That's got to be one of the smallest amounts for video I've ever had.

Another good reason is that I think it will make us start producing alot more goods. Instead of being a mainly data driven society (business) it would be nice to start manurfacturing again. Also producing our own foods. I was watching country file last week and the future of agriculture is by farming summer foods indoors without the sun but using high powered LED lights. amazing really.
Futures looking good to me. Were a nation of entrepreneurs and inventors with our business mindeds I think were all going to be OK.

I'm pretty happy, especially with the exchange rates (which will only get better) I'm making an extra 300-400 a month more just on the better exchange rates compared to this time last year.
yes and in the future you will pay higher taxes...
I doubt it, possibly inflation will go up a bit but that goes for everything. Goods from Europe may go up a bit but then goods from the rest of the world we could get cheaper. We buy more goods from Europe than any other country. We have the biggest European market for German cars, Food, Wine, Furniture. The list goes on and on. Europe needs us more than we need it. I'm looking forward to having business with the rest of the world without EU legislation. What on earth is Scotland thinking? If it leaves the Uk it will go bust within 5 years. I also don't think Europe will want it included. It will be another Ireland or Greece.

you think im kidding huh? screen cap incoming, but i did notice that december sales report said "reversed" which makes no sense cuz i already cashed out. Is this a joke or something? Far as Im concerned if they paid me I'll never return the money. Waiting to hear back.
They probably reversed it because they found it for $49 on videoblocks You might want to rethink some of your hyper-lapses and maybe sell them more as RM instead as RF? Nice clip BTW

The microstockr app is also working again for balances

The outstanding balance is the account balance on the financials tab. Strange that you've not been paid, have you checked the payment information tab or did you ever go through the tax interview?

When someone goes big and starts manipulating whole market with new prices, you'll understand how disturbing is any new price dropping and cutting comisions of contributors.
Somehow I don't think istock are in that league. I've been in this industry long enough to realize that I can't control things that can't be controlled. If a stock agency does something awful and people think the world will end some other agency will pick up the pieces and things move on. It's a forever evolving cycle.

Why is everyone so cut up about istock??? you have videohive selling clips for $6 and Getty selling clips for $1000's
The market is complex and no one can control it. We'd like to think we can but we can't.
We have low budget bloggers buying on videohive and film and TV companies buying on Getty. You need the cheep and the expensive.
istock are just middle of the road.
A'd say get over it and move on. The industry never stops.

You've got to type the file number into Getty. I had 5 refunds a few hours ago from Getty. I only do footage and a year ago that would have meant over $600 of refunds. However all of them were for $3.56 so thank God it was only for small sums of money.
The low royalties at the moment on Getty via istock is really bad though. Never had any a year ago and now every month I seem to get 50+ tiny royalties mixed in with the normal royalty amounts . I'd love to know what is going on with that?

No I haven't recieved mine yet. Should be by the 25th of each month so my guess is Thursday or Friday. It can't be the 25th as it's a bank holiday.

I'm finding video sales are slow everywhere at the moment. First week of December was OK and then a big slowdown. Seems a bit early yet for Christmas but who knows?

I shoot only at 24fps and sell clips everywhere around the world constantly. I really don't think it matters. If the buyer needs your footage they will just buy it. They probably won't even check fps. With software now converting to different fps is flawless and a touch of a button. Only a few years back I had to convert the files into an image sequence to then render them again to my desired frame rates. This was the only way to get rid of the timing glitch. I havent had to do this for ages now as software caters for all this.

Yes it's absurd amounts of money. Then think what they pay us... tut tut tut...
I don't think I quite explained my question well enough. It's basically this...
If we find our work anywhere are we free to state the fact that it's our work? If we see our work in action can we say this on our own website (no video played just words explaining) or when we sell our clips to production company's do we have to stay anonymous? Is it written in the contract somewhere that we give all rights away and can't ever mention the fact of where our clips are used?
Sorry I know it's a gray area, just wondering if anyone has checked out where we stand on this?
Thanks

Thanks for the advice to both of you. An ad during the super bowl must have been crazy. The amount of money that must have cost to air?
I've seen my work on UK TV quite a bit but never in a film in cinemas. Just another layer to what my clips have been used for that I would love to explain on my website. I'll try and contact the production company.
Thanks

Hi guys, just wanted to pick your brains. I was watching the new film 'Supersonic' the other night and was blown over to see several of my clips. they were at a real crucial and important part of the film too so was and still am so chuffed. I'm a massive Oasis fan and lived and breathed them back in 1995 when I was 17.
Anyway to cut a long story short how can I or am I allowed to kind of credit myself on my website about my stock being included in the film? Has anyone done this kind of thing before - to credit themselves?

If you are exporting the animations as an image sequence out of flash, you can always open the image sequence in quicktime or photoshop and export it from there.

The prices on VH are too low! There's no way for me to upload any footage there! There are contributors who think they will outsmart others who don't support agencies with low prices. But in reality they are responsible for undervaluing the work of all contributors and I don't have any respect to them. danr13, maybe VH are making you a favor when they reject your clips and you will have more sales on the other agencies with higher prices (royalties)!
I totally agree. 8 for HD and 25 for 4k is ridiculous, and that's before the agencies %. I can't afford to put my catalogue of clips on there because if people do shop around (which I'm sure some must do) I want them to buy my clips at the higher rates. There is a market for all prices I'm sure but I value my work higher. 8 HD clips should only be the dregs of contributors catalogues but some people supply them there best works, doesn't make sense to me?
