Adobe Stock / Sudden downfall in downloads

This month is going bad and I am seeing a sudden downfall in download number.

What could be the reason and is this only me?

Adobe Stock / Re: Files being removed from port

As part of our ongoing commitment to enhance the content discovery experience for both customers and contributors, we have identified and are removing duplicate files on Adobe Stock. You should have received an email regarding this update on February 27, 2025. All assets have been carefully evaluated to ensure minimal impact on your portfolio.

The rejections are not with just reason of duplicate. I see many more rejections with some unrelated reason.
And "All assets have been carefully evaluated"... who evalutated them?

"We have determined that this content is incompatible with the Stock Contributor Terms on the basis of an internal audit."

Who did this internal audit? There are millions of images and I am sure the internal audit has not been done by any human.
They are removing works which are totally accurate.

Definitely isnt a "who".  No doubt this is an automatic script let loose with no human oversight with significant bugs working on undisclosed criteria.

They have removed some of my very popular files just with no proper reason. I am not sure what are they upto but if they read these forums, they need to understand that some fake contributors were flooding platforms with AI generated stuffs and real people were already struggling with it. And now, they have started punishing real artists too.

Looks like its their AI system which is taking decision and with some cases have messed up and rejected incorrectly.

Wow, now expect way less than 10 cents.
Contributos are screwed and I am sure all the people in their C post must have received an increment for this change.

Microstock work seems to be a low level job now.

General Stock Discussion / Re: Managing work from two places
« on: March 30, 2025, 11:35 »
I would say the best solution for you is to do your work on a laptop instead of a desktop.

I wish to. I shifted to desktop due to major issue which happened with my high end gaming laptop which was 5 years old and the company denied the repair. Everything came to an end as my data was lost and I was only able to recover ~30%. I since then shifter to desktop where the parts are easily replacable and I don't have to depend with just one company. Having said that, I agree to your point of being portable and I miss the laptop.

You can get the laptop, but Id also suggest thinking about remote access to your desktop. That way, all your files and settings can stay where they are, and you just connect to it from the second place. There are some apps for that like AnyDesk, Chrome Remote Desktop, etc. and it should work well as long as youve got decent internet speed at both spots.

Another (easier) option is to just bump up your Google Drive storage and use it as a shared folder for the files youre actively working on. That way, you can keep most stuff on your desktop, and only sync what you need on the go.

For this reason I will have to get the main computer turned on always for access right?

Also, do we get any portable hdd or network hdd where I can install the software and all I need to do is plug and play on any machine I want.. do we have any solution to it?
Just to mention, I tried with expernal hdd and they gets heated easily.

« on: March 29, 2025, 02:55 »
I have to run back and forth few times in a week.
My entire work/settings are on desktop and I love working at desktop. Whenever I have to go to second place, I don't have access to any of my work data.
For second place I can buy a laptop.

I am looking for possible solutions in which my data becomes portable.

What do you guys do in such situation?

From a high of $121 they have fallen to $19 per share as of now.

This clearly shows the poor mismanagement and they will surely feel the pain which we felt.
Greediness made them blind.

Thanks for the update Raul. Just one question, could you clarify the following

"Contributors are compensated anytime their Stock asset is used "

As in, it follows the existing pay structure when one of our images are used... min $0.38 and upward depending on image use etc.

Thanks

pngtree is full of copyright materials.

I have found lot of my stuffs there and their copyright claims team do nothing even after pointing them out.
Same is the case with vecteezy as they also have lot of copyright violation materials.

I must say that Adobe has best sorting and search algorithm amongst other players.
You get even 1 sale, the system starts to work on sorting it by moving it upwards. This drives more sales and is working well.

On the other side, other websites don't know how to do sorting and are still working on the old school model.

The reset button is slicing all my income just like fruit ninja game.
This is the worst start I have ever seen in many years.

I wish good luck to Jamie.

But this was expected. They had a very strict contributor approval policy and later completely stopped taking contributors.

AI killed it?

We need to accept this fact that AI killed many businesses and lot of job losses in past few years.
I will not deny that AI killed clipartof too.

Shutterstock.com / Re: Account name change needed for tax form???
« on: December 24, 2024, 09:55 »
Even if there is any spelling change or company information change, you need to inform them and claim your accurate ownership. This is not a complex process and I did it few years back and everything was set to go in a week.

Yes, I totally understand that ... but there WAS NO change ... there must be thousands of contributors whose contributor name is not the same as their legal name?  I've always been able to put my legal name on the tax form, but not this year, my contributor name was automatically on the form ...

In that case, you need to explain your situation to shutterstock.
It is normal to have different names in portfolio and contributor profile.

If the form has another name, this might be due to automation.

You need to request shutterstock for a name transfer and submit the needed documents. You will not require to transfer the files.
Everything remains the same as you are doing ownership transfer.

Yes, I did understand that resubmitting the files was not expected, but why the ownership transfer as nothing changed on my side at all?

Now this is new!  I've been with Shutterstock since 2006 and submitted lots of tax forms since then.
This time I got an e-mail, telling me I needed to submit a new one, so I went to the website and noticed that the pre-filled name was not my usual official (legal) name, but my nickname Anneke (which is my contributor name).  But it was not possible to change it on the tax form, so I contacted support, and the only solution to this huge problem is a transfer of my files to a new account name.
WHAT ???
Anyone had a similar experience?  I'm supposed to fill out special forms and send lots of proof etc etc just to do exactly the same as every year, and this while nothing changed in my personal situation ...

General Stock Discussion / Inflation and microstock?
« on: December 10, 2024, 11:15 »
The microstock industry is seeing a lot of competition with steep downfall in the royalty and the other hand inflation is on surge.
How do you all see this and is the microstock future diminishing?
Do the agencies keeping 80-90% cut of our earning fair?

Past many years shutterstock has always been down compared to adobe.
SS used to be an amazing company or I can say the best microstock agency for me but their management became greedy and ruined everything.
