If i were you ill try to see this as a big picture, not in therms of a couple of days. Im pretty new in the bussines, but i realized that to see good results, i have to concentrate more in working new ideas that watching the daily incomes. And of course when i check my numbers i do it in monthly periods, not day by day

I feel quite good so far for a new site, but also have notices a slow down in last couple weeks. I have 265 images on-line, 49 sales so far an 135.70 U$ revenue, today i had an EL for 35 U$. The bad news is that 100 U$ are from US citizens, so i will have a 5% deduction from that. Opposite to SS where only a 15% or so of my sales are from US. BTW, can we ask for a payment, or did i read somewhere it has yet to be implemented on the web? or maybe its automatic like SS or 123rf?

You are using textures not big enought in your renders even at the size you rendered, so forget render them at biger size. You should always use big enough textures to the size you are going to output the render, otherwise it will shaow the pixelation as happened in these cases.

Hello: I asked for my last payout the 1st of september, and still nothing. if you look the payout calendar this past tuesday 8 was a paypal payout day, it was exactly one week after i send the ticket, so how much time prior to a payout day one have to send the tiket in order to get paid in that day? isnt a hole week enought time?
Just out of curiosity, how often do you request payouts there? i was asking once a month in every site just to see at first galnce in the picniche toolbar how i was going for the month, but im starting to think would be good to ask a couple of payout for month (in the sites i earn enough of course)

I haven't received the e-mail, but from what I read here I can't see anywhere that they really want the images for free.
They mention that they want them for a specific usage not covered by their (i.e. Shutterstock's) current licence. So why not just treat that e-mail as a request for your approval of that usage (including you providing a price tag for that)? Why not just write back that you are happy to be chosen for such a great opportunity and that you would happily grant them the right to use your pictures in the intended way if, and only if they buy an (or maybe two or three because of the extended usage terms) extended licences. And that, with the same conditions, you would happily include all other files within your portfolio for such usage?
Their reply to such a response would be really interesting...
Hey dirkr: what you say is exactly the doubt i had when i started the thread, i dont relly understand if they are asking me the image for free, or if the current EL license is not enough for the usage they want and so they are asking permission to the owner individually. I will write back with some questions and let you all know what they say to me. cheers.

yhea what most of you say is what i though when i saw the mail, is just that english is not my main lenguage and wasnt very shure if i understood good (thay are basically asking for my image for free), i had a doubt about if they needed my explicit permission even buing an EL (or as much EL as copys they would redistribute). I dint realise when i open de thread, but now i see the mail is send by Shutterstock, now im confussed. So is this some kind of new way shuttersock uses to give our images for free or what? i will write back asking some things i dont understand on the mail. Cheers

Hello Todey i recieve this email:
"Dear Pablo ...
Congrats! One of your designs has been selected by Googles Blogger.com to be used in one of their new blog templates. Please read this entire email and send us back your approval if you want to be included in this great opportunity for exposure on Blogger.com.
Here is the image Blogger.com selected to use for a template design:
....
Blogger.com may also want to include additional images as blog templates or backgrounds. They want the rights to modify, redistribute, and use your image in commercial blog templates. Please let me know if there are any additional images you would be willing to include in this program.
Whats in it for you? Blogger will provide your credit on all templates containing your art. Also, every blog that uses a template with your image will have a link back to your Shutterstock gallery URL. The images on Blogger.com will be displayed at a size larger than our current license allows of 800x600 pixels. Blogger.com may display images as large as 1600x1200 pixels. In addition, Blogger.com cannot guarantee that bloggers will not attempt to alter the template HTML to remove the links to your gallery.
Blogger.com gets hundreds of millions of pageviews a day and has millions of active users. We see this as a great opportunity to drive traffic to your Shutterstock gallery.
Please write back to confirm your approval to be included in this program along with the images you are approving.
Best regards,"
So... what do you think of this? Im not shure wht are they asking me the permission, couldnt they just purchase an EL and use it for that, or is there always a limitation on redistributing the image on blogs. Or maybe they are just ting to get the image free, i dont know if this is really a good oportunity or just a way to get your image copied millons of times with no payback.
Any thoughs or experiencies on this?
Cheers

I have 230 images on line. the most viewed image has 35 views and 2 sales =5.25$ totaly around 6~8 sales so far (didnt count them) and 3 of them are 5.25$ for 1 purchase. At this point its sure better for me than my 2 lower earners, BS and 123rf. Lets see what happens when the statics page is finally implemented and we can see a hole month of sales. Cheers

Magnum: No is not like that. That is a monthly fee you pay for been self employed to the social security (that is the service that give us the right to medical ensurance or for our future retirement plan) its something olbigatory to pay when you are in any kind of econimic activity. Apart from that is the taxes that of course you will also have to pay in relation to your earnings. Lets put an example of someone who has a day job, he is employed by "X" company, so he is allready paying that monthly fee that is automatically deducted from the payroll and also partially paid by the employer, but if he want to sell photos in microstock at his spare time, then he would need to start a parallel selfemployed activity for this, thus having to pay and extra monthly fee of 350U$. (as counterpart for this, i guess in the future he would have a higher retirment plan)

Yeah, self employed, thats what i mean, in order to be self-employed (autonomo) i need to pay a monthly fee of around 250 (350 U$) to the social security. My point is not even my particular situation, (because i am allready self employed) i do freelance job as CG architectural visualizatior. My point is that theres no room in this bussines to particualr people who just want to sell some of their photos (exactly what these pages avdertise) and exactly what i thought more of the people here or in other forums are. I really doubt everybody in this bussines is in this situation, so my big surprise. Its hard to try explain this in foreign lenguage.

Thats what i thought i should do also, somo kind of declaration in the anual tax report, as this is my first year in micro i was quite confident i dont need to do anithing untill then, but now i think that roght way to register as a bussines, not as a choice aor advantage, but as an obligation, as we are making an activity that earns us money as any other. So if i dont register as bussines i can not declare this earnings. Im still shocked by this
