As I'm not an English native speaker (you might have realized it already  ;D ) I thought it might be a good idea to open this thread. Our network is growing fast and many of us are not English native speakers but would like to have a site that does look professional ... including the English texts. So this is where native speakers could jump in, giving some help and hints.

So here is my first question:

Simple, reasonable pricing ... starting from 4 $

I think everybody can understand it, but is it correct and does it sound good in English?

BTW ... if a native speaker does find anything on my site that sounds strange or is just wrong, please let me know.

Symbiostock - General / Re: Twitter/Facebook list

Just added you Anita.
https://twitter.com/flashstockphoto is mine if anyone is interested.
By the way ... did anyone manage to use the twitter function of the premium plugin? I allways get error code 195

Thanks for your replies and hints. I checked first on XP and IE 8 ... now I used IE10 on Windows 7 and everything is okay. Thanks again :-)

I'm usually working with Firefox. Now I just checked my site on other browsers. Everything is fine on Firefox, Opera, Safari and Chrome. But not on Internet Explorer. The fonts in footer and sidebar are way to big and the whole design gets crashed ... strange enough only on the homepage. On the single image pages, FAQ, About, etc. everything looks like it should. Does anyone know how to fix that?

I just had a look into Wordfence Live Traffic: Someone from Calgary, Canada visited my site some hours ago ... wonder who it was  ;D
#81
Thanks for your replies. Leo, could you tell whether you plan to make this information visible?

Short feedback from me:
Working with the most recent versions of the theme and the premium update, everything seems to be stable here. I uploaded, processed and edited a new file and a friend of mine just did a test purchase of an extended license ... everything worked like it should ... cheers, Leo  :)

Ok, I purchased the plugin but there is no way to see which versions I bought. The file name really needs to indicate what I bought, I have no clue now.

Just install the plugin ... if it is not the most recent version you will be informed like for any other plugin  ... and can update with one click within seconds

When editing an image we can set whether an image is model or property released ... does anybody know whether it's possible to make this information visible on the single image pages?
#85
Leo is there an "apply to all" - button? And can licenses be modified once they are created? If not, could you implement it?
But first of all: Thanks for the premium plugin ... I think it can be improved a bit here and there ... but generally I really, really like it!
#86
I just found out: if you set the price upgrade to 0.00 it disappears  :)
Is it meant to work like that, Leo?
#87
I just did that: clicking yes for both standard and extended, but only standard appears in that way ... kind of strange.
Leo, are you around ... could you explain that to us?

one more thing that really bothers me:

what's that additional box doing there? it is not necessary as there is already a link to licenses above..

is it possible to turn it off?

I'm just setting my licenses and would like to get rid of that too. Did anyone find out how it works? I couldn't find an answer.

Funny, my acceptance ratio on Symbiostock is 87%

Yes, I review my own images, and I have less images on my own site then on some agencies.

Someone said that Symbiostock would suffer from lack of reviews, could have truth in it, but I think most people will be critical of their own work.

Anyone can start a Symbiostock site and fill it with crapstock, but I think the majority will keep up the quality we have established so far.

What is your acceptance ratio?

Very good point! My acceptance ratio is between 80 and 95 percent on the "big" agencies. But only around 50% on my site. I'm much more picky than most of the reviewers working for the well-known agencies.

COMMUNITY

I'd absolutely prefer Symbiostock having its own platform while moving away from "microstock" or any other known stock standard. Symbiostock is and should stay whatever the artist makes of it. And let's face it, when "microstock" stands for volume sales at peanut earnings (per sale) - most Symbiostock sites don't fit in anymore anyway.
Let's give Symbiostock an aura of independence, freedom and individual responsibility.
I'm sure this will attract many more people who don't like the principles of microstock (anymore).

I tend to agree with you ... but only to a certain degree. I think staying here (at least for a while) would have the advantage of discussing in midst of many others who might read us here and might therefore decide to join our network.

Glad you like the idea ... but honestly I didn't really understand your suggested step forward. Could you explain it a bit please ...

Basically when someone searches a site it has a prompt that there is a central search engine, and how many images are available.

Sounds good to me ... I guess it's reasonable to show our buyers whereever we can that there is a big and growing database of files they can choose from.

An idea I have in mind since a week or two: Wouldn't it be great to showcase what Symbiostock already can offer (over 100.000 files) on the central symbiostock search. Being a buyer I would expect to see photos and illustrations there. It could be done with changing big photos (like alamy does it for example). But to emphasize the network I would suggest showing many, many small photos and illustrations  ... like matt has done in the last slide of symbiostock.net (btw matt we reached 100.000 ... but the last slide still says 60.000  ;) )
So perhaps everyone could provide one or two small files for that purpose.

I'm very happy that Premium is available now ... and I'm glad you don't give it away for free, Leo.  This evening or tomorrow I will have time to install it and it will be a pleasure for me to spend 75 $ for your hard work.
#95
So great ... things getting started  :D
Do you have wordfence installed  could you see whether the buyer came from google or another symbiostock site?
#96
Congrats :-) Which image did you sell?
#97
As far as I understood Leo's plugin is focused on the images while Yoast covers the entire website.

My images are indexed almost completely while still two thirds of the urls are missing

You should monetize your effort Leo. Maybe you can offer to the old members that run a symbiostock website from the early days and helped you to test how it work, a good discount or for free some plugin. Other like me can buy with no worries the needed plugins; in wordpress we must pay for a lot of good plugin and it's fine I think.

I'm with alberto, too. You have invested so much time and effort and should receive more than our thankfulness. I understand that you do not want symbiostock sites being devided in those who can afford it and those who can't. But if it's a plugin as you said anybody can start a well working site for free and decide later whether to purchase the plugin or not.
