Yes I would do that too, if I could get 38 cents per download instead of 35.

I was kind of disappointed myself- I was expecting him to use a 41mp Cell phone instead of the big bulky dSLR  ;)

  Spray and Pray... thats legend.

Do you know about that movement about that wedding photographer David Jay that gave a course in wedding photography and said basically to spray and pray?  :)

With action all you can do is spray and pray. I don't understand why he used such a slow camera with a 1 sec. delay to shoot this.

Yep, he used a Hasselblad because they have a flash sync max of 1/800 sec compared to 1/250th in a Canon 1dx.  Also, if you can, you might as well get 80mp images from an expensive shoot like that one.

Yes, you can light a flying plane with 30kWs of flashes, but I don't find the results that interesting.

(Is this really a new video? I have a feeling I have read about this shoot for months or years ago...)

It's a strange project. I suppose the air force wanted the shots and arranged it all, since the expense certainly doesn't seem justified for stock purposes.  You could tell he works mostly in a studio from the time it took him to hit on panning as the solution, which I'm pretty sure a motor-sports shooter would have done automatically.

If it was a commission from the Danish air force then why was it done at a commercial airport? Why would they commission Yuri anyway as he is hardly an expert in aviation photography (obvious from the video) and surely the Danish armed forces would have their own specialist photographers anyway? The pilot looked way too old to be operational too.

I get the impression that it was just another vanity shoot for yet more self-promotion showing us how much gear he's got and how exciting his life is. Note the vital close-up of his personalised registration plate on his car.

I did notice that too, but I was wondering about it, if it were cheeky or vanity... I think  he is just being cheeky on purpose.

love the number plate, but the car, ugh, not a fan of the hot peppers suv. tis a bit soft. land rover defender would have suited the video.

Don't feed the ego, folks.

Yuri made it pretty clear how he feels about all of us amateurs. Why are we talking about him?

How does he feel about us? Can someone remind us who missed that?

I couldn't agree moreI thought it was a little embarrassing the amount of time he wasted trying to get the shot. Obviously you have to pan with the plane as it passes by to get a shot like thatpretty ordinary result in the end as well.
