Mat, that's really nice of you to get in touch with us on behalf of Adobe.
Very important:
But when will Adobe find a solution for the ridiculously long and annoying review times for non AI images?
This may (is likely?) to be a fluke, but I submitted an editorial image about a week ago and it was reviewed and approved overnight! I was shocked as most reviews were taking weeks.

why doesn't Stocksy count?
Because there are only 3 votes. Also, Stocksy is a fairly closed agency like Getty....not anyone can contribute. There's nothing wrong with that of course. They charge high prices and get them which is great, but the reality is most people are not allowed to contribute.

Shutterstock used to be number 1 the Poll Results, now they are number 3 (not counting Stocksy). That seems pretty straightforward and should washout any biases one way or the other.

Based on the pole results, SS seems to be a sinking ship....not exactly sure why...maybe all the 10 cent royalties?

Just two weeks after crossing the 13 million mark, the genAI collection is now over 14 million - 14,062,823
Amazing! What would be interesting to know is for those selling AI images as stock, how do the $$$ work out? In other words what is the net revenue selling genAI stock vs. the cost of "membership" to the genAI websites?
On Midjourney it's 10$ (minimum) vs whatever you get from Adobe Stock and Dreamstime: https://www.microstockgroup.com/37744/37744/msg590316/#msg590316
The plan pricing is confusing things like "3 jobs, 10 jobs waiting in queue". How does that translate into things like: "For $10 month, how many images can the user generate?"

As an interesting side note. Many times you can tell an AI image because things look too "smooth" (for lack of a better word). But I have also seen that actual photos that are over-processed can have this same look...they can look as if generated by AI.

The month long waiting time for reviews is getting aggravating.

Do the various AI companies maintain enough rights to the images generated by users that they could turn around and start competing with the stock agencies?

Well from an income perspective, based on the chart at the right, SS has dropped to third place....maybe that goes hand in hand with how they are doing financially as a company.

If you use MidJourney, is the agreement such that Midjourney could also upload all your output to the stock agencies and sell it themselves?

What's the current review time for PNG's at Adobe? I've had a file sitting in queue for 17 days.

Like I said, the 8 fingers, 3 claws etcIMO are typical of ai. Which why for me it makes perfect sense to take it.
How, in any universe, is this a useful image of a roast turkey?
Or this of a boiled lobster?
There are lots and lots of this type of "mistakes of AI" - I'm not just cherry picking a few with flaws.
Or, if this type of could-easily-be-mistaken-for-real content is really important, then slap an overlay on them, like "EDITORIAL ONLY" or "PREMIUM" have. Otherwise it's a fast ticket to getting fired from your job for being mocked on social media instead of promoting whatever it was you were supposed to be pitching.
Good points. I believe AI will "get there" not making "mistakes", but it may take long enough to give AI images a really bad name among commercial users...enough so that they just avoid it and defer to using actual photographic imagery for quite some time.

I'm guessing one important factor is as follows:
- Many photos uploaded to Stock sites aren't super saleable....i.e. snapshots, nice landscapes....etc.. Generally with stock, photos with people in "interesting" locations (e.g. offices) sell better. For a photographer, that means hiring models with releases etc., and getting those interesting locations. For AI, it is no problem to include "people" as subjects in "interesting lcations". In general, with good prompts, AI can produce saleable images without having to hire actual models or travel to interesting or challenging locations as a photographer would have to do.

Just got all my editorial photos and videos rejected for editorial caption.
I've written them the exact same way as i had been for many many years.
Example: Valmeinier, France - Circa 2023:
Does anyone know about any rule change?
I have always put a specific date, never "Circa xxxx"

I think it may depend on the type of content.

I always wondered why iStock doesn't have a tool that would tell you what you would be earning if you were exclusive with them at your current sales levels. I understand it is not totally straightforward in that exclusive assets can be more expensive which might impact sales. but they tend to keep it more of a mystery than it need be.
