyond frustrating.

Nobody wins at this, but Adobe is doubling down that the creators are at fault.

Whoever is resposible for the random review mess is more important than the relationship with the creative community.

That is the most depressing part.

Will try to make an effort at istock and overall video, inclufing BB.

I guess this year is the Make istock great again year.

Wishing you good luck with your changed plans, but I'm afraid not much can be done by now. You are trying to win in a dying market and you build your business plan trusting in agencies you've got no control over. Sure there are some topics where lots of content is still missing, but these topics don't decide content pricing. It is the generic content, which sells well on microstock and which faces the most competition from free AI - thus I think inevitably leading to price drops for all microstock content in future.

There are other and probably better possibilities for content creators to earn, be it selling stuff on Etsy or starting a Youtube channel. Maybe look into some of these to not depend on stock too much?

May I ask you how do you imagine earning money on Youtube with stock video content ?

I just wanted to confirm a sudden drop in sales for long term high ranked contributors ...mix of real and AI
Very discouraging, must have been some change in algorithm.

Oooooooh, it's sooooo sad for AI indigestible mixture !!!!!!  :'( :'( :'(

AI is still only 20% of my port and these are not main sellers.

I just wanted to confirm a sudden drop in sales for long term high ranked contributors. In last two weeks I fell from about 150th place weekly to around 250th. Sales down from 200 a day to 140 a day.
Constant uploads, mix of real and AI. I have been at Adobe (Fotolia) since about 2008.

Very discouraging, must have been some change in algorithm.

what can I say. from 220-280 sales per day in 2017-2021. Now I have about 20-30 per day :-[. I have no idea what's going on there but the algorithm hates me.

It's getting worse from month to month in my case.

Similar here, I feel your pain.

Adobe Stock / Re: Adobe Stock 2024 Contributor Bonus

Thanks. While a few hundred isn't quite the few thousand I got last year, I still think it's fair for only last year uploads. And it's incomparable to those money-grabbers over at Shutterstock.

Around 20k including a few thousand AI generated added last year. A one-man business.
I am seeing a lot of people copying my image titles and generating AI images that are very similar to mine. They don't even bother to change even one characted in the title.

Impressive, how long are you doing this? are you still uploading new content?

15 years or so. I keep uploading on regular basis but feeling more and more discouraged. The worst thing that may happen to you is when you are in weekly top sellers. Next week all you portfolio is copied x-times by AI prompters.

I confirm, something strange is happening with Adobe this week. Sales are even worse than Easter week. Normally I have well over 200 downloads a day, today barely 100

Did you notice a sales drop from last year? I see a huge difference, and the last few weeks there is another ~20% drop in revenue...

Yes, very similar observations. And I used to be around 100th in weekly rank, now closer to 200th ...

I have not received any communication from Payoneer regarding the new 3% withdrawal fee. Could anyone copy paste here the email from Payoneer ?

Ai is useless for specifics.

It creates all kind of fantasy flowers, hybrid animals, strange underwater wildlife, a cactus from mexico growing in the sahara desert etc...

Same for locations, nothing is real.

So especially for high quality localized content, with or without people, also for food etc..nothing beats real photography.

The ai world is a fantasy world.

There is an endless amount of genuine, local content you can create and if possible add more latin names to flora and fauna, add "authentic" and more locally specific keywords and point out as much as you can that what you are shooting is real.

Very useful observations! Thanks!

How can we add extra value in today's stock photography market?
Almost everything can now be created with AI, which is continuously improving. I'm trying to find a space for myself where there is that extra value for clients. I thought maybe an option would be PNGs on Adobe Stock, but that category is also oversaturated. I'm out of ideas... are we still needed? After all, anyone can generate any image just as well as those of us who are professionally involved in stock photography.

CHatGpt, please create me portfolios at major image banks, use my artist name "IAmAnArtist". Create in a neverseenbefore way, index and submit 1,000 images a day, for the best-selling and most topical subjects. Don't forget to put "real photography" in descriptions. Connect to my neighbor's wi-fi to save my bandwidth to submit 1,000 images a day, in the best-selling and most topical subjects. Put a copy in my cloud. In a monthly basis, collect my earnings at microstockstock sites and do a transfert to my paypal account. Log on to forums and post miles of text to steal as much time as possible from competing readers. Don't forget to turn off the light after you've done all this.

Would your ChatGPT dog obey to that? or should we wait until it's better trained?

You made my day bro  ;D ;D ;D

I am sure it will be a monthly bonus. What we received now is too low to be a one time boost as Adobe paid us.

Adobe Stock / All weekly bestsellers are AI portfolios
« on: October 10, 2023, 02:58 »
Wow, it seems like the weekly bestsellers page (in Photos) is now exclusively showcasing AI portfolios. This highlights the immense competition that traditional photographers have to face now. Where does this lead to ?

I believe about $1000 to be a fair price for 5 sets, not less.

Banana mission update  :)

photos taken 3022

topics completed 47

needless to say,I have never taken all these photos in such a short time.

everything is going well, now I'm going to shoot 2 more topics, then I'll close tomorrow morning with a series of shots on different surfaces randomly, however there are still 2 whole days left.

I think 300 USD for 5 sets is a fair price, but certainly no less, perhaps Adobe for the next missions could think of a type of rewards that increase as more sets are completed,or to an extra bonus if you complete all sets.

Thanks Danny,

When will you share the details with us on how those royalties will be distributed ?

Hi,

Tomorrow the Canva Magic AI tool will be launched. How are contributors going to be compensated for training their AI tool ?

22
I see. Good luck and have fun :)

23
Injusticeforall, you said you estimate to complete the task in 6 days full time job. Where are you from that you feel comfortable making $300 a week?

24
Mat, what about the picture that are already in the pending queue and uploaded as illustrations ?

Yaymicro / Any update on Yayimages performance ?
« on: April 07, 2023, 04:39 »
Hi,

From now and then I receive e-mails from Yay that they intake of images is up etc. So people seem to upload there. Is anyone active with them ? What are your impressions as of 2023 ?
