It's almost six hours now (european working hours).  Well, I'm not happy.  :-\

Veer / Re: Unacceptable review times at Veer
« on: April 04, 2011, 02:59 »
Last review of my vector illustrations took 17 days.

603
I just took a look at poll results. I don't know what to think about Regimages, ArcticStock, Paxxion, Vivozoom, PhotoCase, Photospin... that suddenly appear among best selling sites. I wonder if it is real or fake.

604
Yeah, I've said it before, but I'm still having the problem - they never get to the "unfinished" section, for me to be able to get them into pending.

Some do, but most don't.  I've even checked days later - nothing...

Does anyone else have this problem?

It happened to me few times. Maybe it nonsense or bad luck but it looks to me that I was not able to see images that have absolutely same file name like images that I have already uploaded in the past (it happens as I have bought new camera so my files are named DSC0000 from zero again). When I uploaded image again with changed named, it was ok. But it really can be just strange circumstance.

I'm intrigued by this part:

"The Contributor will be required to disable the file permanently from all other places where he or she may sell it, as soon as possible after the sale occured, but no longer than 72 hours. "

How could a contributor possibly guarantee that this happens?  It's dependent on the other agencies responding to their request within that time frame.

That's why I never tick off "sell the rights" box except very few exclusive images. If I rememeber well for example at Zoonar you must keep your images there for 6 months before deleting.

Great month.
BME - total, Shutterstock, Dreamstime, 123rf, Fotolia and even PantherMedia
Average Veer, GLO and Deposit
Canstock and BigStock were disappointing in March.

And this... Is it serious?
http://blog.dreamstime.com/2011/04/01/today-i-am-approving-all-images_art34815

Yes of course it's serious and not just today.  All they are saying is that if you are selective about what you upload and the photos are perfect then they will accept them. It's just a tongue in the cheek way of saying it.

I wish this foolish day is over. :-)
Maybe I was confused because they didn't say "...and no similars".....

New Sites - General / Re: Earnings on Zoonar

Thanks Michael,

I have one more question - vectors are offered only by Zoonar and not by parnters?

« on: April 01, 2011, 01:59 »
I still don't understand what made so talented illustrator do something like this. You can disagree but for me the differences between orginal tutorials and his images are too small not to be called copies.
They didn't say they wouldn't accept images based on tutorials but at iS they do all they can to get rid of all nonexclusives so they don't want images that are published everywhere just after some interesting tutorial is published.

I can live with it - bugs appear from time to time.

But their approval times, it's a different story.    :-\

Panthermedia.net / Re: What Happened at Panther Media?
« on: March 31, 2011, 09:27 »
My images are back, but acceptance rate is still 0.

But...  if I upload series of images that reviewer for some reason doesn't like and rejects it completely and then it takes another xx weeks (soon will be months) until another approving process - acceptance rate is calculated from last three months so.... 0% for few weeks is theoretically not impossible.

Edit: acceptance rate is now ok

Hopefully it will change back to normal - i can find my images.
I'd rather kiss Gaddafi than upload all files to Panther again.

Even worse. All my approved files are gone. I have 0 of accepted files.

Thanks for your answer. These images are obviously not newsworthy. It's a pity that images like that cannot be sold without retouching all logos (still with uncertain reviewers decision). I think that there are potential buyers for these images. I'll recommend to my friend to take some pictures of a woman with scale and apple (green if available) instead.

Oh, I didn't know that I can speak french.  :)

Image Sleuth / Re: 60 watermarked images

All of them would be sold at least once - if Mr. Buzzfeed would pay for them.  :-\

We have Thinkstock subscription in my parttime job and usage is about 50%.

619
It is normal. At PantherMedia. It's because of some paypal account verification.

620
Staying thirsty I'm going to fill out the survey and then download free set of 800 stolen images behind original keyhole.

621
Don't be sad whore. I'm in the conviction that this image is really yours. Well rendered. None of us can do it. http://www.shutterstock.com/pic.mhtml?id=61133887

RedScarlet, you are lucky guy that you make so much money at ebay because it seems that your days at microstock are over.  :P

623
I hope you have paid that funny microstock price to Fotolia for image at "Foods that will save your life no matter what" article  :P

I have to ask him if he would like to be photographer at my wedding.  :)

Friend of mine (his English is even worse than mine - so I have to ask) has a collection of images of old cars that he shot in his atelier. He tried to upload few of them to Shutterstock as editorial. They were rejected - not because of technical quality but because of description.
I know how description of editorial images should like but  what to fill in description when it is shot in atelier and not at exhibition or similar place? Any idea? I thought that reviewers would understand that it is impossible to use usual SS Description format for editorial images.
Thanks for help.
