Off Topic / I will never use AI
« on: November 22, 2023, 13:56 »
Many talk about selling AI images. For private use ist o.k. but not for the purpose of making money on other peoples intellectual property.

I will never use AI. Anybody else on this forum? If I would do so, I am no longer myself but a thief.

I need of a slide scanner for old Diapositives and -negatives. Any recommendations for a decent scanner plus software?

DepositPhotos / Shocking Deposit
« on: August 27, 2023, 02:17 »
Yesterday I sold 141 images at Deposit for SIX DOLLAR FIFTY.

10 cents per image is just a dream...

General Stock Discussion / Photoshop Extensions
« on: August 15, 2022, 04:04 »
Regarding Raya Pro, ADP Lumiflow, Lumi32, Lumenzia and so on: who of the professional Microstock photographers is using these Photoshop panels, which are very time consuming. Is it worth to play around with luminosity masks? considering the 10 Cents per sale.

Do On1, Lumenzia, Dx0 plugins and so on the same job, but much faster?

Which smartphone makes the best fotos? I am only interested in the quality of the camera. Thank you for your advice!

General Stock Discussion / Impact of stopping uploads

What happens if you stops uploading new images regarding the monthly income, how does is drop?

General Stock Discussion / Watch out for Zoonar spams
« on: March 03, 2021, 03:06 »
I am getting spam mails in the name of Zoonar. Zoonar says they are aware, but have no idea of how to cope with it. Anybody else affected? Did Zoonar get hacked?

What is the final goal of the protest?
How realistic are all these energy and time consuming actions?

11 / Why not accepting the 10 cent sales?
« on: July 03, 2020, 12:40 »
So far I am better off with the new price structure of SS, in spite of many 10 to 17 cent sales.

Why should I boycot SS or even close my account? Why not accepting the 10 cent sales? I do, and I dont care what will happen next year, because nobody can forsee the future.

General Stock Discussion / I will not boycot SS.
« on: June 13, 2020, 07:42 »
I will not boycot SS.

We are hitting a global economic crisis, worse than the Great Depression.

I accept, that the value of my images may drop to 10 cents.

Right now my earnings did not change. I am level 5.

How much time do you spend in this forum?.... does it pay?

General Stock Discussion / I love Shutterstock
« on: October 26, 2019, 14:20 »
I love Shutterstock. Is there anybody else who appreciate the service of SS? after reading all these hateful comments, I wonder.
SS is part of my daily bread, for me and my family.

General Stock Discussion / Getting payed for comments?
« on: June 24, 2017, 06:05 »
There is a group of people in this forum, who comment every topic every blessed day. Why would anybody spent this much time for nothing, especially those who continuously talk about their dropping sales.

General Stock Discussion / Where are the winners?
« on: March 13, 2017, 15:34 »
There must be some contributors around in this forum, who are succussful in their microstock business, who are winners, inspite of all the present problems, which we all know in million of details. I want to get inspired, and I want to learn from the peak performers. Are they in this forum at all?

I am tired to read through all the comments from the losers in this business.

Where are the winners????

General Stock Discussion / I am a happy Contributor
« on: February 21, 2017, 14:14 »
I am a happy Contributor and I got two simple reasons for that:

First: My income and wellbeing totally depends on illustrations. Compare it with a physically disabled person who totally depends on his wheelchair to move from one place to another.

Second: I am a creativity junky, I am an addict. If I dont create something new continually, I feel like being dried out like an alcoholic. I feel bad. I accept the challenge, that I have to compete with a million contributors out there. I must activate all my brain cells to be better, day by day. This is just like with any other business.

Are there more junkies out there?

Any advantage of using different pseudonyms for different agencies?

General Stock Discussion / Anybody knows patterndesign?
« on: January 11, 2017, 04:07 »
Does anybody knows this site? any experience?

Does is make sense to tell everybody his present sales figures?
I am up 25 percent...
I am down 50 percent....
I am happy...
I am pissed off...

What shall I do with this information? Any idea?

General Stock Discussion / How do you call this?
« on: December 15, 2016, 06:42 »
How do you call this? These people are ranking 21 on the Top-100 of Shutterstock Authors

this is just one example

General Stock Discussion / Microstocker Burnout Syndrom
« on: November 27, 2016, 08:16 »
How many years does it take for a microstocker to run into a burn-out syndrom?
And how to overcome it? To take a break? For how long?

How to overcome a creativity block?

Any experience?

General Macrostock / I believe in quality.
« on: November 07, 2016, 13:21 »
A good portfolio makes good money, a bad portfolio goes empty. A bad portfolio means out-dated images which do not meet the demand of the market. The consequence would be, produce better images or leave the business and not to waste valuable time with complaints, petitions or weird accusations.

General Stock Discussion / What are the most worthless Sites
« on: November 01, 2016, 11:52 »
What are the most worthless Sites?
Which agencies are just a pain in the butt?

Every photo, every illustration has a certain expiry date or call it life span. A photo with the most beautiful girl in the world with a cell phone in her hands, which is a couple of years old becomes soon or later worthless. Or think about the fast moving fashion trend, the shoes, the hair style! Every woman knows very well how outdated the outfit of a model is. Or think about the kitchen equipment if you shoot culinary photos.
How many photo will resist the revegas of time.
If you do not keep up with the times you are out. This is one reason, why photos or illustrations suddenly do not sell anymore. Is this the reason why the old folks on this forum complain all the time? because they are simple out of date?
