Was the first sale also someone using safari? and after rereading the post on apple, it would be the person who is doing the downloading's server. did ron try downloading and get the same result, or was it just the customer having the problem? Unfortunately, we cant troubleshoot everyone in the world's computer.

Since two people have now confirmed safari works ok for them, i just dont think it is safari itself, but maybe the way they have safari configured? I didnt see any available settings that had anything to do with that though.

I have bought 5 images, 1 from my site, 3 from leo, and 1 from someone else, all 5 worked fine.

my first sale didnt get any complaints, assuming it went fine, the last sale the buyer told me she had an issue with the html ext but she told me she fixed it, however, i asked her what browser she used. dont know if she replied yet.

I used chrome for all my purchases.

I have no idea what the root cause is and I am hesitant to blame it on the buyers configuration. No one knows what is causing this.

My buyer used a MAC when she got the HTML crap, when she used a PC it worked fine. I am now waiting for a reply to see if she used different browsers as well

I doubt it has anything to do with the platform or browser itself. I am inclined to think it is a setting somewhere in the downloader's browser or in the os, or on the site's side that is wrong.

I have been using macs since the 80s and have never gotten html crap when downloading a jpg. But a similar situation occurred on the school i attend's website when we all tried to download a pdf. It would show up on our desktop as an .asp file. Eventually we were told to just change the extension and open. All was good. Then the school actually fixed their website so that when you downloaded a pdf, you got a pdf. The school uses pcs and their site is built in .aspx. Students using both macs and pcs had the problem.

Another possible explanation: file has .jpeg as an extension instead of .jpg. Safari might have in its settings to read all image files with a .jpg extension and therefore doesnt read jpeg. Just throwing out ideas.  :)

I am just posting feedback, I have no opinion about why this is happening. All my images are .jpg

I just had this happen with a customer that purchased a vector file.

I'll ask him what browser he was using.

I was sure.. at the moment I deal with it by telling customers to use another browser.. it works with occasional sales..

but hopefully if we sell hundreds in a day  8) (did I just say hundred sales a day  :D ) it will be difficult to deal with so many support requests..   :P

This issue just happened for one of my customers. 4 sales so far and this is the only time with this issue. Waiting for the customer to let me know what browser. Did we ever solve this issue?

4 sales! Good job.

I want to address this issue. Its a very strange one. It might be as simple as changing a header. thank you for reminding me.
