How do I delete my shutterstock account? Am I stuck if I added images a month ago?

On your profile you can opt out of everything... that will remove all your images from the site.

Why not just disable all your images. That way nothing will show up for sale and if circumstances change sometime down the road you can easily enable them again.  Better than having to re-upload everything.  This is also acceptable if you are going exclusive somewhere.

wow! and I thought I was taking a chance on joining iStock this past Sunday as an indie  ???

Exclusive- do you know something that we don't? This is like being on a life boat and wanting to redock the titanic after she is half way down to the bottom of the ocean

I am a illustrator not a photographer, and it seems to be the only site that sells for me.

Mark, before you make that decision can I encourage you to have a look through some of the recent threads on istock's own forum? You might want to have a rethink...

Monty-m-gue is right. Think twice.
Going excusive these days is like joining NSDAP in April 45.

Does this mean it's all over? The stock sky is falling?

Not yet. But.
By the way - if I remember well your illustrations - they are perfect cliparts that could be moved to Google or Microsoft - for free :-) But it can happen as independent anyway. Read current iS threads here...
I don't want to scare you but being in your shoes I'd rather wait until iStock/Google is solved somehow.
But you're to decide...
