Calling ss racist rejections for same images uploaded to another account?
Well, Well, I don't know what to think anymore. Photographs that look great and are selling in other agencies and whose model release has been accepted without any problem, are rejected again and again in SS because supposedly the model release is not valid. I have already written my problem above. Nobody answers me anything other than, I can't have two accounts and I can't upload photos to two accounts. What a forum, so little help.

Translated with www.DeepL.com/Translator (free version)

Because you accuse them of being racist and blacklisting you not asking about rejection reasons or why a model release is rejected. We can't help your anger. You're right the support is terrible and they don't answer, been that way for years. You can't have two accounts. What should we answer to that?

In one word - prostitution!
First 6 months of 2022
I sold 662 image - for 354 US Dollars!
How did they go so down! Why do we still contribute???
Beats me

That wasn't a house project but you two can go on in your imaginary dream make up world. The answer was on SS forums unless you are banned there. Eighth-Wonder is not a in-house contributor test account.

Most people especially those who are busy shooting, uploading and making money didn't waste time on Shutterstock forum btw.  I posted there for very short time for a few months before I stopped wasting my time engaging with majority trash talkers.
Thanks for reminding me
All those nobody stock contributors hate me.  LOL!!  Whatever.
They got nothing better than ridiculing people.  Useless posters.
They've never started a meaningful thread/conversation.  All they do is to come in and ridicule people.  And then I strike back, they get upset like a little punk.  LMAO!!  Weak.
OK, I "Ignore"d all the garbage posters on this forum now.  Maybe they are the same people I ignore on Shutterstock forum but different username.  lol  I just hope they ignore me as well and stop stalking me like obsessed wackos.
Seems you have problems with many others and no respect.

I only have problems and have no respect for those I described in my quotes you just posted.  You get what you throw at me.  I don't turn the other cheek.

Adobe Stock / Re: Very Angry After Adobe Stock
« on: May 22, 2022, 08:26 »
There is Always a higher level of greed with stock agencies

Stock agencies are "for profit" businesses. Nothing wrong with being in business for profit.  Greed is part of increasing business stockholder value, and executive/staff and asset creator/supplier compensation. It's a major driver of their business models.  Greed no doubt plays it's part - as it does in many aspects of business and life.

It's become glaringly obvious in recent years that stock agencies organic growth has stagnated.

That's why agencies consolidate and gobble up competitors, spread and share creator assets across competing platforms, and drive asset pricing down with subscription and bundled asset schemes to untenable levels for asset creators.  All attempts to grab more market share.

It's apparently the only methods they have left to drive growth in the industry.

So why don't they raise prices like many other industries do? If the main players do that....would solve a lot of problems.

Other industries only raise prices to offset higher costs. Price competition is always important. Microstock lowers pay for us to reduce costs then lowers prices and makes more profit. How would stock sites make more money by paying us more? If you can answer that question, tell them so we get paid more fairly.

Don't forget the rocket crisis. USA didn't allowed Russian missiles to be installed on Kuba, right? Would Americans have attacked back then? Hell yes.

On the photo Belgrade 1999 after NATO bombing.

NATO fought against murder, rape, ethnic cleansing and genocide by the military and the forces of Slobodan Miloević government.

...I'll be back in touch next week to share more detail of what has happened ...

It's nearly the end of "next week" now - Thursday evening on the US West Coast and very early Friday morning in the UK. I looked in the Alamy forums and don't see any update (other than the previously locked threads have been mostly unlocked).

Even if the update is to give a new date for an update, something from Alamy would be appreciated.

>>>>"I'll be back in touch next week to share more detail of what has happened with this flurry of sales through the Chinese distribution channel. "

Yes. Looking forward to that update from Alamy.

Me too

I guess that the reason they are responding here means that sh*t is hitting the fan. I imagine panic is all around at the head office by now. Pulling out, by you and probably many others, has had a substantial impact. But then again Alamy was going nowhere anyways but rock bottom. Glad that I got out a few months ago. They will probably sell your photos for every bid at the end and they will end up as free picks somewhere. Last straws.
Bye, bye, Alamy.

This is why representatives from most of the agencies never come here, or stopped after a small number of visits. People like you who find something wrong with everything. And when they do try to answer you find something wrong with that too? James has been here many times before and over many years. The least people here could do is act like adults and a little bit professional?

Well Pete, let's wait and see for a couple of months where Alamy will be at by then and then we'll talk again. Or are you still seeing a bright future for them? I don't but what do I know :)

If you don't know the difference between attacking James and being angry over 7 cents commissions, or low price sales, then it's no use explaining, grow up.

Sales through Alamy gets you 40% of gross, distributor sales gets you 30% of gross, so I you got 30% thats distributor sale in my opinion.

Yes and I made an example, but: 15 cents  +(- .045) +(- .06) = +.045 commission - also makes me see that the .045 in the front is rounded up to .05 and the .045 for the contributor is rounded down to .04 ? They just picked up a half cent that way. Slick accounting in their favor?

it's actually 60% For Alamy of whatever is left after Distributor commission not 50%

Show me that math I can't see how you got 60%

They just keep coming, but I don't see them because I put them on ignore.  Nice!!!  Bye.

If you don't see them why do you keep answering and writing about them?

