Honestly, I wouldn't keep taking the time to explain yourself. The people who are questioning you have already stated they don't plan to take down their ports or really do anything else remotely helpful to fight Shutterstock, but I'm sure they won't mind if all your hard work results in fairer royalties for them.

I have already sold most of my equipment, and invested in another field. I have a port of over 17k videos, and in the past I had days with over 800$ sales. Now I am happy if this much sells in a week.
Good I hope many more will do the same, photo and video.

No One gives a crap anyway. Im Only with 3 sites Now. SS,DP and AS and I haven't sent anything new for 5 Months to anyone and My sales have gone up???....I tripled My personal client base. I do this for a living. I have No hobbies and haven't for 25 years. Now we have a virus.

We can certainly blame Trump, who crosses out Corona and replaces it with Chinese in his notes with his fabulous sharpie. Hes also calling for open armed rebellion in certain Democratic-led states with his insane tweets today. Hes a despicable dictator wannabe.
But fortunately we have checks and balances that keep him from achieving that, had it been true and not some embellished critical and political attack.

The city states prime minister announced a lockdown would be extended by four weeks until 1 June. Denmark the current ban on gatherings of more than 10 people will stay in place until 10 May. UK cases are rising again. Georgia and several other southern US states are moving to ease lockdown restrictions as early as this week, as sporadic protests erupt in other states over the strict measures governors have enacted to tackle coronavirus. Let them, that will make less stupid rednecks to vote for Trump. Don't fight this, help make them go out and commit suicide. That will be enough less Trump votes to keep him from being reelected. Same for Wisconsin, Michigan, Minnesota and Virginia. If you don't like Trump, stay at home, keep your distance, wait for the Trump voters to reduce their count.

This was inevitable, unfortunately. With the likes of iStock Premium Access, Envato Elements and Storyblocks gaining traction and their collections growing, other companies must respond or risk losing their share of the pie. For as long as there are contributors that are willing to feed these companies (and these will always be) this process will continue and other companies will eventually follow (such as Pond5's HyperStock). This, it seems, is the natural process of evolution in the stock video industry driven by the massive growth in supply that far outpace the demand. In the end, we have nobody but ourselves to blame for this process.
Looks like nearly everyone overlooked your smart reply answer about the business. When things don't go the way someone expects, it's only natural to blame someone else. Microstockers are very good at that.

Over the last two weeks I tried submitting only one or two pics at a time, only the best, during daylight, full frame sensor, in my opinion no technical problems.
All rejected for noise.
I give up with shutterstock.
At least for the moment.
Does seem to be strange on SS lately. Now bar code and QR rejections are showing.

The CDC has reversed its recommendations about using face masks as the coronavirus pandemic develops.
You left out the part where Trump told everyone it was voluntary several times, and also said several times he wont be wearing one, while standing right next to all his cronies.
It is voluntary, the CDC isn't Trump, who cares about Trump, he can wear a mask or not. The CDC says recommended that we now wear masks. Trump can go die with no mask and make people happy.

dreamser...you are just considering that nothing change....video already see many subscription model with cheap price 1,5 dollar per sale, near photo but sale for video are not comparable, probably one video eery 1000 photo if not more....the same as motion graphic illustration, probably considering the crisis there will be even more competition...everybod living photo for video and motion graphic, the same pressure on price, high offer low demand....it-s a fact...in addiction while more complex motion design is not nuclear science...in easter europe there are zillions people doing this. so don-t believe a lot on your idea.

Depositphotos was founded by Dmitry Sergeev in November 2009 in Kiev, Ukraine. iStokc pays us 15% and you are calling microstock dead. The companies are making good money from microstock and people like you who give them pictures.

I've had many of my ideas ripped by other contributors, but I have never seen a direct copy of my work.
Yeah, simple ideas and concepts can't be protected. Complex setups, in a photo, might be.
But no way anyone should be able to make a copy, small modifications and upload as their own. That stinks.
I dont know if terrible but he is on first page on every single search that include one of his keywords. Try it yourself. He is doing great! Using bugs without consequences pays off great.

Here's an idea, if that works and you'll be on the first page for every keyword in your images, by having 50 two word keywords, just do it. Think of all the money you'll make being on the first page of every search for 100 different words?

Looks like you need some help, here it is, try this searches: "angry", "confused", "amazed", "scared", "excited", "happy", "joyful"......
just search for photos with people.
those images sells like crazy.
you don't even need to put "woman", "man" or "business" or any other filter.
if you searched for "vector icons" of course you dont find him, he doesnt do vectors.
and no, i wont do it, because it's against the rules.

