This is kind of new to me. So now, we're not even getting anything for the "display" of our images at Getty (in conjunction with Printful). Only if a product gets printed, "designers" pay $1 which ends up being a few cents for what used to be an extended license sale... This was posted in the Printful Insiders group on FB: Getty Images + Printful integration is here! 🎉 We're partnering with Getty Images to bring you one of the largest stock photography libraries to use for your product designs! What the Getty Images + Printful integration gives you:
📍 Royalty-free images for only $1: High-quality stock photos can run you up to $100, and you have no guarantee that your product with that image will sell. With the Getty Images+ Printful integration, you can add products with Getty Images files to your store for free! Once a customer buys your product, you will be charged $1 for each Getty Images file used. Easy! 📍 Never run out of product designs again: The Getty Images library offers more than 80M photos and illustrations in countless searchable categories. Plus, the high-resolution files are large enough for your all-over products! How does it work? Once you log into your Printful account, the Getty Images library will be available to you in the Mockup Generator. Under Configure design, choose Browse artwork. You can then search for any image using the Getty Images search interface! Play around with the images and create your designs, then add the products to your store. Done! Important things to note: The pricing for all Getty Images is $1 per placement. For example, a t-shirt order with one Getty Images file placed on both sleeves will cost you $2 plus tax, which will be charged along with product, fulfillment, and shipping costs. For now, Getty files aren't available for embroidery and engraving. Files with Getty images are meant to be used only for product designs, so it's not possible to download them as print files. Explore Getty Images + Printful here ➡️ https://www.printful.com/mockup-generator

Hi everybody,
is anyone here doing stock/self employment from France?
I'm moving there soon (to Alsace) and wanted to hear some feedback about insurances and other sole entrepreneur related stuff.
If anyone likes to share feel free to PM me.
Thanks.

Hi, this is my third change of country and it never gets boring... LOL
Having gone through various experiences in Germany and Switzerland, I'm now moving to France and was wondering if there are any French people here who I could shoot a few questions regarding my (small) business and how to transition smoothly.
Thanks.

Hi folks, do you also receive exactly one cent less than the requested payout amount on Adobe Stock?
I've noticed it the last 2 or 3 payouts but was wondering if this affects other people as well.
Thanks.

Hi, I haven't uploaded anything with a release ro a very long time. As I just had some shots where I used the property release of 500px (removing all 500px identifiers) - SS rejected teh release as it is "inelligible".
I thought the release from 500px would cover everything but apparently not.
Is there a generic release out there somewhere (URL?) that SS will accept?
Would be much appreciated.
Thanks.

I've been idle a while on the forums and this may have come up before but I couldn't find anything via the search function so here I ask:
$1.80 for a video sale on SS? What's happening?
Did they introduce some new scheme or big customer discounts?
Any information on this?
Thanks.

Hi everyone,
does anyone here know what the current turnaround time is to register copyright with eco system at the US Copyright Office? I have done it many years ago and I wonder if the process has changed or what the status is.
Thanks in advance.

I've moved to a country that unfortunately is on the list for a 30% tax withholding on footage. Previously I was living in Germany and got all my $$$ (both photos and footage) straight to my bank account.
Now, I was wondering if it is possible to retrieve those 30% filing my tax return?
Has anybody ever done this or heard about it? Is there any information somewhere? Or are those 30% just gone?
Thanks in advance.

I cannot get any search results when performing a footage search on SS.
Can anybody confirm this?

I know this already has been mentioned in the ESP thread but I wanted to dedicate some seperate space to complain about the details of that email. Well at least one specific point that made me curious. Amongst other points of that "detailed" statement they say: Each statement will include: date of sale type of sale; credit pack, subscription, Premium Access (formerly Getty 360/Getty Plus), etc. contributor credit line asset ID, title and/or caption customer cost of sale royalty rate
Why on earth do we need to know the customer cost of sale? Don't we want to see our final commission? I guess we should bow to their feet for also stating our royalty rate (which will induce seizures to many...) so that we can calculate our commission for every sale? Maybe I just misunderstood.

