I'd at least like the ability to actually organize sets!

127
It will arrive but text here:  'We have some exciting updates coming up for our Shutterstock contributors. These will help our customers get to know you a bit more and enable you to better showcase your great work!

We cant share any details beyond that (for now) but we highly recommend you take another look at your Shutterstock Portfolio page.

Make sure you have an updated (larger) profile photo, add your website plus any social media handles, and tell us more about yourself by updating your tagline and creating a bio. You also might want to get your image and footage sets tidied up - especially the footage ones *hint hint*.

Go give your portfolio page some TLC and stay tuned for some exciting updates coming your way!'

Just seen the email. Update your profile etc etc etc.
Brace yourselves guys....

Canva / Re: More ''Good news'' from Canva :-/
« on: October 08, 2019, 01:54 »
They are definitely liars. I remember not long ago the deactivation of fotolia files when they created the dollar Photo Club.

Anyone who sells their entire portfolio for $ 12 is an idiot auction that only deserves to be downloaded by a pirate and resold.

The idea has always been 'single USE' within a Canva production. That is, the full res image was not actually downloaded to the client. Has that changed? Can people actually download for future use - in anything?

Someone doesn't know what similar means. I just got one shot of food from directly above accepted and every other view of it rejected. Apparently side view and top view are "too similar".

That's my problem too.....
One item/setup - one image allowed.
:(

131
Telepathy rules!
Good news!
:)

PS I was at 7,777 downloads!

132
Only for Gold.
:(
To them that hath and all that.
:(
How can I see how many downloads I have had (not just ranking - actual number of dls) please.

133
Grrrrr...yes.....the new Similar policy means that if I send up two views of an object or series of objects from very different angles, then one gets rejected.
Similarly, if I send up two variations on an Illustration, then one gets rejected.
Grrrr....
The bright side?
It worries me less than it would have done in the past because sales are now so low.
SS used to be out and away the best and most important site, so not having images there had an impact. Now....I just feel rather irritated!

On the subject of titles and keywords I wonder with the AI software getting better and better is soon it will be better for that to be automated and done by the agency.

Right now you have people who are new at this and just learning and might get thousands of video or photo files tagged wrong or you have the spammers doing it on purpose and at the end of the day no one can find anything. Not everyone is an expert at thi but this is a library and if stuff is not filed properly it won't be found.

AI is still rubbish. See Adobe thread above.

Anybody know what Enterprise Revenue is?

Watch out though - the easiest way to boost profits in the short term to make shareholders happy would be to edge the algorithm towards 25c sales....
customers then leave due to having to search pages of dross for a good image...
general revenues fall....
commissions get cut to boost profits....
rinse and repeat.

Or am I just in a negative mood today?

So message to the OP: don't use Daz renders unless they are your own.

Hmmmm....do you mean you copy somebody else's Daz models for your illos?

I would have thought that was a BIG no-no.

Your work must be all your own. You might have a licence to use the Daz model, but unless you created it, then you are not the copyright holder. It does say real or private purposes in any case. Turning it into a stock illustration doesn't sound quite like what the owner has in mind.

Or am I misunderstanding? Did you create the original renders?

Is there ANY WAY on ESP to see at a glance how much sales were in a month?

I know there is one column (Premium Access and RF - whatever these might be in the real world!) with just 2 numbers to add together to find the total - but surely somewhere there is a 'grand total' (for want of a better phrase) for the month?

Or not....

https://esp.gettyimages.com/app/stats/downloads

Mine is showing the "Exciting" July results  ::)

Here's the place Sue advised you to look at  Summary = Statement.......

Thanks, very helpful. I have set up Todayis20.

Can I just confirm that July1st statement which was released 20th August (more or less) relates to June sales. Just to be clear.....

Ta! :)

PS RPD 70cents. But even my 'best sellers' have sold so little......sales must be spread very thin..... Oh well.

In the Royalties tab click on the Summary link, middle of the left hand three links. Your default month start date should currently be July 1st 2019 and the total earned in July is given as 'Payment Amount'.

Thanks but just for info - the glitch with this is that when you don't reach payment (!) it shows zero as it is just a record of monies being paid by them to us and not sales.

Still useful but a different thing.

Can't see why anybody would really want a pipeline to peanuts-paying Getty but there you are.....

In my albeit limited experience, sales on 500px used to be ok, then went to occasional pennies, now to zilch.

No idea about Eyeem.

Rework.....

I shoot a fair few insect and bug images and take care to keyword correctly with the Latin names. But when I checked the DT site recently, I found these had gone from keywords, though they remained in title and/or description.
Has anybody else noticed this?
Is it now normal?
Was it always normal and I just didn't notice?
Does it matter (given that sales are, in any case, pretty rare occurrences these days)????

Truly truly truly awful this last week. Sudden plummet....
Every day is a weekend...except I am working. :(
Here's hoping for an algorithm change - soon!

iStockPhoto.com / Re: Deep Meta query. Help please.
« on: July 25, 2019, 14:06 »
Thanks Franky - that's a better solution! :)
The only thing is that they then seem to be set up for Upload rather than Edit - but it seems I can still edit them anyway. Just for info....will now go and edit and upload them! Ta!

Edited to add: I know Deep Meta must know how many images there are in a batch, but I think it only tell me when the number allowed is exceeded. With the fix above this is not a big issue. But it would be nice to see in advance if possible....
