Maybe they want to get rid of it after having 30 million photos in their archives :-)

Here is an idea. They should accept new contributors only through BigStock and if they prove themselves let them smoothly transfer their portfolio to Shutterstock.

I have been with ss since 2007, and I have never seen such a massive breakdown before.
Good thing is that they inform us.
Bad thing is that I had a zero day.

As a buyer. I can not even get in to the place.

Put HTTPS:// in front of the URL and it will work, at least its working for me, still.

SS has stated that they disabled the contributor site to help speed things up on the buyer side. Seems counter-productive to circumvent the disabling, you're only making it harder for buyers to get to the site and get their images.

I just reach 3000 dollars and the site went down suddenly 

You see? It really is unsustainable!

5 people came up with that workaround before me, but now its a problem?

That message about speeding up the buyer side, came just now. That was unknown to me when I repeated the workaround.

I have deleted the workaround, you might want to edit your comment too so that no one can see it.

It Alive! Some stats are not calculated properly and my nightly FTP upload is not showing up.

If they wanted to block people they would disable both URLs dont you think?

I think they switched over to a secure connection and the URLs havent been updated or the routing doesnt work. HTTP = unsecure HTTPS = secure

I think they will keep the majority out and they did not count on contributors finding a back door. I bet they are so happy you found a way in.

They have bigger things to worry about right now, the site just imploded. Time to pull out the Duct Tape and Baling Twine AGAIN.

Check your own reply/quote again, and see that I didnt find the backdoor.

By the way I don't buy their story about site traffic, I think it is more damage control for continued errors that they know will be visible.

@ShutterstockReq follow on Twitter for updates. Not that it's anything more than "soon" at least it leaves the SS servers out of it.

ok, enough on who, what or whom found the backdoor! Let's just concentrate on news that is coming from Shutter - I am taking images/processing them instead of worrying about this mishap- be productive instead of wondering or guessing...
