That's not my point. Stock is flooded with Gopro 4K videos and HD too, even if they are crap.

302
Has anyone used GoPro 4K footage? It's much worse than our upscaled 1080p. #justsayin

303
Did try with few cDNG 1080p clips. Went through everywhere with no problems.

305
Extremely slow August here too...  :(

Sales constantly dropping... no matter how much footage you upload. In July there were only 4 sales. Thinking about dropping too.

There are a lot of contributors undervaluing their (quality) work.

First of all... selling 4k for under $ 100 is absurd. Second... if they'll need 4k, they will find it.

Because 4k is so incredibly hard to produce and almost no camera in the world can handle it? Ethernet cables and wifi routers collapse under the pressure?

You price based on CONTENT. Not resolution.

A 4k clip of a duck should be cheap.

A 720p clip of an erupting volcano can be very expensive.

Sure, cuz your rent, equipment loans, software rent, monthly bills, and grocery expenses are price based on quality too?

Forget about it... we got rejected footage of a car shoot to close and it is now (because of new rules on SS) under copyright law because of "recognizable brand". No matter if we deleted all logos from the car. It is just a matter of time when even hot-dog will be rejected because it could be recognizable by its maker.

Funny, just a few days ago we wrote about stock media being used in various memes, but with no data of the source file. If they are used with no permission, they would at least get some free promotion for source files. We don't even want to know how many illegal abuses are present on world wide web.

isn't it funny, how many contributors justified their "100%" contributor commission system as a "right" way to go in stock industry... now it seems they earning the same as many other agencies  ;D ;D :laughingoutloud:

They pay like $47 for a HD sale unlike others that pay like $23.  It's not the same, bro.    ;D ;D :laughingoutloud:

not with so many tax witholds we had at VB. Then the incomes was as bad as elsewhere.

What's really funny is this used to be fairly normal up until about 15 years ago

Agreed. Today photos and videos are worth less than working as waiter.

Adobe Stock / Re: Adobe Stock Contributor Portal Updates

Is there a trick to updating keywords of old files on adobe stock? Because, if we change order of keywords, old ordering stays no matter what.

If google can adjust your search results based on location you live, what you usually search, what is currently interesting, what had more views and many other factors, why would be impossible to adjust such a small scale database for many other reasons? Don't underestimate the power of code. Never.

We are noticing drop of income too. First few months were average, now we are way under last year May.

There are 2 million video clips on SS. What is there to figure out? The video market is starting to saturate and competition is getting tougher. It happened to photos a while ago. Vectors wasn't too far behind.

Nobody want to admit their work isn't the best available, but buyers are truthful. They download what they want to download. There are no caps on SS. There is growing competition, and growing portfolio of content. Good content and good keywording are the keys to success.

Then explain me, why we see in three year analysis number of sold files per month slowly rising with number of uploaded footage, and those sold files per month are always in +-10 %. We've never seen one month being sold 10 files, and another 100. There is always between 50-70 files sold. This is clearly their capping system that gives priority for some factors we don't know yet.

We noticed strange cap of number of sales too on shutterstock. We had hundred of images for half a year and they were just crushing down our video sales. We will see what the next few months will bring after we deleted them.

General - Stock Video / Re: Mostly Stock Video Commercial?
« on: May 23, 2017, 00:46 »
We've seen our footage on National Geographic as part of a longer commercial.

You can spot most stock footage commercial by some factors; no brands included anywhere in video, one clip with no continuation, more non-related clips together with no brands...

General Stock Discussion / Re: Lost Shutterstock check

We have different info about Payoneer and Shutterstock. We can't use checks because of our type of business in our country and Skrill is a thief with their absurd fees.

Shutterstock.com / Re: Editorial Image Caption Issues
« on: May 17, 2017, 03:04 »
In most cases you have to get pre-approved to even submit editorial stuff. We have to send PRESS allowance of the event which we intend to upload. They send back a reference number and we put that number in when sending clips to currators. Long and useless procedure...
