To me it's more interesting as to where the clips came from, as mentioned by Video-stock in the blog, it's not the usual "I got better over time" port, they seem perfectly fabricated and diverse, I wonder if their ownership was transferred from someone else.

I wonder if they were produced by Shutterstock for Shutterstock.  Do they exist at other agencies...?

Newbie ports are pushed to the top of the search and established contributors work is pushed back

I do not believe. ONE single contributor pushed up for quite all simple search key? There should be other explanation.

New contributor having more visibility is not conspiracy theory, it's perfectly legit.
But why should be only one between hundreds, maybe thousands, it's nonsense and goes against agency itself interests.

Could this account be company owned content?

I learned I was in the test group after requesting an explanation about very low priced video sales.  I then requested an opt out.

If you email them they usually get it sorted. You will soon realise that their site is very flakey.

Contributors should not have to beg for reviews.  My files have been waiting months.  I have to assume something is going wrong over there.  After 9 years of uploading... I've removed them from my distribution list.  I'll invest my time elsewhere.

Shutterstock.com / Re: Why Shutterstock is accepting everything
« on: October 23, 2018, 11:33 »
Shutterstock *has* to be creating these images. They either have people on staff churning this stuff out to plump up the library or they're recruiting people to upload quick and dirty portfolios full of thousands of images that take seconds to generate.

There's just no way these ports are going through the usual review process.

I suspect many "contributor" portfolios are wholly owned by agencies.  I'm sure they give themselves a nice dose of search result optimization as well.  That's what I would do if I owned an agency.

Getty used to be somewhat open about it.  How many millions of images did they / do they own?

They need to tell you what the charge is for or give you a refund.

Is it possible a agency clawed back the money?

General Stock Discussion / Re: 123rf slow to review

I received a few 20 downloads.  I opted out of their partner program years ago.  I'm level two... so the minimum should be 28  Anyone else having this problem?

Another positive move from Adobe.

My videos have been waiting for review since March.  My editorial photos have been waiting since February.  Meanwhile they cut my royalties.

I stopped uploading videos and editorial photos to 123rf.  I'm considering phasing 123rf out entirely.

Adobe Stock / Re: Question about your metadata workflow

I embed both the title and description.  At Fotolia I replace the title with the description.  It would save time if the description was imported automatically instead of the shorter title.

I wish they would respect my email preferences... and stop spamming their pathetic briefs at me.

In my opinion there are only four video sites worth uploading to.  I don't see much benefit to paying a agency distribution middleman.  I prefer having a direct relationship with those four companies.

« on: August 19, 2018, 13:16 »
today I sold 14 times the same video for 1.50$ I deleted it and will delete all the files I sell at 1.50 and soon delete them all last month I lost 40% of my normal income this is crazy

Inviato dal mio iPhone utilizzando Tapatalk

Thats like 21$. Normal price for a video sale.
yes for one video sale not 14 are you joking or are you out of your mind please tell me and I will try to understand what are you saying

Understand this: 1,5$ video sale wasn' really a video sale, it was video streaming.

Shutterstock should do a better job of communicating the pricing and terms of these streaming licenses... and offer an opt out.

Big improvement.  Will resume uploading.

rm agency are struggling much more than rf...don't believe the fool...to earn good money in rm is a miracle.
rf and rm are falling down...soon many agency will close the door believe me. just alamy seems to keep selling something. rm you need a lot of quantity and quality and something customer can't find anywhere. good money are still in rm news editorial agency if you have the right image. commercial rm are falling dwn.

Either youve been drinking too many beers or the heat have gotten to you!! haha!  among us people that have been doing RM for 20 odd years Alamy is considered the absolute WORST agency of them all!...Alamy is pretty much considered a glorified micro-agency!!.

When you think RM youre thinking of the obvious ones Getty, Stocksy, Alamy etc, etc. Forget these mate, I'm not at all talking about these places just forget those!

haha!  what do you think that these agencies to the right here in the column are the ones???  theyre the ones that wants to be there, wants to be seen so that people like you will join them! ;D ;D ::)

So... what's your favorite RM agency?

"PxBee isnt pitching itself as a potential Terminator bringing death to traditional stock-photo services like Getty Images or Shutterstock, laughs Tony Duan of Fotor. PxBee prefers a more authentic and naturalistic look over staged photos. Our images are entirely unique and the traditional stock photo market has no access to the imagesthat PxBee distributes, we offer a service that is entirely complementary to that of our competitors, Tony said."

They have all my SS pictures... strange

They are not showing my SS pictures.  Did you opt in at the Big Stock partner sales program?

Nope, but i have the same pics on ALMY, SS, AS, IS, DT, 123RF, canva.
Are you exclusive with SS?

Not exclusive.  I also have content at Alamy, SS, AS, IS, DT, 123RF.  Opted out of partner programs where possible (except Alamy).

Giant previews and tiny corner watermarks are a downside to uploading there.

My photos on FAA do not show up on google maps.  FYI:  I do not include GPS in my metadata.  Do you include GPS info in your uploads?

How come all the top stock footage creators I know of, don't seem to be blogging or vlogging, or on Instagram or anything else I know of.

Actually I think I know the answer...

Indeed - the vloggers are the ones barely earning $100 a month yet offering to teach newcomers their secrets. Great insights to be had there.

Don't forget that they also want to tell you how awesome BlackBox is...  ;)

So are 90% of vloggers doing youtube instructional videos because they can't make it at what they are giving instruction on?

I'd estimate the majority of people doing stock video/photos are part timers many of whom struggle to make their expenses back. They will be the ones making continuous posts as well as sharing their sales info. Meanwhile the core of professionals actually making it work are heads down, and know better than to share their hard earned trade secrets and financial info for all comers.

I doubt many in North America are spending full-time hours on microstock ... If they are maybe they should make a video about how that can even be sustainable. Maybe a portfolio of a hundred thousand could keep up with the bills? lol.

I believe most full time microstockers are way too busy producing product to bother with selfie tutorials...
