I've encouraged my 17 years old son to create photos using Midjourney for AS. He doesn't know anything about photography. He started uploading images to my AS account 3 months ago, here are the number of sales (remember he's novice): April: 27 sales May: 51 sales June (till 9): 28 sales He now has 1500 files online (260 under review) and he's planning to upload 500 - 1000 images per month. I do videos mainly, but I have had around 300 images online for years, and he already exceeded my number of sales for images.
Updated numbers (really interesting experiment) ...
Congrats
That's really a good start!
Looks like he found out that the idea behind the images plays a decisive role: once I realized it my sales skyrocketed (this week a single image got me $21.25 and another $26.40)
In which stock agencies do you upload AI content to?

Don't you need to pay commission from sales to Midjourney? I remember saw it in their licencing.
In order to "own" your output from Midjourney, you have to have a paid subscription plan - otherwise they own it. "If You are not a Paid Member, You dont own the Assets You create. Instead, Midjourney grants You a license to the Assets under the Creative Commons Noncommercial 4.0 Attribution International License (the Asset License)."
You can see the plans they offer here:
https://docs.midjourney.com/docs/plans
"If you have subscribed at any point, you are free to use your images in just about any way you want. If you are a company making more than $1,000,000 USD in gross revenue per year, you must purchase the Pro plan. For complete details please see the Terms of Service"
As noted above, I don't see anything in the terms of service about paying Midjourney, other than the subscription. They do note that if you're sued you're on your own (their words are different, but that's the gist of it)
How is the Basic Plan different from the Standard Plan? Which plan is best for us?

And for some reason Adobe doesn't pay me $1 for a photo. Although I have a lot of photos that adobe chose, but did not nominate.

...We need a comparable percentage of sales. .... I look forward to similar comparisons from those who sell content with AI.
why would anyone reply to the suggestions of someone who may not even HAVE a portfolio!
continued complaining when you don't give actual examples from a portfolio make it impossible for AS or others to respond to questions.
I didn't complain, I answered the question.

So AI content that is mislabeled as real photos has a higher chance of selling, simply because it is easier to be found. Why else do you think Facebook is full of groups discussing how to get away with labeling AI content as real photos? Why do you think people purposefully mislabel their content, if there is nothing to gain from it?
These questions should be answered by MatHayward. At least these are at least reasonable questions. Links to Facebook groups where they teach how to deceive adobe can you post here? Well, as for what sells better, it's the authors who should write here. We need a comparable percentage of sales. For example, in a month the author sold 1,000 real photos with a total portfolio of 15,000, which means that he sold 6.7%. And he sold 200 photos created by AI with a portfolio of 2000, which is equal to 10%. I look forward to similar comparisons from those who sell content with AI.

Didn't receive email from adobe. How can I find out how many photos have been selected?

1. Why do you all think that non-AI labeled content sells better than AI labeled content?
1211
« on: June 25, 2023, 15:34 »
And what does MatHayward have to do with it?
He works for Adobe and is our only means of communicating with Adobe on this froum. So, when we have questons or concerns regarding Adobe, who else are we suppposed to address here than him?
You need to ask normal and correct questions, and not write a stream of hysteria. Many of the questions are completely stupid.
I did not ask these questions. And I do not think they are stupid at all, but real concern Adobe needs to address.
What is the problem with adobe? - Has the duration of the check increased. Besides Adobe, there are many stock agencies that sell AI content.

In short, do not hysteria.
Psychiatrization is an easily accessible method for people who do not have the strength of arguments. You haven't proven anything in your post. Btw, it seems to be you shoot videos for stock, not photography or illustrations.
I wrote everything correctly, there is definitely hysteria. Well, I also sell photos, too, a little. And what's stopping you from making videos too?

Hi everyone,
I'm announcing a big update in the workflow for those of you submitting generative AI images to Adobe Stock. With the successful launch of the search filter and generative AI display in the customer facing site, we are no longer requiring you add "generative AI" to your title or keywords. Effective immediately, you can stop adding "generative AI" to your title and keywords if you prefer.
It is VERY important you continue to select the "created using generative AI tools" checkbox and that you submit your generative AI content as an illustration. Let me know if you have any questions.
Thank you,
Mat Hayward
Do you realize that no one of AI uploaders is forced to select that option ? Do you realize that yellow bar in upload section does nothing to force them to upload AI content as they are pleased to ? Do you realize that AI content is uploaded even as photos ? And there is nothing to stop AI uploaders to do so ? Do you realize that AI content is uploaded even as vectors ? And there is nothing to stop AI uploaders to do so ? Simply look at new photos or vectors in collection, you'll see what I am talking about. Do you realize that there is various groups on social media that are posting, on daily bases, basically content with how to F**K Adobe and submit AI content? Do you realize how much it is demotivational for your contributors to wait 28 days for moderation and we all know that cause of that is AI pandemic ? Do you realize how much it is demotivational for your photo/vector/illustration contributors to see that blurry AI "art" with deformed faces and hands are accepted ? Do you realize how much your AI acceptance with no quality standards harm your photo/vector/illustration contributors ?
And what does MatHayward have to do with it? Does he decide whether or not to accept AI content? What are you so afraid of, competition? About 10 years ago, stock site databases began to grow, and everyone was screaming that everyone would go bankrupt, that income would fall, etc. Outside the window is 2023, and bases of several tens of millions of content do not greatly affect the income of authors. At the expense of AI content, which one of the authors does not mark as AI content, well, here on the forum I have already discussed this issue, programs that create AI add this information to the file metadata. As a result, such an author will be banned from Adobe. Not to mention the fact that there will not be many such authors initially. In short, do not hysteria.

