Thank you Mat,
As I got all the creative apps I have a question:
I already have a subscription for photoshop and lightroom on the same account, will this payment stop automatically or do I have to cancel this subscription?
This question has been asked in a couple of different ways here and the answer applies to all. If the subscription you currently have is EXACTLY the same as the new subscription provided with the bonus code, then you can redeem the bonus code and the expiration date will simply extend by 1 year.
If however, the subscription you have is different in any way (such as the amount of cloud storage included) then redeeming the bonus code will open a new subscription running in parallel with the old one. You need to cancel the old subscription or you will continue to pay for it.
As many of you have discovered, the codes are applied to the contributor portal for those who have qualified. Thank you to everyone for your active contribution and helping to make Adobe Stock what it is. We are truly grateful to you for your efforts and hope you enjoy the year of Creative Cloud!
As always, stay creative!
Mat Hayward
Mat, Based on my experience, it can be tricky. I thought my current plan was the "generic photography plan". However, I did run into the parallel subscription issue. I think what may have happened is that the "generic photography plan" of a year ago is not exactly the same as the "generic photography plan" of today....so I ended up with a parallel subscription.

Okay, my current Photography plan expires October 2024. I just redeemed my new code (photography plan). Instead of extending my current plan, it left my current plan intact (expiring on 10/24) and added a 2nd plan which expires 2/25. This is not what I wanted! I wanted to just extend out my current plan.
How do I fix this?
Thanks (I do appreciate the bonus btw)
I contacted support and they seem to be taking care of this. The lesson learned is that apparently when you use a code, the plan stars immediately, even if you already have an active plan.

If someone (US based) has a subscription to the "Photography Plan" (PS + LR) are they being allocated some number of "generative credits" per month or is it still open ended at this point?

Between ss, pond5, backgrid and others ss has a very good editorial offering. So why are sales, especially editorial video sales dropping so strongly?
The exclusive pond5 content alone should be a large pull for buyers?
What is the alternative in editorial for customers?
Getty? Is Getty/istock showing a strong increase in editorial sales?
The customers must license from somewhere, editorial can not be replaced with ai.
I'm sticking with my theory that perhaps SS really cut back on advertising spending in certain markets.

Seems ok to me. Perhaps they want more depth of field? I feel that they should be more specific about rejections like this. I have also encountered some editorial rejections seemingly for no clear reason.

Seems the Adobestock 1099 values are based on $$$ of record at the end of each calendar month (summed to one yearly value) and not on how/when the contributor takes their payouts?
That's the way I've understood it to be, for many years. I make a payout request around Dec. 26th each year, so the numbers are close, depending on which accounting method is used. I don't see earnings that I don't have as earnings.
What if someone doesn't make payout, for four years, like DT. Are they supposed to pay taxes on the earnings, that they might never receive?
I use the numbers of what any agency actually paid me, during the tax year.
But yes, it appears that Adobe counts earnings, not payments to the artist.
I think things would be more consistent if Adobe had fixed payout dates like some of the other major agencies and managed the 1099s in a way that the reported earnings on the 1099s match-up exactly with actual payouts for the year. Some of the other major agencies seem to do that and it all works out quite well....1099 numbers match actual payouts for the year.

Indeed AS was great in January. Best month on AS since 2018 (not counting the AI bonus from September 2023)
Is there a way for a contributor to see what the exact amount of the "AI Bonus" was? Never mind, figured it out!

Was able to retrieve mine. Do we know how Adobe computes the number? Is it purely based on payouts in the calendar year of 2023?

Mat,
Is the Adobe "vendor number" the same as our "Member ID" on our contributor account page?
Thanks

**UPDATE** Was able to download my 1099M Form today.
How did you access your Shutterstock 1099?....I don't see any links when I log in.

For me SS is providing 4 digits income and in the same time i see a 25-30% increase in reveneu from Adobe, 0 AI prompts in my portfolio.
It seems this "revenue reduction" many of us US based contributors are seeing (and is reflected in the poll results) is geographically dependent. My best guess is that perhaps SS is spending its marketing dollars differently in different parts of the world? Other agencies have been more or less on an "even keel", whereas SS has dropped like a rock for some (US based?) contributors.

As I recall, you are not in the US. It seems this "revenue reduction" many of us are seeing (and is reflected in the poll results) is geographically dependent. My best guess is that perhaps SS is spending its marketing dollars differently in different parts of the world.

Isn't that almost like asking are there so many photos that it's not worth the time uploading photos?

Are you U.S. based?

I asked in German groups and there are still producers with around the same sales as the years before.
Perhaps this is mostly a problem in the US markets?
How are the Europeans here doing?
and only few/some folk in the US - many of us have seen little decrease - and there's still copious anti-SS venom polluting the waters of discussion
I think it's more than a few folk. Otherwise SS wouldn't have consistently dropped so much in the "Earnings Rating" column at the right of the page.

Makes you wonder what is going on. Perhaps advertising spending is being cut back and there is some kind of change coming?

When submitting AI assets to Adobestock, do folks classify as "Photos" or "Illustration"?
I would think if the image is truly "photorealistic" than it would be classed as "photo", otherwise "illustration"? There is definitely a large "grey area". What have folks been doing in this regard?
