The more partner agencys VEER works with, the more I want an opt-out-function as well!

New Sites - General / Re: What are HP planning with snapfish?« on: May 26, 2011, 01:52 »Somebody I know said they have made a couple thousand doing designs(illustrations) on snapfish, I haven't followed up on the details yet though. That is something different. HP has a "publisher program" where designer can upload greeting cards and the like to use for customers: http://support.snapfish.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/2076 There is no "entrance fee", the designer can set the prices themselves and the like. 253
General - Stock Video / What fps sells best?« on: May 10, 2011, 03:31 »
Hello,
usually I save my footage clips for agencies from my Canon 5D Mark II as 1920 x 1080 pixel (Full HD) 25fps no sound MotionJPEG B .mov Container Now I've read at some blogs that they recommend either PhotoJPG instead of Motion JPG for footage and another frame rate, usually 29,97fps. So I am wondering: What frame rate sells best? And why? Thanks in advance, Robert 254
Shutterstock.com / Shutterstock now shows the keywords that led to a download« on: April 28, 2011, 01:55 »
Finally,
I whished long for this, now it happened: Shutterstock implemented a function that shows the keywords that led to a download for each image. You find the function in the new "Image Gallery Stats" in their "Shutterstock Darkroom". I wrote a blog post about it in German: http://www.alltageinesfotoproduzenten.de/2011/04/28/shutterstock-verraet-endlich-die-suchbegriffe-der-bildkaeufer/ Here is the automated english Google translation: http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=de&sl=auto&tl=en&u=http://www.alltageinesfotoproduzenten.de/2011/04/28/shutterstock-verraet-endlich-die-suchbegriffe-der-bildkaeufer/&twu=1 What do you think of the function? Any helpful observations made? 255
Adobe Stock / Re: Fotolia Offers Free Microstock Subscription To Bloggers« on: April 11, 2011, 05:42 »
I simply asked Fotolia about it:
Short answer: Don't worry, photographers will get paid. Long answer can be read in my blog: http://www.alltageinesfotoproduzenten.de/2011/04/11/was-ist-dran-am-kostenlosen-abo-angebot-von-fotolia-fuer-blogger/ It's in German though, english Google translation: http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=de&sl=auto&tl=en&u=http://www.alltageinesfotoproduzenten.de/2011/04/11/was-ist-dran-am-kostenlosen-abo-angebot-von-fotolia-fuer-blogger/&twu=1 Best regards, Robert 256

Shutterstock.com / Re: Are my income projections correct?« on: November 19, 2010, 04:18 »
No, this is not acurate, as many have stated.
Try to measure your MPM value as Yuri Arcurs explains here: http://www.arcurs.com/advanced-stock-photography-termology-for-photographers That will take the short half time at Shutterstock into account. Bye, Robert 260
Shutterstock.com / Re: SS Siteboost 0.28 - Total Stats, Quick Keywords Edit (in place), Referrals Check« on: November 18, 2010, 08:10 »
Hm, somehow the version 0.28 doesn't work for me.
It keeps on "wait" for days now, though I watched the spider complete all three tables (25-a-day, EL, On-Demand). My total stats keep looking like this: No flash or javascript blockers in use on the shutterstock and the polish site... Any ideas what could be wrong? Thanks in advance, Robert 261
Adobe Stock / Re: EL price change at Fotolia?« on: November 18, 2010, 03:45 »
I feel like we will loose many sales just because the XS prices from Yuri Arcurs' images have dropped from 4 to 3 credits and thus get sold more often... :-)

@Alexey: This looks nice, especially the function to view only images of a certain date range or image number range. That is helpful stuff and I'd be willing to pay 5$ to use it - if I could use it as a Firefox plugin...

This is totally great. Sure, Shutterstock should have done it themself, but as long as they don't, thank you very much for this.
One question: What does the number on the top right next to the "Refresh" word stand for? I mean on the LEFT side of "Refresh", I know that the number on the right is the minutes the tool should update stats. And why is the refresh button blinking? Thanks, Robert 266
iStockPhoto.com / Re: Images available on Thinkstock even after opting out« on: November 08, 2010, 13:04 »
I had the same problem, my images show up on Thinkstock even month after opting out.
So I sent this mail to customer support: Quote "Hello, I have found several of my images distributed over Thinkstock in the "Hemera" Collection. For example item number ___________ (Titel "_______________"). For these images I have opted out from Thinkstock at iStockphoto several month ago, but since they are not even in the "istockphoto" Collection I wonder how they got in the "Hemera" Collection. As far as I know I did not deliver these images to another Getty Images related agency. Please explain to me where the images came from. You can call me at _________________ Thanks a lot in advance, Robert" This is the answer I received: Quote "Hi Robert, So let's see if they really will disappear in a few days. Bye, Robert 267

General - Top Sites / Re: My earnings and other numbers at the Big Five Microstock Agencies« on: July 25, 2010, 08:23 »
I am not saying that there are reasons that forbid offering people images with an Extended Licence.
It is just that there are more possibilites of trouble than with a normal licence. And I don't have a problem with strange licencing patterns when it concerns images with still lifes, but when I have a model complaing too, I don't need that... Robert 271
General - Top Sites / Re: My earnings and other numbers at the Big Five Microstock Agencies« on: July 24, 2010, 14:16 »
@Luis:
whereever possible I try to deactive Extended Licenses because I feel that they are priced too low at many microstock agencies. Combined with the fact that I mostly do people shoots the risk of finding an image in use where me or the model wouldn't like the deal is higher. I can live well without ELs... :-) P.S. I already had your blog in my RSS reader... 272

General - Top Sites / Re: My earnings and other numbers at the Big Five Microstock Agencies« on: July 24, 2010, 08:13 »
@neotakezo:
The reason I have exclusive files at FT is that there were two workshops held by Fotolia that I did attend where the final images had to be uploaded exclusivly to FT. The images from the first workshop seld quite well, so I wanted to test if exclusivity had something to do with it and went exclusive with some other image series, who perfom good as well. 274
General - Top Sites / Re: My earnings and other numbers at the Big Five Microstock Agencies« on: July 24, 2010, 05:33 »
No, Affiliate earnings are not included and are not significant anyway.
But Fotolia is the only agency where I have a significant amount of exclusive images (over 500), that are sold for at least twice the money than non-exclusive images, so that might be the reason for higher earnings there. 275

I have posted my earnings, my portfolio size and other numbers from my last year in microstock at the big agencies istockphoto, Fotolia, Dreamstime, Shutterstock and 123rf. The post is in German, here is the Google Translation: http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=de&sl=auto&tl=en&u=http://www.alltageinesfotoproduzenten.de/2010/07/21/zwei-jahre-microstock-mein-zahlen-und-erfahrungen/&twu=1 The original German version can be found here: http://www.alltageinesfotoproduzenten.de/2010/07/21/zwei-jahre-microstock-mein-zahlen-und-erfahrungen/ Do these numbers compare to yours? Have fun reading. |
