Thank you all for the info and yes indeed I misunderstood the email. I've returned an email asking for more info, see what happens.

Today I received an email enquiry but honestly, I think this is spam. Anybody any idea ? > Hi, > > I found your site & was intrigued by your photography. I thought your site might be a good fit for a text ad I'd like to put up. I can pay you through Paypal if that's alright. If you're interested at all, please let me know, and I'll send you some more information to look over. > > Thanks, > > Karen > > > -------------------------------------- > Karen McManus

Are there other members who want to close their DT account? Please don't wait to go ahead. The less competition for me the better.

Wizz Air is a low cost company with very very low quality, so it's obvious they don't want to pay for anything.
You don't seem to understand (and I don't understand why this is so hard) that any kind of advertising is branding, even your local plumber's. I mean... isn't it kinda obvious that he wants attention for his stuff, wants ppl to remember his service offer, not somebody else... duh? For the rest: we used to buy RM, and guess what, as micro started to take off, clients directed us there. I didn't even know about istock for years after it existed, untill a marketing manager several years ago (wizz air) started sending over thumbails and links for pictures to use in layouts. You have no idea how frugal even giant companies are. Their corporate trained marketing ppl are told to push everyone to the edge for every penny. If they could charge you for working, they would do it (actually they are doing that more and more...) + as economy collapses and budgets shrink even more.
As linux user (ubuntu for the moment) I'm using only soft available under that platform. This excludes all the major application like lightroom or photoshop and also the soft from nikon since these softs doesn't work on linux. My basic software used for the moment is : darktable as raw converter and editing picasa as library manager prostockmaster (older version) used for tagging eventualy: luminance for hdr gimp for special editing
Are there other linux users on this forum ? And what is your workflow ?

I have had hardly any downloads with over 200 files.
No offense, but 200 or even 300+ and no or virtually no sales at all sites, you must be doing everything really wrong. Instead of bitching about it here every 5 minutes, do something about your photography skills. Or just forget about it altogether it's really not worth wasting yours, nor out time. It's absolutely futile to continue uploading such content, you wouldn't make 500$/month with over 5k photos (while you should be making over 5k every month if your photos were any good)
Woow, you really had to leave the first two words out of this. More wars were started this way.

COOL, I can't wait for 26 July I wonder if featuring artists around their birthday is a 'thing'. After nearly 7 years on Dreamstime I was featured last November, like you, right after my birthday.
I'm with Redbubble for more than a year now and with a port of +200 pictures I only had one sale. Have to admit I never took care of "keywords" to find my work but I promote it using my personal site and my facebook page. Since I only offer "printed products" I don't know how the T-shirts and other products sales are.

After my disappointment on the unprofessional communication to their contributors (especially the ones that don't read MSG that often) I considered to stop posting. The only thing keeping me posting is expecting they will install a way to get a method to be able to upgrade your contribution percentage once you reach the now installed rules. But my confidence on this is very low.

The problem is not the change in commission but the total amateurism in the way to communicate this and the attitude towards the international contributors is a shame for a worldwide company. 1. At first no communication at all only on this msg site there was a first message on this. 2. After some weeks of feedback of the worried users on this forum finally 123rf putted that contributors had received an email on this. I've written an email to the office of 123rf in Belgium an even there they didn't know anything about changes coming up. Above this it seems ,although they claim they did send an email(why not mention it from the beginning), nobody received an email after all. 3. Till today nobody knows what the new commission scheme will be. Nothing on the 123rf website, what is the use of having a blog on 123rf anyway ?

Thanks to this ongoing saga I completely lost my trust in 123RF.

Just to be sure I've deleted my few editorial images on Alamy since I can only put them as RM and not as RF. Have to think what to do in future with editorials. I'm just starting submitting this kind of pictures.

On Alamy one can only upload editorial images as "Rights Managed" with restrictions set. Is it still possible to upload the same images to other stocksites like DT, also editorial. (on both sites non-exclusive of course). ?

Didn't do it in the past but with my "new collection " I've started experimenting with it. Only a part of my stockphotos is included there. For these pictures I add a link to one of my stocksites. http://users.telenet.be/cathyendirk/7horses4/index.html
