From a contributor point of view Adobe Stock search engine it is bad, for me at least. When someone makes a search, the default search settings results are by Relevance. Almost all the files resulted from this search are old files with lots of downloads, so this results looks like sort by Downloads not by Relevance.
I like the fact that my old files with many downloads came back in adobe stock search results, but for my new uploads the only chance to get sales is from Fotolia website which has less and less visitors, after the traffic has been redirected to adobe stock website.
My point is that new files have less chances to get sales compared to Fotolia search engine.
What do you think about Adobe Stock search engine ?

P.S.  English isn't my first language, so please excuse any mistakes

If mostly new files are shown, old-timers with lots of sales will complain.

If mostly files with lots of sales are shown, people who actively upload now will complain.

A search engine will never be able to make everyone happy. It is impossible.

If buyers really want new files, they will sort by "New". If they find what they need with "Relevant", well, then the results were relevant.

Fotolia search engine "Sort by Relevance" returns new and old files, based on their keywords and sales, so everyone has a chance to sell.
I don't want everyone to be happy I just don't understand why Adobe Stock has 2 search results based on downloads(Relevance and Downloads).

yes but you agree that this way new files will sell random,ly. i have this difficulty. my old files sell much better even if they are mostly editoria..all new files especially food photography who i produce with better quality than most popular image, struggle because they only appears on the new tab. if they are not sold first minute they disappeari very fast and the chance to sell them are so low..tha'ts why old contributor with mediocre portfolio for today standard still sell more or on par with high quality producer.

So true, but then you see people on forums saying, remove photos, upload as new and get seen, but post after post saying new images don't sell. Followed by old images don't sell, new gets unfair search advantage. No search will ever please everyone, in fact with Microstock any search will likely displease almost everyone.  :) Seems like finding things wrong comes with working Microstock.

1. all searches are geared towards lower royalty members, stands to reason since agencies are in business.

2. what you see in your search is not what the buyers see! most of the time they see different pics.

3. agencies are in business for one reason only: money! consequently searches are geared towards making the most lolly!

1> Really show me. Stands to reason is not proof of anything, just another unproved claim of conspiracy.
2> how do you see that, I can log in as a buyer and I see all the same, show me.
3> no doubts you are right on this point. Better search, show the better image for the buyers, agency makes more money.

I'm tired of reading your lies.

But if the search works for me I don't care if everyone else is displeased ;-). By definition anything that puts things in order is not fair.
