I recently started back to focusing on them after i found I had a sale moths ago that I put as RM. So used to seeing the Micro commission.. then I see 1 license for 110 which got me 66. That is motivation there..lol. I do dribble in some of my Micro stuff there since I dont have to blow them up as much. but I also do RF specifically for them that dont hit my Micro sites.

I do love the editing tool and my que times are around 24 hours for inspection then the next day after keywording it is on sale. 100% Approval rate so far on my images.. but as said.. they do not check for content.. just quality.

May not be a big seller but the sales can be big on a single image. Deff. worth it to give them a shot.

Its becoming a really good roller coaster ride. Just apply Forrest Gump to your RPI and "You never know what your going to get".  I personally am refocusing and looking at downsizing who I submit too and looking towards other avenues of income with my Photos. DOnt know what.. but I am looking..lol.

New Sites - General / Re: The 3D Studio - anyway selling there?
« on: October 08, 2010, 11:40 »
I got $9 sale last month. I still upload there due to ... instant acceptance and no minimum payout level. You get paid each month as long as you got something in your account. Even though they dont sell like SS...I still like how they handle the contributors.

Plus I am working on learning Z Brush for 3D so its a place I can sell models if I get the hang of it.

Off Topic / Re: Russian scientist found cure for aging
« on: September 17, 2010, 15:13 »
Interesting link, I had not seen this. I have read about many possible 'fountains of youth' but most have too many problems. However, this might work.

After all, our bodies know how to repair and replace cells, so it is not clear why we should get old at all. The problems seems to be that damage is done faster than it can be repaired, and a lot of the damage is from oxygen radicals. So the 'cure' described in this video might work, at least to some extent. I will almost certainly be dead long dead by the time the FDA approves it here in the US though.

I thought the problem with cells replacing themselves was the cloning issue. Each copy is more imperfect than the one it replaces.

StockFresh commented on the situation on their blog.

Very nice.  This certainly comes at a perfect time for SF.  Just as so many buyers and former exclusives will be looking for a site that offers good commissions.  Great way to get started in the business!

Still waiting on an approval or rejection though. Those former exclusives might have to wait a bit.

Seldom a good idea to make sudden decisions is it ? And it would not change anything.

Yes it changes something. It changes which companies I feel like dealing with. So I wont deal with Istock. I dont really care if Istock cares or not. I care about what I am willing to deal with.

Well, I was taking a break during the summer slump. Now I see what all is going on.. so no more uploads there for me. If they would pay me the monies in my account, I would even pull my port just to save me and them some time. I am done with Istock but I do want what I am owed.

Tehy will. Just contact support - I just did it.

If you get your money.. Please let me know. I dont want to pull for nothing.

they have already openly stated that if you have money in there and it's not up to the $100 payout minimum, you will still get your money.  They will give you the money you have earned they aren't going to punish you for closing your account.

Ok, then I guess I will be writing support too. Thanks. Still trying to get caught up on info from the last couple of months.

Since you say your in a moist climate.... you might want to collect those little packets that sometimes come in shoe boxes and a few other things. I think they are silica packs to absorb moisture. If you can't find them then you might try some dry rice to make some home made packets.

First find for me...but not my pic. I just happened across this on Flickr... love the title to the Pic. So original.

Looks like it's on Istock to someone who has major sales.

Matter of fact... looks like this person has more than a few Stock Photos on their Flickr account. Might want to run through it and see if any are yours.

Thanks for the advice. Gonna take my time on these. This will kind of be a goal to improve myself with.

I am getting more interested in vectors now. I have been doing rasters in Xara Xtreem and love that program and very few vector conversions to eps10 for SS. I am now interested in trying to get some into Istock.

For you first samples, I am wondering if they need to be full out scenes or can they be objects. Backgrounds? I am thinking of a Thanksgiving Cartoon Turkey Scene so far. I also want to try a realistic Guitar as a solo object.

If anyone has any hints, tips or trick for getting the initial samples approved, I would appreciate it.

P.S. I know they only allow EPS8...which is going to cause me to study more stuff....lol.

Sharkie was rejected for bitmap elements now. Oh well. Just submitted the raster to the other sites then.

I just usually google what I am wanting to learn and go from there. IE: "How to Crop in Photoshop" or "Photoshop Pen Tool".

There is so much info on the net that I usually don't bother with books.

320
I have had a couple changed to better wording before...which I didn't mind.

Yea...with text you have to convert the fonts to shapes. If I remember correctly... you just right click on the word and convert to shape.

I am not sure but I think with EPS 8, the gradients rasterize or something. I am just doing ESP 10 just to make sure all remains vector.

I resubmitted this one... but the thumbnail I see on the SS page is of the old one. Is that just my cookies messing with me or theirs?

I will try that and maybe feather it a little bit and see what happens. Thanks for the help on this. Going to try one more time to get it approved. If it does not make it... moving on.
