Hi. My average income for December is...

by the way, have the "AI Service" payments been made?

See reply #9. You were probably typing while I posted. Although it's listed as "Consolidated" in TodayIs20, it's "AI Services" elsewhere.

A decent month. I have to remember to keep breathing when I see a great license for one of my newer images - $122.xx and beside it 15% of that for my share!

I could double the royalty rate if I went exclusive again :)

Congrats, Jo Ann, and I feel your pain.
However - most (maybe [?]  not quite all) of these high value sales are via Getty, so only get us 20%, no matter which level we're on. Remember, it's all smoke and mirrors (i.e. hidden in the Small Print) with Getty!

Anyone received any AI training royalties for 2024 on Istock??
In November, and for me it was 2 files, $3.13 total.  ::)  Most people who reported seem to be underwhelmed.
They are only going to be reported in the November month sales (reported December) every year.

In Todayis20 they show up as 'Consolidated'

Bizarrely, a swathe of GI Single Asset sales, all of the same subject, for 6c per download (each sold twice, so 12c). No idea what went on there, as GI Single Assets normally sell for much more - though I had one for 3c once.  ::)
Were those sales by any chance coming from Japan and purchased in two days (25th and 26th of December)?

First sales on 20th and 21st Dec, 2nd sales of all on 26th Dec, and all from Japan. Subject: sea mammals

Highest number of sales for many years, but lowish rpd.

Still, best Dec since 2019.
Also, 2024 overall up from 2023, and indeed best year since 2019, but I made more uploading effort, which has paid off, relatively for my port, for nowadays.
(stills only)

There won't be any raise for artists even if they triple the licenses price.
Well, that would be assuming they'd cut our already low commissions by another 66%, because if our share stayed the same, we'd get the same 3x increase.

Print on Demand Forum / Re: JUNIQE best print on demand website
« on: January 07, 2025, 20:05 »
Juniqe is one of the most popular POD website in the Google Search.
I know nothing about Juniqe, but that means nothing.
I was recently scammed by a site which is among the most popular in Google Search, the other top search hits also being scam sites, which are even more recent.
They presumably know how to game the system.

34
And what of iStock Exclusives?
In theory, they could sell exclusive files on iStock, and all the rest on SS.
In practice, who knows? I've never been able to second-guess what Getty might do next.

35
I'm interested in the bottom line, not the gross.
As Cobalt says, those with high value ports with high earnings also generally have high expenses.

Profit is sanity.
Turnover is vanity.

there is an interesting message that there will be weighted dataset earnings of 50%

to be reported once a year with december earnings

That was ambiguous, I wasn't sure whether they meant 'Nov earnings reported in Dec or Dec earnings reported in Jan, but when I looked further it was clearly Nov earnings reported in Dec. That's where I got my $3.31 from 2 "AI services" ... but right now I forget where I saw that figure last night.

Found it. I uploaded the Connect stats to TodayIs20 (wish I hadn't, depressing) and now it shows there inder "Stats by product type"

FWIW, Nov was my 3rd BMY for $$$, not far below the 2nd best. My 2024 $ was already above 2023's at the end of October, so  :) (I've uploaded a LOT for me this year).

$$$ quite a bit lower than Nov 2023 due to a lower rpd, but better than Novs 2018 - 2022 inclusive.

2x "AI Services" netting a total of $3.13

Good luck everyone.

iStockPhoto.com / Re: Сontrolled vocabulary (CV) Istock
« on: December 17, 2024, 19:46 »
Hello guys,

Maybe someone know where can find Istock controlled vocabulary (CV)? Maybe somewhere can download this vocabulary?

I'm pretty certain it's not generally available.

I don't use it myself to upload (it has some fun features, though), but some people find it easier to upload using Deep Meta, which can help with CV terms and disambiguating, apparently.

« on: December 11, 2024, 20:15 »
hi what happen on istock i have lot of photo waiting to approuve. They have big probleme.

