Dear Ladies and Gents.
While we are all entitled to our own opinion, please lets tone down the swearing and name calling. I would love to continue this discussion in a positive manner in the comments section of the post on my site. Don't just sit around with your complaint buddies and shoulder pat each other on this forum. If you mean the things you say, put it in a good argument, and I will happily respond.

This is the prohibited list for visitors to the Whitehouse

Prohibited Items
Prohibited items include, but are not limited to, the following:

Video Recorders
Handbags, book bags, backpacks or purses
Food or beverages, tobacco products, personal grooming items (i.e. makeup, lotion, etc.)
Strollers
Any pointed objects
Aerosol containers
Guns, ammunition, fireworks, electric stun guns, mace, martial arts weapons/devices, or knives of any size

Would it make the President safer to allow more guns in the whitehouse?

..........
There are other ways to protect kids in schools besides banning all guns. We could put full-time police officers in every school, control access and formulate safety plans. If having full-time armed security is good enough for our president, why isn't it good enough for our school kids?......
I agree, that is why those lobbying for guns are also super into big government, the nanny state and 90% taxation that would be necessary for this safety planning and constant supervision of their children by government armed troops, sorry security guards.

Sorry. That's crap. A lot of schools already have school resource officers, and they are trained police officers. If safety is important, then we should make schools safer. Banning guns won't do that.
Oh I think it would! Do you actually have any evidence that having guns in schools make them safer - at best it seems somewhat counter intuitive or as you might say crap  :-\

I would have thought if your image was truly  unique and hard for others to produce something similar then  Microstock is the wrong channel? To be perfectly honest I don't have any images like that and I suspect not many do.

I always found IS to be tough but fair until they flipped to accept everything. I think SS have a certain type of stock style they like and if you don't fit then you are in trouble.

"Why do you think I should lose my civil rights because someone else abuses theirs?"

Cos my right to walk down the street as safely as practicable without risking some maniac blowing my head off outweighs your right to sit at home polishing your gun collection?

I keep my images on sale and occasionally they have it costs me nothing so why not? Though I do wonder why sites don't sometimes have a clean up as some dross no doubt has slipped through during the years.

I have met many old school photographers, professionals in the trade during 1990 and up to 2010, doing stock or "police and accidents".
They often failed to adapt to global crowdsourcing. Where people from Ucraine and Uri from Denmark simply produced a better product, because they produced a more precise, more striking content without distractions, that could be used globally and not only in the local media..
They could not compete or adapt. Their artistic development was halted because of greenhouse effects and lack of competition and it was characteristic that they said: " I like to shoot photos" and " I dont like to photoshop too much".
Which is exactly what you say.
So  I think you should ask yourself if the istock greehouse has limited you and if you are competitive in a global crowdsourcing environment.

And  I dare you: show us some of your photos.

If this were one exception......but its not

Proof if any were needed that the SS inspection process is seriously flawed. Whatever the merits of the pictures surely it can't make any sense if pictures that already commercially successful are rejected can it?

It wouldn't really matter if it was successful somewhere else.  My 10K seller on IS has sold maybe a handful of times on the others.

It will only really "matter" when it starts to impact on SS's bottom line - which it doesn't seem to (yet?) given their last set of figures.

I think that SS always reject your first submition... i dont know... maybe to check your constancy or something...

Im vector illustrator (im not on photography) anyway my first submition was also rejected because of bizarre reasons, my acceptance rate is about 99% after i was accepted up to today.

Which would be ridiculous in itself but the weight of evidence is overwhelming that the process is broken.

"It seems pretty extreme to go through the trouble of removing everyone gun for an insignificant problem. "

Has any one suggested this? I thought people were talking about control just like the ownership of say cars is controlled.

Except they are averaged as a total so as to smooth out the extremes.

They seems to be back at top tier, but for how long....?
The poll here is totally irrelevant and I must say, it's very misleading, especially for new contributors. With just a few votes, everybody interested can push the results up.
In the last two month (for me) Dt should be in low earners category, almost as ineffective as CT.

In the past, even without sales, I could see many views on new uploads, while in the last two month view are as sparse as at CT. That clearly means no exposure.

It may be but no more misleading than any individual's experience. For me its roughly correct. If any one knows any better source I would love to know.

Never been top 4 for me number 5 and slowly declining with the odd flicker of hope from time to time. Think with fotolia upping its game they may become one of the first casualties.
