;D Hi everyone, it's me again...

The objective of this marketing campaign is simple: aggressively explore new markets. And there's nothing we believe is better than good ol' FIRST HAND EXPERIENCE. We firmly believe that, at times we have to make the first move and give first in order to receive more in the future. Pay it forward!

The market is huge and I believe there's little chance of cannibalizing so to speak. We're exploring new ways of doing things, the same old same old will just yield the same old results, don't you agree?

All right then, enough with the old, in with the new! Let's see how far this will take us, good to have your support guys.

The campaign runs for several months across several regions therefore, you might get some credits usage over time.

Thanks everyone!

We finalize payment amounts on the 3rd working day of each new month.

For checks, we normally mail those out by early 2nd week.

For paypal and moneybookers, we'll send payment over to you by mid month.

If you missed a pay period, do email us and we'll conduct an investigation then if everything is OK, we'll arrange payment to you right away (with our apologies of course for the delay).

I hope this explanation is sufficient. Thank you!

123RF / Re: New Reviewers or new Quality requirements?
« on: June 17, 2008, 07:47 »
Hi Dan,

Thanks for inquiring, unfortunately, I can't release any real statistics as it's all trade secrets and very hush hush. But as you can see, Alexa rankings are indicative of our growth, so although I can't say much, you can deduce it using various online and very public tools like compete.com (oops, I've said too much..!)

But on a serious note, everyone is looking for growth and 123RF is no different, we're constantly coming up with ways to increase our sales and growth within the industry. And we're not afraid to explore new ways of doing things both online and offline...!

There's something abuzz at HQ here planned for July, and it involves all of our contributors so it's full steam ahead for everyone, as usual I wish everyone the best and I hope that we continue to grow from strength to strength and I'd like to thank everyone who has been contributing to 123RF and its growth. When we grow, we grow together :) as we're partners!

We hope to source for more quality content for our customers and EVO is just one of the ways to ensure that our customers get exactly that. So far, EVO sales has been encouraging as well as our CSI or Corporate Stockphoto Intranet, it definitely helps to increase your credit sales.

The EVO review board have just reviewed another batch of EVO candidates and I hear the results will be out tomorrow, for those of you who get the invite, allow me to send you my congratulations and for those who have not receive it yet, don't be disheartened, but do keep on contributing, the EVO candidate list will always be revisited. Reviewers are always on the lookout for good content and they're the only ones who can suggest to the EVO review board, the rest is their decision of course...

Always remember - good stock orientation, models always help, do some retouching and take care of the lighting and composition, EVO review board likes clean, sharp, images, or something that's unique :)

Wow, looks like a long post, we will keep on improving on the way we get things done at 123RF, once more, thanks for supporting us.

Hi everyone!

If you're not too happy with your latest reviews, do kindly email [email protected], we will definitely look into your rejections and do list down images you feel will perform well but have been rejected, please just give us the image ID, we'll give it another whirl.

We're tightening up standards here at 123RF, so do keep contributing as getting things right after an order has been issued is at times very tricky.

Do email us, our doors are always open for discussion and dialogue :)

Hello All,

As you know no two people are exactly the same, although we have enacted standards and guides to help standardize our rejections and acceptance, there are still differences in how we look at things.

At the moment, all I can say is that if you feel very strongly about your images being rejected for reasons best known to the reviewer, I invite you to email me: [email protected] and I'll conduct a re-review for you. However, do make sure that your images are composed well and lit well before you do.

We use poor lighting / composition rejections for:
1. Severely cropped subjects
2. Bad lighting
3. Bad composition (an extension of #1)
4. Snap shot style shots
5. Blurriness / no focal point / out of focus
6. Camera dust
7. Compression / artifacting / pixelization
8. Bad masking / bad touch ups / bad isolation
9. Enlarged / Blown up images

So as you can see, we use that 1 reason for a number of things :)

Thank you very much. Do email me, your patience is appreciated. (Please don't flood my mailbox though! :P)

Alex.

123RF / Re: 123rf First 10 submission
« on: June 15, 2008, 20:00 »
Normally, what we find is that people tend to forget to upload their ID, make sure that you do that, or else our image reviewers cannot begin work on your submissions.

Once you have done so and if you wish to expedite your reviews, do drop us a friendly email stating that you have uploaded your ID.

Things that we look for in your ID:
1. Date of birth (you must be over 18)
2. Your photo
3. Address
4. Your full name

As such we can accept the following Government Issued documents as IDs:
1. Drivers license
2. Passports
3. Identity cards
4. Company incorporation/registration documents

Thank you!

Hello All,

According to our privacy policy and other terms of use, we do not and will not share or give your private information to another party that is not associated with us. That also includes your model releases and the such.

When and if a customer who has downloaded your image requests for a model release, what we do is a VERIFICATION service. We state that there is a model release and if they would like to have some proof of it, we will dig up the model release and BLANK OUT, all private information that could lead someone discovering the identity of the model, for example: the model's name, place of residence, contact numbers, emails etc.

We also take care to BLANK OUT the photographer's contact details as well, so only the barest minimum information is ever given out in such cases.

The frequency of a customer asking for a verification and copy of the model release is VERY RARE indeed. Perhaps only 1 in a year, if we're lucky. So far this year we have not received any yet :)

Thank you, don't panic ;) There is no need to remove any images or mode releases, but rest assured, we will take care of things for you as your privacy (and your model's/witnesses) are of utmost importance.

« on: May 14, 2008, 05:37 »
Our reviewers have been instructed to look out for potential EVO contributors, you may ask me to consider you, but again, it's to do with the board, if they decide to invite you, then congratulations!

Do let me know... but don't take rejection personally, they use lots of criteria to evaluate. Sales is NOT the only criteria neither is it THE criteria.

As for the drop in sales, I can't really comment, some people are doing well, some aren't but all I know is that there are holidays in May, so it could account for the sluggishness.

123RF / Re: Similar image
« on: May 13, 2008, 18:59 »
What The Miz said is very true. Another reason why we do not encourage many similars is that your downloads might get diluted across different versions, and that will lower the search visibility a significant amount when searched via "Most Downloaded" sort order.

So do give it a think.

As for Horz / Vert shots, we feel that if the accepted image can be cropped or zoomed to produce the complimentary image, we will reject the complimentary one.

Do you think that's a fair evaluation?

Thanks for the feedback!

Alex

hi Madelaide,

That's why a complete review of the policy and what can be called "strengths" or an altered image.

I had a article once on the forum that used rinder's example of a woman who was shot in both color and black and white, the black and white version was so powerful it would be inane for us to reject it on our policy, but he was reviewed by one of our more experienced reviewers.

But yes, we know what you're saying and I've been advocating that for quite some time :)

Thanks!

Thanks for the feedback, we'll see what we can do to change the review policy.

In any case, if you'd like us to reverse the rejections for similar vectors, please email us.

Thank you!

Heavens! No! That would be so "conflict of interest" but I'm glad to say our team is pretty good. At least we met all our deliverables and I'm proud to be a member of the team!

We do fix things pretty fast, right?

To be fair - sometimes it's hard to juggle all that numbers and database entries but someone has to do it...

Thanks!

123RF / Re: New credit price at 123?
« on: May 04, 2008, 23:15 »
I believe that the base pricing of the downloads are correct, however, the multiplier was not accurately factored in.

So basically 4 credits @ $0.35 should actually read: 4 credit @ $1.40.

However, I was informed the IT Team has edited things and now they accurately show the correct amounts.

Thank you!

Alex.