It's been going on for a while, apparently exacerbated by them checking to make sure we haven't been using any generative AI.
There also seem to be more 'stuck' batches than usual, for which you have to wait 15 days before contacting them.
Still, I had a batch which had been waiting since 25th Nov approved yesterday (but several uploaded after that were inspected in good time).
In other words, it's all a bit of a muddle just now, but if you get to 15 days without inspection, you can contact them. When I did that they were approved within an hour or two.

General Stock Discussion / Re: Microstock Contributor Survey 2024

Personally I was overfilling my "plan" for 2024 until November came along. 100% or more yoy until October.
Now suddenly just the exact same income as last year, perhaps 100 dollars more. And December looks the same so far. Might even be less than last year.

Because these changes came abruptly I don't think it is a dramatic algo change or ai competition, I had that also all year long.
No, this was me making mistakes.

So I will do something different next year.

Interesting conclusion.
I tend to think it something has changed abruptly (other than an overall price decrease), it's a dramatic algo change.
If it's a slower decrease, people are uploading better rival photos.

My October payment arrived earlier today - it matched exactly the amount shown on my PDF statement. I'm in the US FWIW.

Mine too (UK)
Wilm, you'll need to contact Support.

PS: there are two similar reports on their own forum.

October Stats are in.

For me: 2nd top # sales of the year, but a low RPD makes it average $$$.

On the good side, better than Octobers 2023, 22 and 20.

Alamy.com / Re: alamy sales?
« on: November 01, 2024, 16:37 »
I don't do very well there, but my port is relatively small, and I don't do Live News. I did get a $54.60 net infringement fee in October.
I'm in a little Alamy Social Group, and those in the group who do Live News do well.
Also, check out the monthly sales thread over on the Alamy forum. These are self-reported, but assuming the people are honest, you can see what they made and the size of their port. Most people there quote gross $$, unless they specifically say otherwise.

iStockPhoto.com / Re: September results are in - how did you do?
« on: October 19, 2024, 17:31 »
Again, a month rescued by one 'jackpot' sale. I really rely on these nowadays, otherwise my rpd would be grim.

One thing I notice is consistent is that I have far fewer US sales (I have almost nothing 'directly' relevant to that market) than from eg. the UK (where I'm based), but the US sales have a much higher average rpd.

Seems they are a legit Adobe partner, and you should get a payment per download:
https://community.adobe.com/t5/stock-discussions/europosters-do-you-know-they-resell-your-pics/td-p/10129220

I'd have thought you might have noticed that very large number of sales of your image, so I looked to see if that might be reviews of the site rather than just your photo, but I clicked on another pic there at random and it had a very different number (14.6k+, but it wasn't Adobe or any other watermarked), so either you get huge numbers of sales of files so it wouldn't have seemed unusual to you (congrats  if so!) or they haven't admitted all the sales to Adobe, or they are lying on their site.

Contact Adobe, if you don't have the correct number of dls, pointing out some other pics with different review numbers.

Good month for me, by today's standards.
(I had a 'jackpot' sale, which makes all the difference)
Added: also the best month's total number of sales since at least Jan 2017, though my average rpd has been higher (and much lower).

iStockPhoto.com / Re: iStock now allows Gen. AI retouching
« on: August 16, 2024, 15:38 »
Re the link: it's trivial to read the email we got informing us of the changes, and fairly easy just to go to the forum and look for it.

The announcement is a load of fetid dingoes' kidneys, raises many more questions than it answers, and seems to put into question non-AI retouching techniques which have been allowed for many years in Creative Images.

As ever, Jo Ann has posted a clear and incisive post about the lack of clarity in the announcement.

BMY, and better than 11 months of last year, but only thanks to one jackpot sale and one good sale. Many, many 22c sales, so without the happenchance of two good sales, the total $$ would have been poor.

Fewer sales but higher RPD, which is the way round I prefer*, second highest total of the year.
*Though, like everyone, I'd rather have more sales AND a higher RPD. Dream on  :(

Has anyone ever come here from Istock?

Yes, but not for many years.