Can we expect your quantity of posts to decrease once your suspension is lifted on the SS forums? And how long have we got left to go... just out of interest?

It'll be a very high pace.  So, hold your breath.  If you don't like it, just put me on your ignore list.  I have a few annoying and hostile people on ignore list already, but they keep commenting on my posts somehow.  I don't understand them.  What's your Shutterstock username?

So why aren't you on Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin or Youtube bawling this?  ???

It would be more productive than preaching to fellow contributors who already know the score?  ???

Official from their site, including the link:

What do I get with Extra Channels?

Extra Channels provides you with additional opportunities to make money with your content. We constantly seek new partnerships with brands, stock photo agencies, print-on demand marketplaces, API integrations and other platforms to expand the market for our creators and maximise sales for every image uploaded to Wirestock.

We are frequently approached by different companies who want to purchase content from Wirestock. We find the best marketplaces, agencies and brands for your images and videos. All sales through Extra Channels are reported on your dashboard, with specific information about each source. Pricing and royalty rates vary based on your content, partner type and overall demand.

What is the Instant Pay Program?

Wirestock has partnered with several platforms that pay for content on a one time basis, in advance, as opposed to paying per download. Creators who choose to enroll in the Instant Pay Program (IPP), will be paid for each image selected by every IPP partner.

Our IPP partners include stock photo marketplaces, designer tools, business promotion tools and other platforms that offer commercial content to their customers.

Once the content is purchased through IPP, our partners can distribute it through their platforms according to their pricing model or use it for their own projects.

Which marketplaces, agencies and partners does Wirestock work with?

Here is the list of marketplaces and agencies that Wirestock works with: Shutterstock, Adobe, Alamy, Dreamstime, Pond5, Depositphotos, 123RF, Science Photo Library, Freepik (Instant Pay), Canva.

Wirestock also licenses content to businesses such as brands, marketing agencies and creative studios directly as part of Extra Channels. We are always looking to expand the number of content partners we work with to maximize your earnings.

https://wirestock.io/faq?q=instantPay

So tell me again how they hide the truth about how they distribute, and did this without your knowledge? It's on the site, it's in the (i) when you submit an image, it's in the terms and FAQ.

if anything i find they have actually made it harder to select that option (or i am now missing a new process)

By collapsing the checkboxes for channels I find I many times forget to add it since I would not have it automatically, and they seem to have removed user input management of channels after approval

Select the channels when you upload? If you mean to change, I'd agree one by one, drop down on each image is complx and for somebody with a lot of images a long process. I emailed and had them turn off all Instant on all of mine.

Why people still upload video or stills to SSTK?? for 10 cents a pic and $1.50 a video? delusional in that ya'll think you're gonna make hundreds of thousands of sales and bank?.

SSTK has become like the music streaming industry, unless you're getting millions of streams you are getting paid a fraction of a penny per stream/download.

Just google up music streaming royalty calculator.

SSTK is if you need a loss to report on your taxes.

How do I report a loss when SS pays me more money a year than anyplace else?

sales are dropping, no shiiiiit sherlock, you are all selling your images for 5 dollar and now adobe takes all sales, how could not have seen this coming???

On average, my sales in a year with Adobe are not $5. If they had accepted all the suggested photos for 5 dollars I would have made more profit than otherwise
I didn't participate because I think it's going the wrong way when so much is given away for free to customers. It seems to me that with such a large offer, a customer will first look at the free photos and only if there is nothing there that he likes, at the other photos. As a result, fewer of them will be sold.
A store also tries to lure customers with bargains (not for free) in the hope that they will buy more and stay customers. That will also be the intention here, but I wonder if you can compare this with a store.

i participated in the $5 event - with NO effect on my other sales - AS earning have been stable over the last 3 years
Same for me no loss change, sales are more and up.

Agree on the editorial front. In fact the only reason I am still image exclusive with Getty is that Adobe does not offer the editorial option and as I am not interested one iota in SS I stay with the Getty/Family because I have a lot of editorial content.
You can use Wirestock as a gateway to the Editorial collection of Adobe Stock.

Not perfect, but it works, I sell editorial content on Adobe that way.
Not sure whether it's worth it for you, I don't know the conditions of exclusivity at Getty.

How do you do that, my editorial uploaded via Wirestock are rejected and never appear on AS.

You can search your public profile (accessible via the contributor dashboard: contributor account -> see my public profile), get the file-id from there, and paste it in the search field in the contributor dashboard again. Hoover over title or keyword fields and the edit button appears. Not an efficient way to do it, but it's possible.

Also not perfect because takes all kinds of -> see profile, copy file id number, go to contributor dashboard, paste, click and then edit button appears.

Hi Mat, thank you for your insight and reply! Nice to hear that Adobe works this way. It would be also insightful and fun if you could see in which country the sale was made. Maybe something that Adobe can think about sharing as well in the activity overview? And an app for your mobile phone would be handy and welcome also, if I may suggest.
You can look back 13 months no more. Adobe data on image sales details is lacking.

Just a minor correction here @Yada. You can view any custom date range you select as long as it is within a 13 month period. It doesn't have to be the most recent 13 months.

thanks for the feedback,

Mat Hayward

I fixed it. Corrected by Mat I was wrong, only a 13 month period at once. I'd like to see lifetime earnings or lifetime downloads for images, how do I do that?
