The good thing about Mostphotos is that their payout threshold is only 10 Euro. So that is actually one of the places I have the most regular payouts.

As a botanist I want to point out that color and size are no good for finding the correct species. A Hydrangea for instance can change color from pink to blue if you change the acidity of the soil.

Leaf shape and number of petals are better, but not perfect. Good quality local floras with identification keys are your best bet.

Honestly; preikestolen has been done from all angles and then some. Kjeragbolten is a little bit better, but Trolltunga is much more in demand, since it is less accessible. If he goes up there, I would also try to get some shots in the old factory town of Odda. And Rosendal is fantastic, especially in spring. Several songs have been written about the fruit trees in Hardanger.

In Stavanger, I would look to the sea, that is what the locals do. It is the oil capitol; he should be able to get some good industry shots, the oil museum might be a good start. There are ferry boats and high speed passenger boats going to all directions from Stavanger, one of them all the way to Bergen. Would definitely recommend doing that.

Kvitsøy is a tiny municipality a short ferry trip from Stavanger, places like that are full of photo opportunities. 

Honestly, I've only been in Stavanger city once, and really didn't care for the town. As you might have guessed, I prefer the fjords further to the north.

I also have an iceberg that sells nicely, but the best sellers are all boring everyday stuff isolated on white.

My husband had a job as a software engineer at a company once. They never got around to fixing the billing system properly, just added quick fixes. After a couple of years it was so buggy that my husband had to spend 28 hours every end of month going through and correcting the numbers manually. If he didn't do that, no bills were sent. No one else had any clue what to do. He complained monthly, but the bosses said there were no time or money to do decent repairs.
When he quit, they kept paying him full salary for more than a year to do these 28 hours/month, while they hired 4-5 people to make a brand new billing system on the side.

I think something similar is happening with the PP-payouts. The person who knows what to do has quit, fallen ill, or died. Or maybe he just took a vacation. If he gets back to work, we will get our money. If he died, it will probably take a year or so before we get anything.

I deleted all my people pictures from Istock during the RC-chaos. That was a relief now. It would be annoying if a "spoon on white" was given away, but I would not like to completely loose controll over my model released shots.

Mainly northern Europe and the "Scandinavian" parts of USA, otherwise scattered around the globe. I have one picture of a Norwegian garden that almost only sells in India.

I wont have any problems with maintaining my current percentage, unless they invent a new level of 14 % or less. Maybe I shouldn't have said that out load, they might get ideas...

Did iStock ever get 'round to selling logos? I'm looking for somewhere to buy one. Any tips? My budget and project are tiny.

How can I see whether I have files in the free section? I think I have remembered to check the box for no every time, but sometimes it resets to yes, and I might have missed one of those.

I miss the option: "I'm at rock bottom and don't expect that to change".

@scottbraut: I wish Shutterstock would give us the opportunity to opt in or out on an image basis. About 10 % of my pictures are of children, and I can't (and won't) opt those in. But the other 90 % of the portfolio would not be a problem.

11 subs this year, average 0.40.

Veer is not on my top ten list, but thanks to the upload bonus I have reached payout there.

I made in total 0,19% (32 cents) more in February than in January. The distribution between the agencies had much larger variation.

My last January sales got in today, and I reached payout.

Mine stopped at the 22th today. Is IS having a break, or is the answer that my sales stopped that date? I hope the first is true, because I'm one sale short of payout.

My record low was 9 cents on Istock about a week ago.

I opted out, but would have liked to decide on an image to image basis. Also, the type of use is very important. I couldn't care less if my face was used in an ad for a weird political party in southern Mongolia, but a local left wing party is not OK.

I sure won't hire that model - complaining about contracts and making trouble.
