I wondered if at some time in the future they may merge the two sites. I want to have as many as possible istock rejects on the SX site if that happens! May never happen, but you never know, Getty seem mad enough to do it.

I would have to toss a coin between Fotolia and Dreamstime. Both have their advantages. I would like to say Featurepics, but I will wait and see what happens there in the next few weeks.

Complaining about them is not going to increase your sales or what is the real reason for complaining...
To bring to their attention that things are going wrong so that they can correct them. If no-one ever complained, they would not know that anything is wrong, and nothing would ever get put right.

I really like BS. Consistent sales, regular payouts, I fly past the payout limit every month, and I have always found their reviewers fair. I have about a 93% acceptance rate. Could be higher but early on I tried some shots that I knew were not perfect, but thought could sneak past. They gave me lost of good advice in the early days. You only have to ask! They are very responsive to queries.

Yes, it's definitely dead. Now all stop uploading and go and do something else. (And let me have all the sales )

I am still getting good sales there, and while the sales last I will carry on uploading, although they are further down my priority list.

I just took a look, but the fact that they use ratings puts me off. I don't want to go down that road again!

I hope my relationship with the sites is on a more professional basis than that of a parasite and host. We both benefit, so it cannot be a parasitic relationship. No one here uploads their pictures for nothing. If you think it is a scam, like the Nigerians, then stop uploading. Simple.
What I do feel is lacking in the case of some of the agencies, is respect.
What I feel is wrong is to put all the agencies under one label. Some are much better than others. My recent interaction with three different smaller agencies has been great, leaving me feeling that they are people who care.
I was looking for a word like racism that applies to stock agencies. I don't think it has been invented yet, but it is what we a doing here.

Keith got in touch with me by email. It was great of him to take the trouble. All problems sorted out. (It was probably me anyway! )

Hi Krusty,
I am with Photonation. They are lovely friendly people, but the stuff they mainly sell is editorial. They are used a lot by the BBC and national newspapers. It costs something like 12 (cannot really remember but it was not much, just a token amount) to have your pictures on the site. I am trying it for a year, but at the current rate of sales I won't renew it when it runs out

Its a lovely feeling when you open that new box! Have fun with your camera, and take lots of great stock pictures.

I left there after their number one photographer went through my portfolio marking everything as a 1. Why this chap (called Haglunddaniel) wanted to hurt my sales so much I have no ides, i had never come across him before. I decided then that ratings that were open to such vindictive acts were really flawed, and I will not upload any more. The site is a joke.

hi there, can you please tell me how can i sell some of my clicked photographs. thanks Ace
Print them out and go get a stall on the local market. Seriously, this whole site is about selling pictures, if you need to ask this question you have not been paying attention!

Flowers, cats, dogs and holiday snaps, all sell like crazy.
Only joking.
If we knew what was going to be the top seller in the next month we could all be rich. 3d art sells well for me.
What progrome do you use for 3d?
It depends what I am doing. I have Bryce, 3dsMax and Carrera. I also do a lot in Photoshop.

Hi, nice to see new people around. The Daz site has a forum for Bryce, but I don't go there often so I don't know how expert it is. http://www.daz3d.com/i/community/0?_m=d

If new uploads doesn't have visits or downloads because customers don't like them...whats the matter? Do pictures what customers are interested in. That's not the problem of StockXpert.
It is not because customers don't like them. It is because the customers are not getting to see them at all.

Not nuts, just unaware.
My sister did a similar thing with a family shot. She didn't even know she could resize a picture, has never used Photoshop or any editing program, and certainly never thought the picture could have any value to anyone else. I got her to take it down and 'educated' her.
Uploading to social sites has become too easy!

I would agree with you artistic work does have a place, and sells well, but not for an initial submission. The OP has been looking at the Veer site, where established contributors have uploaded cutting edge stuff. There is some fantastic stuff on there. However, he is contributing to the Marketplace, where we are not so sure what will be acceptable and what will be rejected out of hand. He should play safe to begin with, until he has been accepted.

Go for regular stock images. You are uploading to the Marketplace, not the regular Veer macro site. The Marketplace is not full active for a while yet.

My subscription sales are running at 90% this year. I stopped uploading there some time ago.

They will catch up, picture them burning the midnight oil! My FTP problems were solved this morning. I didn't do anything, so Veer must have fixed something. I like the upload and keywording system. Very easy to use when it got going. Lets all cross our fingers for lots and lots of sales.
