The more handsome/pretty they are the better, but what else can you do except work with the models that you have available and which you can afford?
thats very true. Not everyone can afford to pay for their models

as the title says:
How do you feel about using a model very often?
Do you think it is a bad thing? Does it affect sales a lot?
The reason i am asking is because i use my Girlfriend very often as a model, the reasons are obvious: - She has fun posing - We just shoot whenever we feel like it - Relaxed vibe - Trust each other - No problems with MRs etc.
I only started doing Microstock about half a year ago, but i feel like 80% of my portfolio is of pictures of her.
Would be happy to hear your thoughts about this

Golly I don't know why they took the reptile or bird. Next time they might not? But if these have passed twice, keep them in the rotation.
Winners - nice!
1 - Girl 2 - Strawberries 3 - Guy at laundromat
The rejected shots are also, more of the same, if you have an isolation, make the background WHITE ( not blue-gray) For the application photos don't bother with shallow depth of field, trick shots, anything artsy and watch the shadows. SS hates shadows.
For all I know they got tired of seeing the same guy in six shots, and rejected you just for that. Did anyone ever mention getting accepted, Diversity will help a bunch. ten of the same thing or all the same type of shots or same type of lighting, and they get bored. The agency wants to know you can provide a variety of shots.
Last of all, anyone reading this... I joke about it, because it's true. Do Not Under Any Circumstances upload sliced vegetables for your review images! Don't even think about it. Probably a perfect hamburger or some other things they have 8000 of already, are not good ideas.
You can search SS, and use that as a tool to you advantage. Shoot something they don't have by the thousands.
Unfortunately for myself, it would be easier to make a long list of things, not to shoot, than give you some helpful ideas of what's needed. Two reasons, I'm boring and uninspired, and when I do get an idea, I'm not giving it away for anyone else. LOL) But since you are trying and making an effort, why not look and see what ideas you have that hasn't been shot into oblivion? That's a good choice.
Thanks for the tips. Funny enough the Bird and the crocodile have been accepted for the third time now. Also don't find the shots great (and they get hardly any views on the other agencys), but i will still keep them as long as the reviewers seem to accept them. Funny enough the Red Bell pepper was accepted last time, thats why i chose it. Usually i would never consider it, since i have no plan wat' good for food photography. Thanks for the tip with always using the same model.

i also submitted to SS just now, and you need model releases for photos with people. IS i can't remember anymore.

Hi everybody, I have been reading these forums for a while now and must say that it is great, also for a newbie like myself. I started uploading photos to microstock agency's a couple of months ago and everything is getting along fine. The only real problem that i have been having, is getting accepted as a contributor at SS. I have been rejected 3 times now :'( but I'm not giving up yet . One time 5 out of the 10 were not good enough and the other two times 6 out of 10. In 2 days i can upload again and really want to make it (the 1 month wait feels like for ever). I would be really really thankful if you could look at my portfolios at other agency's and give some tips which pictures would be recommendable as one of the 10. I know that my images might not be up to the standard that some (or most) people here have in their portfolios, but please remember that i am very new to microstock and that i am working on improving as fast and good as possible . Can't believe it is so much easier to get pictures accepted at other agency's. Here are the links On fotolia i have 165 pics: http://de.fotolia.com/p/202566705Dreamstime with 115: http://www.dreamstime.com/Dandamanwasch_portfolio_pg1123RF with 110 (but 60 stuck in review mode): http://de.123rf.com/profile_dandamanwaschand 40 pics at iStock (due to model release problems and upload limit): http://deutsch.istockphoto.com/search/portfolio/7785951/?facets=%7B%2225%22%3A%226%22%7D#b32474dTHANK YOU IN ADVANCE

Another thing i don't understand is, how i can attach the correct model releases after uploading with ftp???
place the release(s) on the moldel_release folder, then place the pictures on the previous folder, they will go automatically to those files (after you click on process)
I understood this, but what happens if i upload a batch with lets say 5 different models. Doesn't it matter which release go's where? Still didn't manage to figure out how to change the title....

I am very confused with the Upload system.
I managed to upload via FTP, but the pictures got (soft)rejected because the file name was used as the title. I just can't find a way to change this. If i go to the edit menu, all i can edit is the description and the keywords (tags) or write a comment for the reviewer.
Another thing i don't understand is, how i can attach the correct model releases after uploading with ftp???

yep, you are right and this is excactly the problem.
iStock demands you use a new release for each shoot Dreamstime demands you use the SAME release for all shoots with a person
personally I think getting a release for each shoot makes more sense and covers you better in the case problem. So, get a release for every shoot but just submit the one to Dreamstime.
Ok thanks a lot!

Hi, as i have always understood it, I need a new release for each shoot I do with a specific model. For example: I shoot Peter Pan on the 28.10.2011 at a studio and I shoot Peter Pan again a few days later, let's say the 30.10.2011 outdoors. Do I need two releases or not? Reason why I am asking, I have been using a new release for each shoot, which obviously is also a bit time consuming. Yesterday some of my images where Rejected at Dreamstime because of , "Please don\'t use a new MR for each new shooting with the same model. You must have only one MR in your MR Library for each one of your models. Thank you."
so how do you guys do it. PS: IS for example needs a shoot description. They obviously need a new release, right?
