As a contributor from Germany I would prefer to continue with Paypal.
Paypal would not vanish as a option. Payoneer would just be added for those who have trouble or moral concerns working with paypal (or skrill).
BTW: Germans may be affected too. It happened to me while living there. They made it various times to the german TV because of their dubious "behavior":
The perfect transfer sercice doesn't exist, I think. But I 've never had any problems with Paypal, it just works.

In Germany and other countries of the EU fees and prices must be displayed BEFORE someone needs to sign up. Isn't it so in the United States?

One thing is for sure-I know some agencies that would have never asked us. Sure, you know what agencies I'm talking about

What I can't understand: Fotolia is a strong brand name, at least in Europe and especially in the German-speaking countries. Why this strong brand is devalued to such activities like founding the dpc?

And if you find that the filter over do (I tend to exaggerate too, sometime), as you will work on a new layer you will always have the possibility to adjust the layer opacity to have a better control of the result.
Totally agree, that's the secret. And of course the U Point technology (by NIK),which allows to control the effects very precisely.

Paypal is a great service, if you live in the US.
How do people who don't live in the US get their money into their pocket?
I am Canadian, living in Ecuador. In order to get funds I have to transfer Paypal to my Canadian Bank, and then withdraw from an ATM here. This involves many fees and lost money due to currency changes.
Is there somewhere online I can transfer to Western Union or some other service?
Thanks
Why did you not create a new paypal account from Ecuador and transfere your money directly to a bank in Ecuador?

Actually I can hardly imagine to work without the Nik Filters. I use them regularly (Color Efex Pro, Dfine most) and these filters are IMO the best on market.
I completely agree with you, except about Dfine as I find Noiseware much better (if you don't use the presets). Did you tried it? http://www.imagenomic.com/nw.aspx
Tutorial here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i_zSYzPDboo
Thank you Beppe, I'll give it a try!

What a charmer this guy is - here's his reply
https://twitter.com/AdamGuerbuez/status/470338905309708288
"Paying $10 for 10 hi-res stock photos to use freely in sites/promotions is great, even if they go out of biz all I lose is $10" Sort of the polar opposite of community spirit...
Sad to say, but from his point of view can we say that it is wrong?
From his point of view it may be right at the moment. But - let them get what they're paying for! No more quality pictures to Fotolia and the DPC! Never again!

This means that every person on earth has this pic downloaded about 5 times If that is not successful, then there's no success!

Just to mention it. Fotolia also offers videos, DPC does not. This makes also a part of the difference.

How can something be gone when it never existed (especially sales)
Agree. This is the agency where my photos even after 6 months still were on pending status some years ago. Crestock - what Crestock?

Is scam plan.
Subscription must be:
- A lot of number of images, hundred per month or many per day. - Proportional benefit for contributor. - Competitive risk for the agency (if a client download all the images of a top contributor) SS 750 x 0,38= 285 dollars...
Fotolia and Deposit Scam us.
Agree, there must be a definition for the term "subscription" - I think, this is a good summary!

All SS would have to do Legally, is offer a Exclusive Option with a few cents more. I would accept. Time is money and If I stopped taking all the time it took to upload to 9 agencies. I would win based on that alone. Im sure that would kill FT.
Agree. But would it be desirable to make Shutterstock to a monopolist?

I believe a class action lawsuit in the U.S. is free until you win; then the attorneys take 1/3. But you do need a group of people to initiate things and follow through and an attorney who thinks the case has merit and potential monetary damages are worth taking on the case.
For a still-small player like DPC, it's so much easier to simply choke off their revenue by opting out and starving them of product. The problem is getting in touch with all the contributors.
It depends on the lawyer. There's nothing that says class action lawsuits must pay that way, it's just there's a whole sector of that profession that seeks out winnable class action lawsuits and takes the proceeds if they win.
I don't think a trial lawyer would take this case.
Why you need a lawyer? A crime must be pursued in most western countries by the state. It is sufficient a complaint with the police. It should be examined whether the unsolicited disclosure of material to the DPC is a crime or not.

It's not quite that simple. With several long exposures, the camera will get warm - and then the results are getting worse. Then higher ISO might be the better solution.

This just arrived in my email inbox:
Dear Contributor,
We have some great news - our subscription payouts have all increased, starting from today!
Depending on whether your images are opt-out or opt-in with DPC, your new subscription payout will grow to either 20% or 25% of the face value of the download - with a guaranteed minimum of the commission you earn now.
So you can potentially earn five times more per subscription download (if you opt-in with DPC).
We notice you have opted out from DPC - to fully benefit from commission increases with Fotolia and additional revenue from untapped markets, we recommend you opt-in to our new fast-growing subscription website, Dollar Photo Club.
If you want to add your images back to Dollar Photo Club click here if not, then you need to do nothing.
We hope these changes will bring you significant additional revenues, starting now.
Thank you
The Fotolia Team
This is simply not true, Fotolia! I've got the same subscription payouts today as before

I use lights aimed at the background, behind the object, but that light above and behind the camera, that's new and interesting. They are pretty technical about it all. But it's just lights and distances. Wonder how that can be patented? I thought they invented some special light or something. Maybe I missed something, kind of skimmed through the copy.
I'm not sure if this is not an April Fool. any professional learns this method in his training.

In the German Stock Photography forum we have also discussed about it after a few photographers have received invitations. None of us had ever heard of this agency. Most have ignored the invitation.

I had a great April, but this month (May) SOD, OD, and EDs are almost non-existent. I'm wondering if anyone else is seeing this?
Not for me. SOD, OD and ELs as usual.