Yes, their parents love seeing them surfing. Many thanked me. And many have signed model release. Thanks.
Tell us more about your release signing technology. Do you shoot any random people? Do you pay people to sign a release? Do you give people your video?
I don't have to tell you everything. Figure it out by yourself. Stay with the topic of third party uploader. I won't respond any further otherwise.
FileZilla - and no Blackbox or Wirestock needed.

Do you make 6 digits with less of 2000 downloads on envato elements? yes or no? Does any of the people you know on artgrid makes 6 digits with less of 2000 downloads? yes or no?
What is 6 digits? Is it 100,000 dollars? I don't count the number of downloads, I only count the dollars Envato pays me. And Envato pays me a lot more than Pond5. I also have a lot less videos on Envato than on Pond5. What are we to talk about? You do not sell videos on Envato.
Thanks for your response. It was very enlightening for the differences of opinion we were having. Btw you can find how many sales you made on earnings/item_sales page. On Artgrid they don't tell you how much downloads/sales you make. They only give you one payment at the end of the year.
I am happy Envato works better for you. For my portfolio it's exactly the opposite. Wish all the best for your sales!
I'm not interested in the number of sales or downloads and efficiency, I'm not a statistician. I'm only interested in money. And if my videos are downloaded on envato elements even 1 million times in one day, I dont care. I only look at the total amount of money envato and other similar stocks are paying me. You link to your portfolio all the time. But as I understand it, you have never sold your videos on subscription stocks, but nevertheless you claim that subscription stocks are nonsense. Are you making $100,000? Subscription stocks and standard stocks are completely different markets, and buyers are also basically different everywhere. Keeping a count of the number of downloaded videos and calculating the efficiency for comparison is not the right approach. You only need to compare the total amount of money that stocks pay at the end of the month.

This guy has only about 200 clips on Artgrid, but made $4,000 in 2021 he says. That's actually very high revenue per clip. But also he says revenue per download is only about $0.50. So, I think it all comes down to whatever you are comfortable with. Those who are selling on Artgrid tend not to be traditional stock video creators. They are filmmakers who put their footages on Artgrid.

Yes, Artgrid has very specific content in my opinion. But here on Storyblocks the content is the most common, as well as on other stocks.

This is all theory and has nothing to do with practice. Your opinion is not interesting because you have never sold your video on Artgrid or Storyblocks. There is such a Netflix service, the subscription costs little money, but Netflix earns a lot of money in the end. The same goes for Artgrid or Storyblocks. Yes, there are buyers who pay a lot of money and buy videos on Pond5 or shutterstock, and there are still a lot of people (millions) who buy a subscription to Artgrid or Storyblocks. In general, I know video sellers on Artgrid or Storyblocks and I know what to write about here, but you dont know sellers on Artgrid or Storyblocks. Goodbye.
If you read carefully what you wrote you will realize what you say applies to you. you don't sell there and it's just theory or talk from people you say you know. On the other hand i do know how many downloads we need to make on artgrid to make 6 digits but i won't tell you to not spoil your dream or fantasy. Cheers!
I sell on other subscription stocks like Envato Elements and more. And I know how much money I get from Envato. Your firm is not the only subscriber to artgrid. There are many subscribers and everyone pays for a subscription. Also, your example is off topic at all. If I've talked to those who sell their videos on Artgrid or Storyblocks, then you haven't even done that.

That's bad news for the Blackbox account.
I propose to ban Blackbox. Through this service, it is very easy for scammers to sell stolen goods.

Personally, I like the conditions from 123. Any AI-generated content using my images will be profitable for me. Adobe should do the same.

If you sell on Artgrid and Storyblocks your income is much higher than your income on Pond5 and other stocks too.
I would like to know what you are relying on to guarantee what you say. Just your portfolio? If it's just that, it's not enough.
Let's be modest, shall we? maybe it works for you, not for me.
The only problem is that it is almost impossible to get on Artgrid or Storyblocks,
Good thing they don't let practically anyone in.
Do you sell videos on Artgrid and Storyblocks? I'm based on the information I've been told by people who sell videos there.
Of course, it's good that the authors are not allowed, especially when you are already there, this is logical.
Fortunately I don't sell on Artgrid. But i am aware of how it works well to a Small Producer Company with less than 30 employees where i work as a freelancer. They download daily roughly 100 clips and pay 50$/month for it.
I had a Videoblocks client account turned into Storyblocks account. Once I did upload 800 clips i did not sent to curators when i found out it was unlimited downloads. I ended up deleting all the clips and closing the account. It is not profitable to me.
But let's do the math. In theory 600$ cost for 36400 videos/ year on Artgrid. Profit is huge for them is it not? The only thing that companies complain is lack of diversity so they usually go spend in others microstock sites after a while because they cannot present same videos to the clients each month. How many downloads do you think a contributor needs to do on Artgrid to make 6 digits?
Now let's do the math with the other side of the coin. I can tell you that you can make nearly 6 digits with less than 2000 downloads in limited download sites.
The rule of a big/medium/small company to make profit is how to save money. So first they drain all they can from these sites. Afterwards they will go to others sites to find the diversity they need in the videos. Once i got to know how these clients think i immediately understood i could get a better return for a clip in other sites. Occasionally i even sell them directly instead using my microstock account which is even more profitable to me. This is how they work: cycle of 3/4 years. They combine an unlimited download site with single sales from other sites. First they had Artgrid, then videoblocks, then Storyblocks and now Artgrid (again) combining it with SS, P5 and Adobe.
You missed my point of "Good thing they don't let practically anyone in"... Less people there, less clips there, less thieves and more fast companies will move on to other sites once "the unlimited" pond runs dry.
This is all theory and has nothing to do with practice. Your opinion is not interesting because you have never sold your video on Artgrid or Storyblocks.
