In my case Europe is clearly the largest market, followed by the US. Then it's scattered across Australia, Malaysia, China, Russia and Brazil.
I don't see many SS sales from other countries.

Just about every time I try helping with stuff like this the OP usually makes me regret it, but I'll give it one more try.
The last time there was a pole here, maybe a couple years ago I think the average earnings per month per image was 75 cents. So 100 images spread across the top handful of sites would earn $75 per month. This obviously varies but the range was $0 to about $3 with .75 cents being common.
I don't think it's that way today. If I had to guess I'd say it's .25 cents now so a ballpark guesstimate would be 400 images to earn $100 per month. If your images are highly sellable you may do better. A poll on Alamy said the average was $1 per image per year, about 8 cents per image per month.
Like others have said, you already have some images and should have an idea of how they perform.
Spot on, that's exactly my average 0.25 per image/month. I'm trying to step up the game by creating less but better pictures and it seems to be working. My last 10 images approved in SS are selling more than my other 300 there. U$ 100 for coffee? Wow that's what I spend for a monthly supply of food in my country.

Deyan, it's hard to see how DPC can be good for contributors in the short or long term. By leaving your files at DPC you are effectively telling Fotolia that you are OK with the direction they are taking the industry. If you removed your files you would be offering solidarity with contributors and sending a clear message to DPC.
If we little boats gather together on the ocean and utilise only the wind of the supportive agencies then we'll likely have a sustainable industry for longer...
If the top 1% contributors got together in the decision making, the balance agency/contributor would be much more favorable to us. I hope the Fotolia D-day is the start of something bigger, but again it will only work properly if the top contributors are in as they hold the vast majority of the collection.

I like IS, it's my best earner and all... but * they should come to this century already. The time I spend uploading there is more than all my other 5 agencies put together.

I have noticed that as well, Shady Sue. From my sample search I see that some IS files (about half) are not on TS. Wonder what's the criteria for that.
It's probably just the connector not working. http://www.istockphoto.com/forum_messages.php?threadid=359960&page=1
Thanks, sent them a message regarding this... just to think I could be making twice with TS.

I don't see why they would close TS now that's already settled and running just fine. It would only loose customers on the transition. Also as a contributor I prefer 2 websites, two search engines and because IS barely sells anything, it would complicate the situation of new files.

I think it's around the 17th of the month by now. Looking good so far, already better than SS for the whole month.

Yes PixelBytes, it's not exactly in order day by day. Let's say it's more or less in order with a fair bit of randomness applied.

When a whole batch of 30 gets rejected with the same reason, you know something is wrong.

Mantis, do you still have sales after deactivation in DP?

If that's too much to ask, at least they should hold off similars like DT does. The way SS is doing just makes their collection even more redundant than it already is.

I for one hope Istocksy deers come back and kick shutterstocksy deers right in the nuts.
Actually they are already doing that in my monthly results.

I'm impressed how little the reaction from contributors after this reveal, 3% must be a record low in the industry. I'm so new in MS but already had to deal with 2 scams in a row, and it's just a matter of time until they will come up with a another one. You don't get an agency much worse than that.

Ok they raised their standards, my pictures are not good anymore for them. I had a very decent approval rate two months ago with the same quality of images, but whatever. I would be fine with it, but they accept so many similar trash that it's at least intriguing.
If they want to raise technical standards, then they should raise composition standards as well. People complain how IS went on reviews, but this is not different or it's even worse as all this effort doesn't even accomplish the goal which is to have a good looking collection.

My reviews are always fast, within a couple hours. But they are rejecting a lot of images recently.

I carry my Canon G15 around, 95% of the time is more than enough to get into micros. I always downside to 6MP or less to have better acceptance.

I can't get anything in for 2 weeks. I stopped uploading there.
Will resubmit everything later on but for now it's just a waste of time.

That's what I'm talking about, while 200 similar images like that go through, my 5 totally unique landscapes from Macedonia or whatever get banned. It's like composition doesn't matter anymore, as long as you have a super fancy camera. That's why I strongly prefer IS atitude over SS when it comes to image acceptance.

Yeah I would like to upload there but I don't need another Shutterstocksy agency.
