On Alamy there can be a long wait between making a sale and getting the $$$ paid into the account several months sometimes.

General rule is if a sale doesnt clear after 3 months, you can contact Alamy, otherwise customers have 3 months to pay

I have a sale that hasn't cleared from April 2016. I've contacted support twice about it. Bottom line is that it's a large customer who has only paid part of their total invoice and until the entire invoice is paid, Alamy doesn't clear payments to contributors.

This is the first time this sort of delay has happened to me at Alamy, and although I realize it's difficult for them too, it seems the contributor is the worst off - the deadbeat customer has and has used my image; Alamy has received some of the money they are owed; contributors have received zip.

At some point - possibly on the one year anniversary which is coming up soon - I may contact them to ask why they don't make a partial payment of royalties based on the customer's partial payment to them. It was a $150 license ($75 owed to me), so it's not an "oh never mind" amount. I know that's not their policy, but at some point it feels as if Alamy is penalizing me for their failure to collect from their customer.

And to the OP, look for the statements that mark amounts as uncleared (x) or cleared (o) in the balance of account

Photog-Teo, on your Alamy dashboard click Account Balance. In the top right corner select Statement Period to All. X's, O's, and dates indicate payment status.

Jo Ann, Yes I have 2 sales from last April still pending payment. It will make a nice month for me if these payments come through. I've contacted Alamy with the same result. Per my response, apparently Alamy thinks this is a very good customer with a big account so they expect payments "in due time". I will likely Email them again in April.

wow thats a long time to allow a customer to have an outstanding invoice!

i mean, anything can happen, the company declares bankruptcy, etc and defaults on the bill

i dont think i've ever had to wait longer than 3 monthsfor clearance, but it is concerning that Alamy would accept that as a matter of fact

I just had a sale clear a few days ago that was from April 2016! May have been the same buyer.

And my April 2016 sale that had been outstanding is now marked as cleared- very happy that it finally happened, but still find the business model pretty upsetting (that the customer uses the image and we don't get paid for over a year).
