Adobe Stock / Is FT still selling HD videos for $3?
« on: December 01, 2015, 03:15 »
I just deactivated all videos several months ago, now received news that Adobe Stock runs with videos and the price is OK, if disabling video subs is possible, I will reconsider upload my videos to FT.

Nice little app fisherss. Can't wait to see some more agencies added.

One thing. The green font for the amount. Is it possible to change it to a different color? Extremely difficult to see on my Nexus 4.

Thanks

Is it too bright or dark ? or something else?

Is there an app like this for windows phone 8?

Sorry, I am not familiar with windows platform.

5
Nice! thanks...would be great to have something like that for the Desktop too....

There is a Firefox add-on called picNiche can do similar thing, you may want to consider that.

Neat little free app. Only issue I'm seeing is that it  is reporting my "total revenue" for Dreamstime rather than my "earnings balance."

Thank you for letting me know, I have fixed this bug, please just update from google play. The newest version is 1.2

Hi guys, I would like to introduce you my new android app called MicroStock Sales. It's completely free, I earn money from advertisement.

At this time, it's pretty simple, just check your balances of: iStock, Shutterstock, Fotolia, Dreamstime, Pond5, and calculate the total value. I have planned following functions to add but they need time:
1. Support more agents.
2. Background refresh timer.
3. Desktop widget that can show the total balance.

If you are interested, please check out:

Any questions or suggestions please send to fisherss(A)gmail.com

Thank you.

Envato / Re: Video for $5x33%=$1.65, are you kidding me ?

Envato group is just a leech, forget them or they will kill you, they are not human.

They also want to kill the whole market.

Envato / Video for $5x33%=$1.65, are you kidding me ?
« on: May 06, 2013, 22:45 »
Hi all, I saw some video clips on Envato for just $5, the contributor get $5x33%=1.65, is that true ? It's even lower than Fotolia subscription, and it's process is worse, you need to make watermarked preview by yourself.  How can they think they will get uploading with this ?

I completely understand, I was a programer, too. It's easy to say and hard to do.

What I meant is, at least we can do some quick work to get a testing video git branch, which we can improve on.

I am going to try some simple modifications, if I think something is useful, I will give you a notice to see if it need to be submitted to the code tree.

Symbiostock - Development Area / Ideas about video support
« on: May 02, 2013, 03:06 »
Hi guys, I have done some testing and research about symbiostock in my virtualbox and would like share with you about my views for video suppot.

I just noticed symbiostock doesn't store media files into database, even watermarked previews.
It stores previews in:
www/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/symbiostock_rf_content/
and final full resolution files in:
www/wordpress/symbiostock_rf/

so perhaps it makes video support more easily. My idea is, we can just add more directories like:
www/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/symbiostock_video_thumbs
www/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/symbiostock_video_previews
www/wordpress/symbiostock_video_1920x1080
www/wordpress/symbiostock_video_1280x720
The first two store thumbnails and previews, which are open to buyers, the last two(or more) store the final clips, which need payment to download.
What a videographer need to do, basically, are generating and uploading related files to above directories.

Let's have a look at this example:
You have a video clip named 2013-my-dog.mov, with 1920x1080 resolution, to get this clip online(on sale), you need to do:
1. Generate the thumbnail, preview, and low-resolution final clips. In this case, they are: 2013-my-dog.jpg 2013-my-dog.flv 2013-my-dog.mov(720 version)
2. Upload
      2013-my-dog.jpg to symbiostock_video_thumbs
      2013-my-dog.flv to symbiostock_video_previews
      2013-my-dog.mov(720 version) to symbiostock_video_1280x720
      2013-my-dog.mov(1080 version) to symbiostock_video_1920x1080
3. Tell symbiostock the index file name "2013-my-dog", attach metadata(keywors, description etc.) to this index name.
4. Publish.

For this idea, what we need to work on is making symbiostock scripts record the metadata into database and correctly show the elements on the final purchasing pages, which I am really not good at ........ so that would be very nice if any PHP programer can implement these functions.

BTW, I haven't tested, but batch processing video clips should be easy with correct tools like mencoder.

I'm in for video as well!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was already thinking...:

If we can use a shortcode for the preview the "most" work would already be done. A youtube link would work also but won't look as professional...

I don't have a problem creating my own watermarked previews.

Then the main file is uploaded as a ZIP file and a thumbnail would have to be uploaded for search results.

Would it be such a "huge" issue to include such a shortcode?

Since I'm not a professional programmer and have no clue about software development BUT knowing that computers can do ANYTHING I'd assume it would only take half an hour or so to create a solution for this...  ;D

Just yanking your chain Leo  8)

Yes, making watermarked preview clip is just very easy, I remember that you can even use mplayer/mencoder to bunch process your files in just one command line.

Video support.......... PLEASE........

BTW, I don't know PHP, but I was an embedded Linux programer and administrator, anything I can help?

BTW2, what are you using to manage source code? github?

Yes - github! And anything you can do to contribute - your welcome to invent your own spot. For instance Cascoly has used his experience (though not PHP) to help me start planning a better networking system. You may find something you are interested in to contribute, even if its something that nobody has thought of yet.

I have visited the symbiostock github page: https://github.com/orangeman555/symbiostock

Is there any introduction? I have checked out the wiki part, nothing. I am going to test symbiostock in virtualbox.

You guys have done a very nice job, I am also a video seller, can it use converted steam media like flv to show the preview? I mean, we can convert the original clips on our own machines and upload them to the website.

iStockPhoto.com / Re: Can not cancel my IS exclusivity
« on: February 18, 2013, 10:13 »
But I wouldn't wait to begin uploading elsewhere.  Once your 30 days us up, move on, even if your crown isn't gone.  That's their problem.

Good point Mantis, that's exactly what I am thinking :)

« on: February 18, 2013, 06:51 »
Hi guy, I just cancelled my exclusivity a month ago, today I was waiting for hours for the "You have cancelled your exclusivity but you are still exclusive for 1 days", now the exclusive page of IS has changed, but my status is still "Exclusive contributor", is this normal? Should I keep waiting?

Thank you.

I still think having a day where we all start deleting together would send a strong message.

Do you honestly believe that? I doubt it very much. I think personally the only person you will harm will be yourself, by dropping your income. If you're really p*** off, why not leave completely, surely that would be more positive. They must get thousands of uploads a day, many many thousands, a couple of thousand being deactivated, what will that do? I don't want to sound negative, but this is doomed to failure.

1. Do you really really believe they will still get thousands of uploads a day AFTER THE GOOGLE DEAL?

2. The deactivated images will be definitely more and more than "a couple of thousand". The count of deactivated images will constantly rise and uploading will constantly reduce, it just takes time.

3. Actually many contributors are leaving completely(from IS), cause if they choose to stay, they will be harmed more and more deep. Dropping recent income is much better than dropping the half-life income.

I would promise for 20, cause I have only 200+ photos and video online....... it's just an attitude, if getty continuously do this deal, that will be 100%. Comparing licensing my images for $12 to the world, I would like to re-find a day job.
