I agree with you. A fantastic person with the talent to tell a whole story with a single picture. I myself own the illustrated books Amazonia and Exodus. If you don't know him yet, you should take a look at his pictures.
I find it all the more disgusting and disrespectful that once again a certain person is exploiting every topic for political propaganda.

Hello Adobe,
why don't you openly say that you're not interested in us contributors anymore? What's with this pathetic, pointless communication?
I am very disappointed.
As a tech company, you should be ashamed of yourselves. Incidentally, I am also (was) a customer of Adobe products.

This thread caused me to run a check for wrongly marked exclusive images. For anyone not sure how to do this - just go to the Alamy Image Manager from your contributor dashboard then use the Attributes box at the top and scroll down and tick Exclusive to Alamy. This brings up any images marked as exclusive. I only had five of which three were correct. The other two (a Greek ferry boat and a British politician) were wrongly marked as exclusive. I suspect I was intending to tick the Sell for Editorial box and got the wrong one All sorted now....
Thanks for the very valuable tip. I actually also found 2 exclusive pictures, for the same reason, just clicked on the wrong box.

It was all the opinion of Ukrainian experts.
A good start. Name your experts and link their expertise here in the forum.
Doctor, go back to your hospital. Politics is higher mathematics for you.
Thanks, that's exactly the stupid answer I was expecting. There are no experts, it's all made up.

Go tell that to your government. Because the German government doesn't know that there is no war and constantly supplies huge quantities of weapons to Ukraine.
no matter how many times you say it, russian aggression in ukraine is not equivalent to WWIII
Steve, I'm a big fan of discussing political issues here in the forum too. Especially when it comes to American issues, I'm interested in the opinions of people who live in the region. From months of experience in a now deleted thread because of stoker's misanthropic remarks and insults, I can definitively say: NO DISCUSSION IS POSSIBLE WITH STOKER. This guy is not really an enrichment for the forum.

You just don't know that World War III has been going on for 10 years. They didn't tell you that on your local TV.
In your world, that's probably the case.

No, they didn't. To be honest, I don't understand how people come up with such weird conspiracy theories in the first place. It's becoming a habit here.
Since Elan Musk hasn't completely shot up the Shutterstock headquarters with his lasers from space, downloads are completely normal, revenue in January is expectedly poor.
Lol - why do you call anything you personally don't agree with a "conspiracy theory", and on top of that - not offer ANY intelligent discourse, other than labelling it as such? It would be like someone trying to discredit anything & everything you say by simply saying "Oh, there is ralf again, the left wing nut, yada yada yada, spouting his left wing nut nonsense". ARE you a left wing nut - and do you prefer just name calling? OR... are you capable of intelligent discourse?
He's just a doctor. And all doctors are a little crazy. They live in their own reality, the reality of their hospital. When doctors go out on the street, they don't see people around them, they only see patients, and that's why they diagnose everyone. Doctors also think that they are smarter than everyone else. I already wrote to him that this forum is not a hospital and there are no patients of his here. But probably you need to treat a doctor as a person who has specific deviations due to the nature of his work and his environment.
I've only just discovered this stupid post. I don't work in a hospital. Should you ever have a heart attack, apoplexy, tumor or an open fracture - in this case it is certainly good if the doctor is smarter than you and thinks of his patients. I think it's pretty poor that you keep coming back to the personal level without any arguments.

I have another theory about whats happening, especially on Adobe. I wont go too deep into it for now since my numbers on Adobe are still growing, but something has caught my attention.
Lately, Ive seen new accounts appearing on Adobe, filled exclusively with AI-generated contentimages and videos that look suspiciously similar to the top-selling ones on the platform.
Of course, last year, we got paid quite a bit because they "trained" their AI using our images. But what really worries me is the possibility that these accounts aren't real people, but rather fake company-run accounts, designed to grab all the earnings from contributors who actually put in the work and figured out what sells.
Through AI, they could be generating almost identical content under these fake profiles to compete with and replace real contributors. If thats the case, they wouldnt just be profiting from AItheyd be cutting us out entirely.
I really hope these accounts belong to independent people who are simply analyzing top-selling content and artificially copying it. Because if they are actually company-run accounts, created to take even more of our earnings, it would be a massive disappointmentespecially coming from Adobe, which so far has been the most contributor-friendly platform.
At this point, I have to agree with you on the whole. There seem to be accounts that specifically copy bestsellers with the help of AI and fill the entire account with them. In another forum, someone explained how this is technically possible on a large scale. Maybe he will explain it here. Because I'm not very good at this sort of thing, I can't reproduce it here. But it has nothing to do with Adobe.

My sales are up and I found one of my images, first in a search, there's obviously some unfair manipulation going on there!
No Pete, this is not manipulation. I have personally noticed that downloads increase when you dance naked around a public fountain in winter. I'll submit photos later
Please don't, just imagining that scene is scaring me.
I generally sacrifice chickens, under a Full Moon. (others call it grilling BBQ Wings, but close enough?) I burn offerings to the all powerful and wise God of Microstock, Hephaestus, who is the Greek god of artisans, blacksmiths, carpenters, craftsmen, fire, metallurgy, metalworking, sculpture and volcanoes.

