I don't think Shutterstock shows if an image has a property release.  I know they do for model releases.  Unless they've changed that.

I hear ya.  Last I uploaded was late July.  Those files are starting to get seen but not as much as I would like.  And that goes for all not just SS.

Looking into start marketing and rather than dragging up an old thread from late July thought I'd start a new one.

As independents I know it's on us to do our own marketing.  Has there been anything that's worked or not worked since this was last talked about?

I was thinking about running a Craigslist add but I'm not sure if potential image buyers would even think about looking at a site like that.

The strategies we build now will help those thinking about getting started get a head start after they finish with building their site.

I don't know much about marketing and any links to good, thorough articles from trusted sites would be most helpful.

You basically won't until they try to post something in comments.  I have two registered users right now and so far they haven't proven to be spammers yet...they also haven't purchased anything so who knows.

I will tell this though, when I had a php nuke site about a million years ago someone came on and registered and two to three months later then decided to spam my site.

Leave them be unless they do something like spam posts.

Mine disappear too but I also got it back.  I'm using SY 2.5.6 and WP 3.6.

I went to my themes activated Default.  I then went back and activated SY then I went back and activated the Child theme and my uploader showed back up.

That's what I did just in case you wanted to try that again before changing core files.

I found the area and blocked the same urls that are blocked on Google.  I had to enter them manually as it wasn't already blocked like Google did.

Looking around in their today it doesn't have any blocked url's like it does on Google i.e. block from being indexed.

Yeah I figured it out.  I didn't type my email into the SY settings

And I know I can't buy my own stuff I was just checking it out and that issue popped up.

Hope it gets resolved for you soon and they get it installed so you can use it.  My host won't let me have it I have to be on one of their pricier plans :/

I've left mine all at the default pricing scheme and all I've seen with the sites I've looked at are either default or under.  I don't think I've seen anything priced higher. 

I do have things I'll be uploading after I get finished with the SEO part.  Those will be individual and then I need to figure out the pricing to sell them as a zipped set.

I don't think I have an individual file I feel would be worth $100 but that doesn't mean I can't come up with one down the road.

I've updated both now and all seems well.  It took longer to perform the back up than it did to update.

Performing my backups now.  Didn't realize I had that many files.  Wow.
