I'm currently running SY 2.5.5 and WP 3.5. I want to upgrade both but not sure which to do first.

Any insight for those that have done this is really appreciated.

I think shouldn't have problem which one update first, my case is I updated SY befoure WP.

Do individually and back up before each update

Thanks for the insight. I'll work on it tomorrow after I backup my site and my database.

Hopefully this will run smoother than when I upgraded my hosting plan then my db went poof! They migrated the db without the content inside the tables. :/

I was already on 2.5.6 when I updated to the latest WP

Performing my backups now. Didn't realize I had that many files. Wow.

I've updated both now and all seems well. It took longer to perform the back up than it did to update.