Also covering other options, I celebrate Saturnalia, with a Scotch tasting festival, near the winter solstice.
Charms are also something that everyone should have and use, for good luck. The rabbits foot is extremely powerful for more illustration downloads.

Okay, you win. I feel like a beginner right now. You definitely have more opportunities to influence your success

Happy birthday I'm always skeptical at first when a message begins with the promise of riches. I didn't receive the email and find the request strange. The date of birth should be available to Alamy, as should all other data to identify you. If I understand correctly, the purpose of the request is to forward your data. It's also not clear where the data goes. I also don't necessarily want to be identified as the copyright owner by anyone. That is the task of Alamy in contact with me. I would not do it.

the only one I keep reading with an opposite trend is you Which I find interesting and encouraging for my real video/photo project for 2025.
Yes Jasmin, I hate being trendy and mainstream Thank you for your answer, which of course explains your point of view.

It must be some kind of glitch. It makes no economic sense to take 5 million fresh files a week and then hide them from the world.
Also if customers hated ai, they would have left for ss or getty in the last two years, but all we see is adobe picking up customers and having increased growth.
No offense meant. But where did you get your figures and your certainty? I myself am experiencing significant growth at Shutterstock, Dreamstime and Depositphotos. Maybe customers are running away from Adobe?

« on: January 08, 2025, 17:13 »
Well, it cant get worse. So far $6 this month on SS while Adobe is already at $80.
Yes, same here. My ShutterStock is earning about $3-$5/day so far this month. Really bad.
Amazed how things can drop off a cliff so quickly. Where did the customers go? I guess Adobe. Because it sure ain't Pond5.
Also had a comparatively bad day. In December for the same downloads, income would have been around twice as high. However, my impression is that customers are definitely not running away from Shutterstock. Only the new year reset sucks.

Alamy is completely unsuitable for monthly statistics. In October I had 48 downloads, in summer I went almost 8 weeks without.
The overall development at Alamy looks like this for me, almost all sales are editorials.:
The meaning for sales of this ominous CTR with this curve to me personally is pretty unclear.

Hey everyone, I understand it, it's heart breaking news. But let's keep this forum as a microstock related forum and avoid sharing something else. Thanks!
A forum member and stock photo colleague describes the hardship in his region due to a natural disaster quite objectively. In this context, I can't understand your request and, to be honest, I find it quite inappropriate. Please keep us up to date, Jeff.

As a technical layman, I have the greatest respect for the fact that someone has managed to develop a tool for this strange iStock-keywording system. Hats off.
However, I'm afraid that your business model won't work out. The service is only for a single agency, which also manages to sell assets for single-digit cents. I think very few people will want to pay money for that. But good luck anyway.

Mat, I personally wish you all the best for your new area of responsibility.
However, I also gather from your announcement that Adobe is the last agency that no longer values personal contact with contributors. So all in all, not good news.

Has anyone seen an increase in their earnings this year from uploading new content to SS?
Yes, this summer I mainly uploaded new material. The new images have led to an increase in income. (The spike in June is due to a single $500 sale).

That information was already explained here on forum. In one of those previous topics about adobe upload and review time and how uploaded files are not affected by time of upload but by time of approval. I'm sorry but I don't have time to surf trough thousand posts just to insure you two. With all due respect, either you think that I'm wrong or not it doesn't change what I have read here some time ago.
So somewhere, sometime, somehow, you read something from someone and are selling it here as fact. Thank you for giving me your very valuable time here. But that wasn't really helpful.

Deletion of uploaded files is treated same as file rejection and effects on your stats and sales.
If that is the case with deleting stuck files, then the effect would be negated when re-uploading them back into the queue?
Of course NOT. if you upload 1000 images your upload counter will state that you have 1000 uploads. And if you delete 100 and then upload those 100 again, your counter will state that you have 1100 uploads and 100 deleted / rejected images. It is a basic math.
I don't necessarily want to say that your statement is not true. But I find it somehow illogical. Do you have a link where I can read your information? I'm not even sure whether rejected images affect the ranking. My personal experience in this regard is different.
I'm having difficulty finding my acceptance ratio. Is that listed for my account? If the idea that uploads vs accepted, totally ignored uploads that were deleted, maybe?
As far as what Adobe has told us in the two webinars and other places, images are ranked by their activity during the images first 30 days. No where does anything tell us that accounts or artists are ranked.
Position is flexible and always changing, relative to everyone else's position. It's not rank or fixed. It's a floating position. If I get a sudden burst of DLs, I'll move up. If I have a dead period, I'll go down, as long as others had more DLs during the same week. There's nothing to say that uploads and accepted or total numbers have anything to do with position.
Pete, you don't have to explain that to me. I see it the same way you do. However, it's all a black box. If someone has additional information, that's ok. But if someone make assertions here, then he should be able to back them up somehow.