Last year I had my best year ever on Alamy for sales; but my gross earnings (from my dashboard graph) were 22% down on 2018.
Relatively poor January 2020, nothing yet in Feb.
Income is down for me too. Commissions, RPD is down on Alamy too. More sales than most years, less money.
Biggest single sale was a food shot from almost ten years ago, that has no sales anywhere else in that time. Gross $125 50%, Alamy is totally unpredictable and not Microstock. But also just like you said, lower and lower, every year.
But I'll promise you, I've never made a sale off an image on my hard drive that wasn't uploaded.

I was and still am a Car freak. I had 2 ferraris. a 72 Dino coupe and also a 74 Daytona. Both red. I paid $17,000 for the Dino and $24,000 for the Daytona. The Dino Now is worth $340,000 and the Daytona a Cool 600,000 also a Jaguar 1956 XKE 140 coupe I paid $6,000 for it in 1961 and Now??? 500K at Least. and........4 Ex Wives........LOL Live and Learn. The Dino was rented By the TV show "Hart to Hart" with Robert Wagner: 1979 to 1984.

So, I did a little research on my top selling set of photos. There's about 12 main photos in that set that sell and they are all closely subject-related.
Shutterstock only gives you the percentage of keywords used over all the downloads, so you don't really know how many times each word was used. And they don't always give you any of the keywords, which is a huge inconsistency. But I was lucky that all 12 photos did have key words and percentages listed.
Dreamstime also doesn't always give you the keywords used to find your photo, but I went through 20 pages to get the keywords to the photos.
Of those photos, there were 46 different keywords used to find them. 25 of those words were used more frequently (but it's hard to tell how much more due to the lack of info given).
Since I was just about the upload a few more photos to that set, I just checked the keywords and I definitely see where I want to switch up some of the words. I'm still going with 50, but just not the same 50.
46 different keywords used to find 12 related photos on DT? Do those mean sales or views? What are the # of different words on the same photos on SS?

rejections are not a problems..the problems is the collapsing of sale over 38 cent...rpd is collapsing...i don't care if they reject something....all in all most new content don'tsell at all because nobody is so idiot to search for new files...make any search first with new then with relevant...who in the world would mess looking for a usable file using the new tabs?...the problem is 99 % of sale are sub. and not only here in general...i'm up 35 % sale in all agency down 200 % in terms of dollar so far...i need 10 times more images sold than last year to match the dollar. time to ficus n rm for agency like westend and offset...microstock is collapsing.

considering that from 2016 to 2019 the growth is minimal, and last year practically zero, and considering that they added 10 million images a week it's clear this business is finished from a contributor perspective. it's not case that last year of going earning is 2016, last year new images sell and still sell very good is 2016., that from 2016 my earning are exactly the same plus minus 2 3 per cent, it's not a surprise....they simply throw away money accepting every crap in the last two year without any sense. they are not growing at all. next year will see this chart will begin downward in the typical bell shape.

I realize Im not the first to talk about this and I understand its a very competitive business for microstock companies but, seriously, $24.05 for 63 photos sold on Shutterstock, nothing too encouraging for a newbie like me. Rant over, thanks for listening.
Did you research the selling rates before signing up?
No, I just based my decision on the Microstock Poll Results and started submitting to the top 6 (excluding iStock). I currently have an approx 300-500 photo port depending on the sites.

Even if it wasn't for the people who deliberately post false results, you have no way of knowing what media the people posting honest figures are submitting: so they might only submit video, or only illos, or a mixture so have no relevance to your port.
I'm not sure what other information you could base it on that would give a different result other than trial and error. The only anomaly is pond 5 as thats really a video specialist.
I meant more research would have meant he knew the prices to expect. So i this case, he might have been happily surprised that not all his SS sales were 25c ones. In particular, if he feels that sales of $1 - $8 are reasonable, and that's more Important than overall totals, he could have chosen where to submit accordingly.
Not that that helps with falling prices at e.g. Alamy, but it could have been a starting point and avoided this disappointment.
As the OP says he didn't read all the details, I'll just say that Alamy sales prices are quoted gross, as we've had a number of other people who haven't realised that then been disappointed down the line. If you already know that, that's good.
My Alamy results are real, not gross, How do you assume to know what everybody else reports?
