Not a good month, I am not surprised.

But it's still far more reliable than Alamy. At least I get monthly payment with 3000+ images and a handful clips.

Where did you see the statement? I checked DM and ESP website and could not find the data.

Thanks.

Does anyone know where I can find Franky?

I have some problems with DM and emailed him. It's been about a month, he hasn't replied yet.

My initial problem was I could not make any submissions.

Then when I tried to add my iStockphoto login in my DM, it worked. But my general ESP authentication failed. I did not make any changes to the user ID and password because they are remembered by the system.

Thanks, SS.

I have sent Franky an email. DM keeps uploading and uploading, but cannot finish.

I got mine too.

Is DM working? I haven't been able to upload since last week.

Worst month since 2017 since DM was used to record sales.

Wow, they've taking $16 from me. I've deleted all my products, will terminate my account. Took years to make that money, now I'll never see it. Got to love this business.

Just saw your update. Are you able to delete your account? Are there any money left?

I had no idea about this. If you miss the email, they take your money. I'll have a look now. If they take any money from me, I'll terminate my account. Lucky I didn't waste much time with them.

Just be careful, because you will not be able to cash out from their website if your balance is below $50. Let's know how it goes.

Pete, thank you!

Just a minor thing, I did have sales within the 15 months. Actually, one sale was in June 2019.

After they started to make deductions, I had one more sales, because they would not close my account.

They have neither paid me nor closed my account.

Now I am going to complain to the Redwood Better Business Bureau next week. Don't want to start a complaint on Friday.

Hummm well I can't imagine "stock sites really doing that. 🤔However there was this German stock site that did charge me a small fee when I first joined. It was only a one time fee for foreigners mostly.  ::) But for a company like Zazzle and their reasoning to me is a bit twisted, but they do mostly your images on their provided products. So maybe it has to do more with maintaining all those functions with the site its self and less on the service of selling your image on your behalf. In other words they do so much more then stock sites do. One service compared to many different services. 🤷

For me it doesn't really affect me that much right now but I really still don't like that policy.
Envato Elements is doing basically the same - they call it the content upload bonus.  When I qualify for it, I get about $300 of monthly bonus, when I don't upload and don't qualify - 75$. So the difference is $225.

If you are ok with it, it's your choice.

As soon as I received the email, I requested the payout and termination on the same day. I have never agreed to be any part of it.

That was 7 months ago.

This is the initial email from Zazzle on September 15, 2019. Even though I stopped contributing, I had sales in June 2019.

Hello,

You're receiving this email because we've noticed you haven't created any new Products or had any Referral Sales on Zazzle for at least 15 months. To keep the marketplace fresh and engaging, we urge Designers and Associates to stay actively contributing on the site.

To address this minimum level of activity in the marketplace, we made a change to our User Agreement. As of April 1, 2019, accounts that are "non-contributing" – that is, haven't either (1) published a public Product, or (2) had a Referral Sale attributed to that account for the previous 15-month period – will be charged a small monthly "Non-Contributing Account Fee." (You can check your region's fee by clicking here.)

To be clear, Zazzle will NEVER charge your debit/credit card or PayPal account for these fees. Non-Contributing Account Fees can only be deducted from existing Earnings you may have in your Zazzle account (that is, royalties, Referral Fees, volume bonus and any other compensation owed to Designers and/or Associates). You will be charged until your account becomes contributing, or until your Earnings balance reaches zero. You can never have a negative balance because of Non-Contributing Account Fees.

We'd much rather have you adding Products to the marketplace again or growing your business with Referral Sales rather than incurring a fee, but you can avoid it by becoming a contributor again. How? Upload new Content and publish it to the marketplace as a public Product or have a Referral Sale attributed to your account before the start of next month. Your account will then be deemed contributing again for the next 15 months and your Earnings will not be affected by a Non-Contributing Account Fee. Continuing to contribute Content and Products to the marketplace is the best way to grow your business on Zazzle and avoid any future Non-Contributing Account Fees. If you're unable to change your account to contributing status before the beginning of next month, we'll deduct a Non-Contributing Account Fee, if your Earnings balance is greater than zero. This is in accordance with our new User Agreement, which is published here. For more details on these changes, we encourage you to check out this help article on the issue.

We look forward to having you back!!

Thank you,
The Zazzle Team

Thank you, k-t-g and Jo Ann.

