Well lets say, 3 max in the beginning. That is not much, but lets remember they really should be neglected and should be good images. That should be a good lightbox, if the lightbox quality is bad than it wont work as well, I think. Also lets say if one of us has doubts wether to accept an image he should ask another admin who manages the lightbox.
Lets say the image should be older than a mont with in the average not more than 2dls a month an one rating a month. The maximum should be 10dls and 5 ratings. Images will be removed after they reach 50dls.
Is that ok? I think we can start with this. We might change the rules whenever we think they are not good enough. Please do not be mad with us, if we do not accept every image..
You can send as your image links via sitemail. So we will try to stick roughly to it.  "Loose rules" as CJPhoto proposed

Thankyou Opla :) I found it, so who wants to volunteer? Maybe someone with good English experience (to correct my description of the lightbox, I am German) and who has some experience in photography (who knows if an image is really neglected).

Thats a good idea CJPhoto. I think I will do this. however as far as I know in the beginning I need at least 20 images to go public. If you have keyword ideas for the lightbox, I would be happy.
Do you know if there is a possibility if more than one person can manage a lightbox? I do not know if I allways have time to look after it..
I will take your advice regarding the rules.
I will set up the following rules:
To be accepted the image should have no more than 10Dls, less than 5 ratings. When the image reaches 50 Dls sooner or later, depends how much time I have, it will be removed. Should I accept every image according to the choice of the people who send me the links?
The reason I ask, I think I will not allways agree that the images people think are neglected are really neglected. I do not want people to get mad at me, like they do at the reviewers (the poor guys :))
Any comments regarding the rules or about this idea?

Hi, now with all the Creative Networking going on IS in the last day, I got an idea. Usually most of us have images which are great, often much better than those with lots of dls, but themselves have no dls and almost not a lot of views. Often the reason is, that these images just get buried under thousends of other images, and the people who are searching for these images have allmost no chance of finding them. I think that is one reason why istock came up with the rating. However if people do not see this images how should they get good ratings. So the thought came to my mind, that we post an image we think is totally neglected. And the people of this forum can decide if they want to rate it on Istock. What do you think of this?
It would also be nice to know how that will increase the dls. So people who will post an image should give feedback how well it sold after the rating.
Who wants to be the first? :)

I wrote an e-mail to PM and asked them if in future there will be a possibility where they will make their site available also in Englisch. They answered that they are working on it and that it hopefully will be available in the near future.

Reading you reply leaf, got me an idea. If you really want to try out panthermedia I have got a solution for you.
Go to SS, click on Images in gallery and than click on the image you want to submit to Panthermedia. Now you should see on the left side, the American/British flag. Click on it, and select the language "German".
Now you can copy/paste the keywords, since now they show up in German :) I just remembered that, because my Windows is in German and SS adjusted the language to it. Although I must say the translation is not totally perfect..
You can use IS too.

Andrew, i believe you can be much more successful than I am. You have much more experience, for me it is just a hobby. If you do it fulltime you will do much better than me I believe. Try to get on Shutterstock. Thats is my best earning site.

My acceptance ratio got much better @ DT. But I also got much more careful which images I upload. And I only have batches of max 5 images. But mainly because I want images that sell better than the most I submitted first. There are a few which have not been dled for over a year.
I trust them with their business ideas. That is because I believe, they too want to make the most money out of the images. If they earn more, we will earn more too. I believe, they have a better overview how and to which prices to sell the images is the best. So I like the changes. This shows that they want to improve instead of sticking to the way it allways has been done. So we have an increase in prices for singele dls, but an decrease in prices of subscription dls. I like the increase, but also am curious how the subscription dls will work.
Everyone knows how well it works for SS. So why should it not improve the overall earnings?
They decreased the prices of the extended licenses a lot. I believe that is good too. Remember, they tried it out first. Apparently they made more money in that way, thats why they did it. If they made more money with the decreased extended license sales, that means the photographers in the average also made more money.
I trust that they will stop the Free section, if it shows, that there will be less sales because of it.
But I think it wont be so.
There will allways be photographers who will complain if changes happen. But first of all you never can consider every opinion of every photographer. But changes are good. They might bring improvement. to do changes are sometimes risky. So I think we just have to wait. I do not believe at all my earnigns will decrease a lot at DT with its new price structure. But only time can tell.
I do not think the photographers opinions who are not happy with DT are irrelevant. I just think DT cannont consider all opinions otherwise they wont get anything done. And I do not make your opinion sound irrelevant madelaid. I understand you concern. That what you think was my first thought too. 25 c... that is not a lot. But maybe I do not think in the end as bad about it, because my 25cent/image earnings at SS make me about three times as much earnings (with less images) than I get at DT.
I have one image at SS which has in less than half a year 650 DLs.
My best seller at DT has 31 Dls and that is online about a year.

Well, I have about 400 @ DT, 300 @SS, 75@IS, and about 315 @ FT, and 380 @ StockXpert. Those are the sites with the main income for me. I am doing this while I am studying. I started at the end of 2005.
And I am just about to get over 400$ a month.

I do not know, if your images would sell there. Nature and travel images do not sell as well as the business images I believe. Certainly you need patience. If you need a good dictionary, http://dict.leo.org/ is the best dictionary I know of. The min resolution is 1600 x 1200 Pixel.
The printing on t-shirts, mugs, etc requires the merchandise license, as I understand. You get about three times as much as for the royalty free license.
I do not know if it will be worth the effort for you. If you have to look up a lot of words in the dictionary it will be really time consuming. Here is a link of the most sold images: http://www.panthermedia.net/index2.php?page=ba_fotos_mostwanted.php&parent_id=off

My account is for free. It is named "FC-Standard". There is an acount which is called "FC-Premium", where you have to pay 5 a month. But the only difference, as far as I see is, that you have an additional storage on that website of 500 MB.
But the pictures you upload and put in the "FC" (Fotocommunity) to rate and comment on or/and to sell them do not need this Storage.
So I do not know why anyone has a reason to get an "premium account" where he has to pay for it.

Panthermedia.net / Panthermedia.net for the German speakers
« on: January 19, 2007, 06:12 »
I am sad this site is only in German. www.panthermedia.net is the first Stockphotography site I submitted to.
I never really had dls there till end of 2005, beginning of 2006. But somehow for whatever reason, the sales started to come.
The lowest price/ image is 4,90 Euro for a Royalty-Free License, the highest is 239,90 for a Merchandising License. And you get 50%.
So if you have a dl, you are happy :)
And within the last 8 days I had 3 dls. The total income was 44,85 Euro.
That is one reason I am posting. Maybe there are some German speakers who are interested in this site.
But I have to say, that there were no sales in the two month before these sales. My income totalling is now 211 Euro with 12 sales, mostly sales within the last year together with the three sales in the last days this year.  I have 90 images online.
They have FTP, and they also have a good acceptance ratio.
They are doing a lot of marketing and are working together with many different companies.
Well and then I just discovered they have a referral link  ::)

Is there anyone else who has experience with this site?
