Ive never understood the attraction of creating the Getty custom content unless its someone, somewhere or something youve got immediately to hand.
The return just doesnt justify the effort.

I declare whatever appears in my bank account as UKs. If you're paying taxes on imaginary amounts of money you never get then you're doing it wrong.
I am a sole trader though, so that might make a difference if you're operating through a ltd company structure.
Your way sounds way too complicated to me. My accountants have talked to HMRC over the years to ensure I'm doing it correctly and to get me out from being VAT registered.

Hi All,
Anybody had any 'RF Market Freeze' sales yet?
I've had one. I don't think anyone's going to have a problem with the amounts involved. The real problem for iStock Exclusives is the lack of download credits.

You know the caps lock key is optional in the middle of sentences, right?

So if people are looking to make money off their photography with ordinary everyday photos on MS, they're in for it. They're going to have to supply images that make the pages of the National Geographic and even then, they would probably not get a sale.
Ironically, the cover image for National Geographic in July is one of mine bought through Getty or iStock (don't know which). Check it out next month!

I run an Astrology channel on Youtube. April month views are higher than any previous months, but the total money earned is lesser. Now, there are lesser number of advertisers than the past on these platforms where the produced content is consumed.
I can't believe you didn't see this coming.

Payment isn't due until the 25th. Usually it's a little earlier, but that's a bonus.

I feel like I'm on a treadmill.
I keep uploading but my earnings remain (more or less) the same.
Only hope I have going forward are 4K clips.
At this point, staying the same is a major achievement!

soon you will all be paying to upload your images...mwuahahahahahaaaaaa
not funny, but that comes to mind seeing these bs accounting practices from the almighty getty. never seen a company with such a poor financial administration and so many errors.
They've already tried that - 'Photographer's Choice' they called it.

Realistically it is no longer financially sensible to create content as an Exclusive because of the majority of tiny value sales.
The bitter truth is this is not a viable business and anyone who invests to create content solely for this agency is subsidising the owners and buyers.
The only photographers for whom it will be worthwhile uploading will be those who create content incidentally.
The cynical moving of the royalty targets will quite quickly make the higher levels that many people have been receiving for years unattainable.
I'm assuming that the business doesn't really want many Exclusive artists, just a few to use as a marketing tool.
It's like being a lobster in a pan of slowly warming water.

No its not, Swiss Chocolate wants to abide by family values which stood the test of time for over a million years. It's not backward thinking it is the basis of human society with out which we would not be here.
As to the "diversity" trend its has little to do with real diversity and more to do with corporations trying to appear "woke" and huge amounts of money being thrown at minority interest groups who shout the loudest and have their own "bigoted" agenda for their own political ends.
Great, couldn't agree more
"Traditional" maybe is the word you are looking for @SwissChocolate.
Thanks, yes
Thank god we've made enough progress that your husband / father / brother allows you have a job so we can all hear your enlightened views in here.

I've yet to find one. I'm always trying to find a home for macro RM images but no-one's interested. Their general uselessness and unfriendliness to new photographers is why micro took over in the first place.

If you have a correctly filled in MR then just resubmit.

Lots of benefits to using DeepMeta, I highly recommend it.
It's especially useful for analysing the impenetrable data Getty coughs up for artists once a month and for tracking sales of groups of files using the boards functions.
