I'll take a break from uploading to Photodune!  All of a sudden hardly anything is being accepted, even proven winners that are still being downloaded at the other top sites!  I also know how imagery is being used in layouts because my profession is Graphics Design for 30+ years!

True again, The more you invest in a business strategy the more earnings potential you have.  In this case, if anyone wants commission off of device cover, and apparel sales with or without using their own images and don't want to setup that business model up themselves, this might be a great option.

I had offered some free files to 123rf when I joined the site some years ago but it is the only site I've experienced where the free files might attract views!  I seem to get sales when I resubmit (donate) free files on this site for a set number of days of my choosing and not much when I don't!

Maybe this site does alot of advertising with the free files!  Your guess is as good as mine!

Haven't had any sales on DT since 6-9-12!  Haven't gone without a sale there for this duration in quite some time!

Logos have been sold this way through some agencies on the internet for some time but I think the crowdsourcing is worse now!  The designer's chances of selling a design after creating it based on this business arrangement decreases.  I only sell logo designs through my design business and the clientle steadily builds up through referrals!

Traveling to Rio, especially for Carnival, is on my "bucket list" of things to do!

Agree!  I always make the time to promote my business ventures and hobbies!  Self promotion gives you control on how successful your ventures will be and you'll only get better the more you do it!  The internet provides a lot of effective resources for online promotion.  The more you showcase your work on the agencies that provide you with the best rate of return then the more exposure these agencies will get!  No agency grows by itself!

Good to see a company "really" listening and working with their contributors for the benefit of all!

I've opted out of the plan and let them know that I thought the commission on Unlimited reproduction is way too low!

You have to go into each image individually and deactivate it. Click on your image in your portfolio, and on the details page, in the right bottom corner, I think it says Administration. Open that section and you will see where you can deactivate (sorry, I don't have any images left there now, so I can't go check for the exact procedure).

Or, you might be able to email support and have them do it, but if you want it done quickly, you should do it yourself. I'm guessing it will take them months to get to it.

edit: Or, maybe not...with them being in such a big hurry to get rid of independents off their site, maybe they will be happy to oblige!

I'll be leaving!   I've stopped uploading new images a while back but staying for 15% commissions will only strengthen the case for lower commissions at the other agencies I submit to!  I'm not the best photographer around but I know the images that have been accepted have more value elsewhere than keeping them at this agency!
