I'm trying to find some photos for a company project and the search is REALLY, REALLY, REALLY slow. Many people might become impatient and go somewhere else. :-\

Sounds like a set up for a scam. If they really wanted to tell you something important they would have included it in the original email.

Very Cool 8)

More rejections here too, :( photos that I was sure would be accepted like objects isolated on white.

Also got a rejection notice for a "too many in same series" when it was the only photo in the series. The rejections don't even make sense.

I notice too that Veer takes some of my more artistic shots that either don't get accepted at other sites or don't sell well. Kind of excited to have chance to upload to a place like this. Makes them different from the rest. Might even upload photos to Veer that won't go to the other sites because they would be rejected as "not stock worthy".

I've sent an email to support but will mention it here.
The search isn't using all the IPTC data that was entered for each photo in Photoshop.

Well, I just did a search for "Knoxville" because I have several Knoxville location shots approved and got 0 results so I don't see how the search could be functioning optimally. In this case the search is not working at all. Maybe the site is still indexing the search terms?

When I do a search for my specific images, some of them can't be found at all and others can be found but the list of keywords is incomplete  :-\ Maybe the search is not fully functional yet?

Oops. This price was before the Alamy commission so I get $135. Better than a kick in the shin. ;)

FINALLY! Been there for a year, almost gave up uploading because of no sales but maybe I'll focus a little more effort there after a $225.00 sale from a picture of Wild Lettuce flowers. ;D Didn't even notice I had a sale on July 1st until today! Only have 114 images online. Would love to know the name of the magazine. Probably gardening or something like that.

Here's the info from the sale

Country: United States
Usage: Editorial
Media: Consumer Magazine
Industry: Retail books/magazines/newspapers
Sub-Industry: Miscellaneous
Print run: up to 2 million
Placement: Inside
Image Size: 1/4 page
Start: 24 August 2009
End: 31 August 2009

If there was a KeywordEditor for Mac, I'd buy it right now.

Welcome to the forum. :)

I took a look at some of your work on Flickr and was very impressed! LOVE the white cat portrait and although it is artsy, I think it could work for stock as well as the fire pic. iStock even mentioned recently that they want more unique photos and I'm positive you can get in there if you keep trying. It took me 5 tries to get in but I was determined with little photography experience and over 20 years of experience in the graphic arts and fine arts.

A really good way to get some help is to upload photos to the help forums at the agencies before you submit to them. The Critique / Tips / Tricks on Shutterstock is a good place to get input from seasoned veterans more than happy to help you get in with your first 10. You can also upload your stock photos here for critique. Also, you can upload graphic design to most of the agencies. This is a very helpful group and I'm sure the microstock field could benefit from your inspiring talent. Go for it!

Alarming drop in downloads for the first 6 days of July but things are picking up now.

Oops. I played it 39 times. Kind of a good learning experience. Guessed 75.41% correct, rank 7.

There was no category for me 1-2 years. But I am very happy being involved in microstock. Rejections don't bother me and I usually stay detached from all the drama and ups and downs because I still have my regular day job. As far as I can tell, I'm in this for the long haul or as long as I continue to make progress and move towards that goal of 100% self employment. Hope it's not too many years off.  :)

General Stock Discussion / Re: Last minute buys

It is very common for people to buy seasonal graphics months ahead and right up to the day of the holiday. Also all year long. :)

The white line along the bark is a result of over sharpening.

Here is an example of artifacts in the sky from your first pic. It is kind of grainy looking. Instead, the transition between the different shades of blue should be smooth. You might need some type of noise reduction software to help with this and more importantly, shoot at the lowest ISO.

Veer / Re: Veer Marketplace Opens for Submissions!
« on: June 24, 2009, 15:17 »
I submitted my 10, and waited about 10 days.  Today, it shows that they are all rejected, but no reason is shown as to why.

It states "specific reasons for rejection are noted below" but there is nothing listed, and the individual pictures only show "Based on these 10 images, we can't offer you contributor privileges at this time. You are welcome to submit 10 new images".

Is there another place to look for the reason, or have I hit a bug?  I can't correct an error if I don't know what it is.

You need to click on the orange "See Comments" next to each photo.