I don't care about $37 or $47, it's important that this kind of practice is exposed and condemned.

I only wish to get moral support from those who care.

#188
Many of you may have never had anything to do with Zazzle, but it has started a dangerous practice since September 2019.

As you may or may not know, Zazzle now charges a $2 monthly fee from your existing earning if you stop feeding it new contents.

On September 5, 2019, after receiving the "policy updates", I requested payout of the balance of my earning and termination of my account, because I could not accept their "updated" policy.

With all kinds of excuses, it still has not paid me after 7 months. Some agents said that I had to log in and request the payment myself. It was actually not possible if your balance is below US$50.

Two days ago, I talked with a supervisor on the phone, who promised a solution. While he tried to request the payment on my behalf, it was not impossible to pay, even from his end.

Today he got back to me, even though I have never accepted their policy, he said that Zazzle would only pay me the amount after deductions.

I will now take this matter to the Better Business Bureau and rate the company honestly in appropriate rating websites.

It can happen to you and your family, in case you become ill or for whatever reason, you cannot feed the agencies anymore.

Think about it and please support me. Because it may affect you, if other agencies follow this bad example. Thanks.

Later in the day, after getting nowhere with the chat support and front line telephone support, I finally got to talk with a supervisor.

I told him that I was ready to file a complaint with Redwood's Better Business Bureau. Since I requested the final payment and closure of my account as early as September 5, 2019, I have never accepted their updated policy which makes $2 deduction every month on my earnings, and I request to be paid $47, the full amount.

He was willing to listen and promised to help.

Then he was going to pay me, but their website did not permit him, a supervisor, to request a payment for less than $50!

So all these previous talks which asked me to log in to make a request was all BS.

He said he would get back to me.

We'll see.

Zazzle, though claiming to be a US company, the support apparently is not.

Gastavo gave me the phone number as 001-408-XXX-XXXX. As you know, North America phone number starts with 1, and not 001.

001 is the number for phoning the US from outwith the US.

That's what I meant.

This is a dangerous precedent which should not be permitted to happen.

Imagine if GettyImages is to charge you $2 every month if you are not uploading new contents anymore.

Anyway, its main operation is in Redwood, California.

This is an update.

As you know, in September last year, I posted my first message. It has been 7 months, Zazzle has come up with all kind of excuses for not making a final payment and closing my account.

My earning has been reduced from close to $50 to $37.

I was not able to log in last year.

Today I tried again, I was able to log in. But still cannot request a final payment.

A support person Gustavo, said through its chat feature, that I have to request a payment again after 30 days.

Why? Because I re-saved my payment method.

Can you believe that?

Thanks, Sue.

I could see that the money left Alamy on Feb 3, just it hasn't reached me. Is Alamy so busy counting big proceeds of sales to PA that it forgets about paying us?

I have contacted Alamy support. No reply yet.

By the way, have you guys received the Feb payment yet?

Usually I received the payment in the first week of the month.

Be aware of Payoneer.

I used Payoneer for a while. It claimed that I would not be charged for a transaction fee if I bought things directly from my Payoneer MasterCard. But my transactions just didn't match. I was using the US dollar MC to purchase US products.

After I questioned, they admitted that they charged "cross border fee" for my US dollar purchases. Since the company is located in Berlize, virtually every transaction is a cross-border transaction, plus the conversion fee.

I am in Canada and not in EU.

Whether that $3.19 was gross or net, there have been lower (I've been below 70c net)
The key is that 'bulk discount' thing, and all I've had or read about have been to Eastern European buyers.

It's the gross total.

What are the DL numbers for lower end of 2020 targets?

How many DLs are required to get 30%? Do exclusives still get 25% at least?
Well, yes, for iS sales, but of course 20% for Getty sales, which presumably buyers are being pushed towards.

Anyway:
Photos: Default - 25%;  30% - 800;  35% - 8,500;  40% - 34,500;  45% - 515,000
Illos:    Default - 30%;                     35% - 7200;   40% - 26,000;  45% - 172,000
Videos: Default - 25%;  30% - 300;  35% - 2,000;  40% -  4,600;    45% -  35,000

Thanks! You are always doing due diligence for others. I apologize for being lazy. :)
Didn't you get the email?
I've opted out of custom briefs etc, but still got this one, which is fair enough.

Yes, I got the email. But it requires me to log in. I am too lazy to look for password.  ;)
