My understanding is that RF is fully released (usually without logos) for models and/or property.
L and L protected are equal to RM (which may have no model/property releases, so they could be used for editorial purposes).
So far I thought L is non-exclusive Rights Managed (RM) which allows you to sell the same image at other agencies under the same (non-exclusive) license (but not as RF).
L protected means that the image is exclusive to Alamy. So buyers instantly know that this image cannot be licensed anywhere else besides Alamy.
It can happen though, that an L image might be requested exclusively and Alamy will contact the photographer to find out if the photo is only available at Alamy or if it has been uploaded somewhere else.
As for removing logos of RM/L images and selling them RF. Legally I would say you can do it - I just don't know how potential buyers feel about that.
Alamy's RF license gives you a lot of freedom while L licenses are tailored to the customers needs but could be a lot more expensive than the RF version. If it doesn't make a difference to the buyer whether there is a logo in the image or not you could upset a buyer by offering the "same image" at two hugely different price points.
As it has been mentioned before, you "could" offer any image at any agency with any license not caring about legalities etc. but there is a big risk in getting banned from the agency/ies or pi$$ing off potential buyers.
I personally never take an L image and offer it as RF as well just without the logos.

Well I have to say that SS's search results for recently uploaded content is (usually) working great and lately I had 90% of my just approved images downloaded within a matter of minutes.
That does make a huge difference in the "Most popular" search because the most popular search takes the number of downloads into consideration based on the period of time online. Therefore even in the "most popular" search these new images might show up before other images with hundreds of downloads.
Big difference to me.
So I did notice a big difference while that bug happened but there is nothing I can do. Hope it works from now on.

It gets more painful for us when one agency already is struggling with major problems (on the sales side as well) and then problems start at another agency which happens to be the next most successful one.
Naturally that makes people nervous.
Who cares if Veer's or 123RF's search (names randomly chosen) would go bonkers for a few days?
SS fixed their thumbnail and search issue last night at least the one issue I'm aware of. So I don't have a problem with SS right now.

New script won't work on my machine either.
Buttons are on top but nothing happens when pressed.
WIN7 and FF 3.6.14

Goto the "My Uploads" page.
In the center column at the very bottom (underneath your uploads) are the two buttons for Sean's Greasemonkey script.

The buttons of the script are at the bottom of the list but once clicked the status remains on "Waiting".

... But then the price of pictures also comes down when he buys a large credit package? Seems like that's double savings... or at least we're bearing the brunt of the discount he gets? I thought this was common practice at most agencies...

Have you reported them to Fotolia? Maybe they are legal, like that German print company (wer they with Fotolia or Dreamstime?)
No I haven't - I wasn't sure if someone contacted Fotolia in the past and may know about it. But if no one here knows anything I will contact them.

Indeed! I tried "brasilien geld" but mine didn't show. ... Which proves the point that their search doesn't work well (at all?). ...Observe that each image has an option to buy from Fotolia (Dieses Bild bei fotolia kaufen). In the case you buy the cake, do they buy the image?
Weird, they don't even include a referral/affiliate link. That's just odd.

... Perhaps they're doing some cleanup of older files that don't meet new criteria and you're just on the leading edge?... OMG, how could iStock ignore similars all over the years. EMERGENCY. [loudspeakers at IS HQ:] All personnel to the reviewing stations and disable similar files. Drop all your semi-important tasks of fixing F5, video processing etc. and focus on disabling files. If you don't do that IS won't exist next week [loudspeakers at IS HQ *click*]IS never ceases to amaze me when it comes to surprising contributors with phenomenal ongoing tasks for their bored staff.

I found all of mine using Google but their internal image search is really screwed up.
I cannot locate one of my images using the scake.com search.

...What makes you think it's a Fotolia affiliate if you didn't find your own images?... The Fotolia watermark. Otherwise they are quite ruthless in offering designs that are not provided through an API.

I've used blurb - made fine art portfolio book for an artist. Never offered them for sale and only ordered them in batches myself, for the artist. Does about as good a job as any of these services, though I used Indesign and not their software.
Good to know. I've read that blurb does provide exceptional quality. If that's not the case then why spend the extra $$$ ? Which other companies do you recommend?

I couldn't find one of my images there either and I'm WITH Fotolia - so I'm not sure how they obtain their images.
It doesn't look like they have access to all the images.

Just came across http://www.scake.com/ - Looks like they also use Fotolia's API. No idea if this was mentioned before or if anyone actually cares. Though I'd let everyone know.

what sites do you suggest?
In the order of popularity: - Pond5 - iStock - Shutterstock - Fotolia - Revostock - Clipcanvas - Clipdealer - Canstockphoto There are more that I don't have any experience with. Maybe someone else can chime in about those.

do you think that is any part from my clip wirth to uploading somewhere?
It's a fun clip but I think there is some clips already on iStock etc. that are "more attractive". Do a search on iStock yourself with the keyword "ski" and you can see what your future competition does. The basic idea is good, there is not very much content like that online so it's a niche somewhat. But either way it has to be visually attractive. It would have made a world of a difference if you had a sunny day there without so much fog. Colors are dull. Either way, just sign up with all the big footage sites and upload it. See what happens.

I had a sale deducted due to the fraud thing back in December but funny enough, that stated sale never was listed in my "My Uploads" chart. The sale was only documented in the earnings' summary of that specific file. CR just answered that "we don't know why it's not showing in your list but the sale definitely occurred." Uhhhh ok.

I don't understand the Pro level requirements as I passed the $100 mark in March 2010.
Since then nothing happened and I'm about to hit Bronze level soon.
I asked Zazzle but they just wrote back that they are working on the program for 2011 which appears not to be released yet. No answer to my question why I wasn't bumped into the Basic Pro level early last year.
So I'm just confused.

It's not a copy. It it was a copy, it would look the same. It looks similar BUT according to the US copyright office: What is copyright infringement? As a general matter, copyright infringement occurs when a copyrighted work is reproduced, distributed, performed, publicly displayed, or made into a derivative work without the permission of the copyright owner. http://www.copyright.gov/help/faq/faq-definitions.htmlTherefore it is illegal. To me the dimensions of the lens and the alignment of the blades don't appear accidental...

Maybe a blogger would be interested. Not to start an actual agency...
$50 maybe for someone who knows how to work referral systems and ad placements.

Yes - I do keep them quite small, and the best sellers are saved with more JPEG Compression, but I agree there is some risk! This is always a conflict - how to make the site look attractive and the images pristine, but not lose them to theft.
I'll try the watermarking feature in Lightroom - is there a way to make the images secure from right-clicks in Wordpress?
Thanks for the warning, though!
Steve
I don't think the right-click prevention is your only problem. Why don't you just upload the images in the size they are being displayed on the site? Once I click on the image with the man shaving himself I get the image at 1200 pixel width. That's good enough for a small print. I don't see why there is a need to display an image online at that resolution unless you are trying to sell them (and then they should still be watermarked). Maybe I'm just paranoid. WP offers right click protection. Goto the WP plugin site or use Google.
