My top three: IS, SS and DT all finished significantly lower in Dec 08 vs Dec 07, certainly 2008 is better than 2007 as a year, but the Nov/Dec drop is so big, it's just non performing.

It's a disaster for me, Istock used to be either #1 or #2, however this month, even bigstock, stockxpert, fotolia, shutterstock, 123rf all are head of Istock, does that ever happen to you?

I have been doing microstock for two yeas, and things have been pretty decent for me, however I noticed one interesting fact:

I do commericial architecture, models, and landscape, since I have been reasonably successful in architecture, so my most popular will be always architecture, so people have to dig deep into my portfolio to find landscape and model photos, as a result, the other photos are not getting the fair share of the exposure.

So do any one has more than one portfolio at one site? especially for for guys with a dominant catergory of images, if you don't have a separate portfolio, are you short change yourself? thanks.

You guys are all pretty good, here is mine:
SS   65%
IS    43%
DT   46%
BigStock 28%
FT   33%
StockXpert 26%

I had the same situation, I had a decent month the first 3 weeks of Feb, then all of sudden, the last two weeks, my ranking drops from 600 to 2400:(

Feb was the BME for me, IS contiunes to impress me with 5 BME in a roll, now for the first time over taken SS for the highest earner for a month, here is the breakdown:

1. IS     33.50% BME
2. SS    23.98%
3. DT   17.71% BME
4. BigStock  8.09%
5. 123  5.57% BME
6. FT    5.56%
7. StockXpert  2.86% worst month

I tested waters with editorial there, submitted 10, non were accepted, due to the type of images ( they are all parade pictures )
So I really don't know what they are looking for.

Same problem here, it happened before, maybe you will be OK tomorrow.

DT always a very steady seller for me, but not any more this month since 10% of my portfolio became level 2 and level 3 and level 4, now, it's the worst month since last Dec despite doubling my images for the year:(

Thanks for all the good discussing, I found it's obsurd to reject those photos, here is one email from Stockxpert after rejecting a batch of 30 of my most popular interior residencial photos:

"Thank you very much for understanding. We wish to accept those images as they are great, but we need the releases.

This is what we currently require property releases for:

Objects that are copyrighted/trademarked, interiors or exteriors of buildings (commercial and residential), resorts and other private property that could be proven as being unique."

Image in questions sold everywhere like hot cakes:

Thanks for your reply, so if StockXpert thinks this needs property release, what this will make the other sites like:
SS, IS, DT, FT, BigStock
Are they not following the general guideline?
#13
I just had bunch of rejections for not having property release, this is the first time I ever come across this, none of the other sites have asked me for that before, is it insane or it's the new rule?  ( by the way I got rejected a bundle from them recently on property release)
Here is one they just rejected but accepted every where else:

SS Oct 24's batch still pending ???
IS 4-6 days
DT 3 days
StockXpert 2 weeks?
BigStock 2-3 weeks?
#15
Sorry I did not make it clear, this is one of them, the others are:

This month I am lucky with 3 from SS,

#17
Mine probably one of the lowest: 11.4
#19
Sorry forgot FT, which is 5.17%

so not that exciting,  a year ago, when I have 50% less images, still have similar results, so now uploading is a way just try to stay level:(
#20
For me,  here is the result:

1. SS   39.15%
2. DT   19.94%
3. IS    18.48%
4. BigStock   9.57%
5. StockXpert   7.68%
6. FT

460 for the month of Sept, second best month after April, despite a couple of hundreds uploads since then.
#22
Interesting idea, let's play, see whether it will have any bearings, here is one of mine:

My best selling catogory on all six sites I am on got rejected for " we are not looking for..."
Their rejection is so stupid, and rejected everything, my latest batch of 30 over 3 weeks all get rejected with that famous reason.
Can they have some reviewers that knows what they are doing?

With a shortage of reviewer, I just had my worst day at SS.
I had a batch of 30 editorial approved 27 out 30 last week, and this week's batch of 35( of the same shoot ) being all rejected claiming no commerical value.
What kind of consistency they have, really bad way to treat a photographer's work so carelessly. ???

here is my result, 9 months into the business, with total of 7070 Dls,

$0.31 SS
$0.80 DT
$0.54 IS
$0.59 FT
$0.74 BigStock
$0.78 StockXpert

the ranking is based on total revenue.
