Can't login for a couple of hours at 123RF...are they down for maintenence?

Already forgot this site: signed up early June, logged in today:  Your application is waiting to be reviewed......
THREE months to review some application files? Sounds promissing once we can submit our files........

I have a couple of sales now and then. I also had some images removed but that was announced in their newsletter. Good agency, getting better and better.

If it takes that long to review a couple of files it doesn't sound very promissing for the submissions we all will upload once we get approved.

They have taken the risk of spending lots of money to pay us to upload -> there is no risk here: Dash for Cash applies to all approved uploads till june 30th......the one's I submitted half of May are still pending!

For those who joined Dreamstock, don't bother uploading your Christmasfiles: with this $ 0.10 concept they'll be gone before the fall

Quote from: studioportosabbia on June 14, 2010, 18:05I wonder why the approval process takes so long at the moment, I have them pending for a week now

We've had a steady increase in submissions, which has been adding to our approval time. We're in the process of bringing on a number of new inspectors, so I'd expect approval times to be back to normal in a couple of weeks.  In the mean time keep submitting as usual and they will be processed as soon as we possibly can.

Thanks,
Duncan

a number of new inspectors? That explains some weird rejections because of keywords :) :) Don't worry, they will learn fast!

Thanks for the info, Alex! I thought the problem was my FTP program

Sounds great! Sales are picking up there! I wonder why the approval process takes so long at the moment, I have them pending for a week now

Quote from: studioportosabbia on June 12, 2010, 01:12... I should have "complained" earlier: I just found out that I had a Fotosearch
Regular XS $ 7.07 today. Not a huge amount but very nice after all those 0.30 sales I had so far!

Somebody sounds spoiled here: XS sale for $7.07 - that's not bad at all. Actually I don't even know any Microstock site that pays over $7 for a XS image.

You're right, I forgot it's a XS image but compared to the amounts mentioned here before it isn't big. Would be happy to sell many more XS iamges for this rate :)

If we are losing year end payouts, it would be nice if the minimum payout would be dropped to $50 minimum. The more frequent payouts would be evenly spread out over the year so I can't imagine that it would over stress the payments dept. This would help encourage the submitters with smaller portfolios.

I agree.....with the sales I have at the moment it takes at least 4 years to get that $ 100,--!

Congrats! Nice pic!
Do I miss something? I read about Fotosearch earnings about $ 17 and more. I only had a few fotosearch sales but not over $1, -- so far. Do you have to opt in somewhere to catch the big fish?

Last february I decided to have all my StockXpert files tranferred to Thinkstock. In the meantime I contacted StockXpert several times but was told that they are still in the migration process and it can last till the summer before all files are actually on Thinkstock.

Four months later: no files on Thinkstock so no earnings from those images.

Does anyone have the same experience?

good for you but I would suggest that its just a random piece of good luck.
I agree! Sales are picking up but the largest sale for me was a guest sale for $2,--. i read about big Fotosearch sales but so far I only got Fotosearch subscriptions for $.30 each :(

If you like, you could use the credits to buy some of my images.  ;D

It would be very much appreciated!

I forgot to ask...anyone else have the same issue today?

Same here! I send them an email yesterday to find out if there was something wrong. Today I had my files reviewed and only 20% was approved. Lots of files were approved by others and rejected by 123RF for poor lightning/composition. They weren't that picky before so I don't know what's going on there. Maybe they forget that they need contributors to keep the business running?

Just trust them....If they want they can show lower sales anyway. It's a matter of trust and 123 always replies to emails with questions about this matter.

Sites that no longer exist / RIP Pixamba
April 26, 2010, 15:36
Funny, after they approved my november uploads last week I received this email today:

Dear contributors,
I am sorry to tell you that we have decided to shutdown Pixamba microstock collection.
Pixamba will be focusing on delivery of our innovative media management SaaS for stock imagery consumers.

The microstock collection at http://www.pixamba.com will go down on the week of May 3 2010.
All the images will be safely and permanently removed from our servers.
We'll send you all and any payouts you got with us before the shutdown.
Please feel free to write us to [email protected] for any question you may have.

Pixamba media management service will go live shortly after the microstock site shutdown. The new service helps imagery consumers organize and manage their archives offering instant search, convenient cataloging, built-in media auto-tagging and other unique features.

Thank you for being with us,
David Mail, CEO Pixamba

It is absurd to subject non-US residents to a 30% tax rate especially as they are unable to claim it back .

The most absurd thing is that they processed that taxform on january 17th and refuse to refund tax over the sales between january 1st and january 16th. It's not a huge amount but maybe others are earning serious $$ and are in the same situation. All sales were taxed, so I guess I only sell images to the US? Weird....

What I really don't understand is why the withhold taxes on all sales and not just US based ones. This is how SS does it.

It's only on US sales. Only a fraction of my sales is taxed.
You submitted the form right? I didn't and all my sales get taxed. On SS I also didn't submit the forms and only US sales get taxed.

Same here, &*%$# Fotolia taxed ALL sales from january 1st till the date the received that stupid form. They suggested a refund but just received another message that they are not going to give back the money. I'm a non US resident so why should I pay tax and what is Fotolia doing with the money? I hope they invest it in their customer services and get some customer friendly training :)