How can I import the CSV sales data from IS into Excel AND have a readable result?
Once I open the CSV file in Excel it's just a pile of long strings of numbers within one cell for each month. I can make out the monthly total, but not the individual sales types (Extended, Subscription etc.).
Is there a way to spread out the cells and align the numbers with the top line that contains the "titles"?
Thanks in advance.

I thought there was an agency that allowed free downloads of your own videos, kind of as a back-up option.
I also thought that it was one of the bigger players not something like Clipcanvas etc.
I checked the agencies I am with and couldn't find it anymore.

I'm sitting on a 1Gb/s fiber optic connection but cannot upload faster than 1Mb/s to Shutterstock via FTP.
Fotolia at least allows a speed of 21Mb/s
I'm using Filezilla which used to work a lot better than now. For comparison purposes I tried the FireFTP addon for Firefox but there I get only 500kb/s.
I have Kaspersky Internet Security 2017 running and was wondering if anyone achieves faster upload speeds than 1Mb/s to SS and which FTP software/Internet Security they use.
Any tips?

I'm getting more and more lost at IS.
So, the royalties total has been removed from the contributor panel, which is sh*t.
Alternatively I'm supposed to look at the sales statistics and hover over the bars to add up my amounts manually? I hate the CSV "solution" and was wondering if the "new" system on ESPAWS will actually show our totals now?
Funny thing now is that I cannot log on my ESPAWS account at the moment. It's been a while since I tested the ESPAWS when it was introduced but I must have forgotten my login or the login is currently broken (which wouldn't surprise me).
So I'm asking here if anyone is able to log in the ESPAWS account and if there is now access to the royalties totals somewhere? Just out of curiosity. I wrote to contributor relations but will be surprised to receive a response by the end of this year so I wanted to ask here for "faster service" LOL.

Does anyone have a contact E-Mail?
Thanks in advance.

I recently moved from Germany to Switzerland and now it appears that I will lose 30% of my footage sales due to the paragraph 12(1) (W-BEN) regarding Motion Pictures.
Needless to say that this is a real bummer as footage is my bread and butter and I was wondering if it's true.
I found online a PDF from Corbis to help photographers fill out their W-BEN forms with a list of countries and their respective tax withholding rates. Switzerland is listed with both 0% for images and motion picture. What gives?
How is that possible? I got hit with this 30% deduction at SS, VB, 123RF so far.
Does anyone here know a photographer/videographer in Switzerland that I may be able to get in touch with? It appears that photographers in Switzerland do not sell stock photos or footage - at least I couldn't find any.
Oh and does anyone have a link to the IRS website that lists all the countries with their respective rates of tax withholding? I just seem to be unable to find it.

I don't know if it's just me but since a few days now I have big issues accessing their contributor site (from Switzerland).
Sometimes it just takes a long time to load a page but right now it's like an endless loop.
All other sites work fine for me.

After 9 years I got my first footage rejections at Pond5. I don't agree with th reasons given as the quality has increased compared to previously submitted clips.
Has anyone experience with resubmitting a previously rejected clip and how relaxed is Pond5 handling such a case? Do they shut your account down once they see that a rejected clip is resubmitted or do you just get a warning or something?
Thanks in advance.

I just read about the end of updates for Apple's Quicktime on PC leaving doors open to any new found holes the code may have. On a German news web site they urge all PC users to uninstall Quicktime (since players like VLC can handle most files perfectly fine anyway) unless you definitely need it for video production. If I understand correctly, an export of Photo-JPG or h.264 requires Quicktime installed on a PC right? So what do you guys do? Apple did not comment on this question yet... https://www.us-cert.gov/ncas/alerts/TA16-105A

I'm not a footage buyer but I see quite a few clips heavily color graded when uploaded to the agencies. As you can also see in the SS trending video reel as well. http://www.shutterstock.com/en/trends/While it mostly fits into this reel I wonder if it is not limiting the sellers, as heavily graded clips cannot be easily re-adjusted to every film maker's/editor's needs. Wouldn't it make more sense to upload neutrally, proper white balanced footage so that the buyers can add their look themselves (which might vary greatly from the color graded clips in the library).? Your thoughts.

I only kept one clip there in case they got bought out by some big player or whatever.
But now it looks like they're completely gone.
The domain expires next month if I see that correctly.
Does anybody have news about them?
