v2.4.8

http://stockwalkn.com/stock/symbiocard.xml has been generated ok but

the entire file http://stockwalkn.com/stock/symbiostock_image_info.xml
consists of
<?xml version="1.0"?>
<images/>

With previous versions this site had all the time 0 images in csv too.
I think it is because it has networking off. (?)

I just installed 2.4.8 and happy to report that it seems stable..

Not a bug but something that can cause a LOT of work if you get it wrong which is easy to do.

The Symbiostock Bee author options

I selected the Exclusive of the non exclusive/exclusive option a while ago in the hope that it would become the default as I was intending to only upload exclusive for the foreseeable future.

Days later I adjusted the prices and did a global change, unfortunately for me it changed ALL my images to all the default options resulting in all my images being listed as exclusive (so I have been on a major deleting spree elsewhere today so as to leave them that way).

Is it at all possible please for each change option to have it's own "save" button  at some point?

Ron

Same with assigning categories. You can bulk assign a category, but if you tick the wrong box, you need to go back one by one to untick the wrongly assigned category.

Also a more advanced bulk edit still needed

Ron

Dont know if this has been reported yet, but I get this error when there is a dot in the image name for example my images with St. Louis

No matching image files found. You may have named them incorrectly. Fix problem and re-upload. This file has been removed. Example: "my_stock_art.eps" or "my_stock_art.zip" must have accompanying ""my_stock_art.jpg" to be considered a valid set/file.

Hard to say if its a bug - the system recognizes the "." as a separator between the file name and file type. I may be able to improve it in the future though so it uses some depthier ways of recognizing files. Thanks for mentioning.

Ron

I see what you mean. Maybe you can tell the system that the dot at the 4th place from the right is the separator

steheap

I didn't think you could have a dot in a file name? THings like hyphens and underscore are OK, but dots?

Thats a good idea - reading the first occurrence of a dot reading from right to left. Also PHP has some file recognition classes but experimenting with them I'm not sure they offer a big advantage.

Does anyone else use the large latest image slider on their front page - not sure if it is a co-incidence but it does not seem to update with latest images for the last couple of days (on laptop or tablet).  Yesterday I deleted it, changed front page template and then reinstalled it before it would start, today I am going to wait and see.  It should have Christmassy type illustrations for at least the next 12 hours or so.

I havent made any changes to my site recently but I just uploaded an image and it isn't showing up in the Latest Images Widget on my Home page.

edit to add:
I was trying to edit the text in the footer and that won't update either.

Ron

I am adding images as we speak, but that latest image widget is working for me. 2.4.8

2.4.8 also but none of the widgets are accepting changes or updating.

Leo Blanchette

If any of you are using wp-super-cache it will not reflect your changes right away. Other than that, are you referring to them not updating in your admin screen? After you push "save?"

The only change I made to the site was adding super cache.
(the only thing I added to the Super Cache code was the line for  the customer-licence-and-file-management-area/)

But because of this problem I disabled Super Cache and the Widgets still wouldn't save and update.
I did find that if I went to pages clicked update for the Home page the widget changes showed up.

2.4.9 is ready.

And before you PANIC "Oh no! There is a filtering system! There goes the town!" please study it first and understand it does not require any action on your part right now.

I'm going to save the tutorial for later. For now you can just update and see if anything blows up.

EEEP! 2.4.9 broke search!!

No thumbs show up at all, on any search on my site at the moment...

LOL Meltdown. Its going to cause a chain reaction through the network.

Perform this SIMPLE function:

Go into your admin and regenerate your image info - you know the place.

THP Creative

to clarify...

do you mean this "Update all existing images with new values? Caution! " tick box?

or

"Update public image info?" tick box?

Coz I already did the 2nd one and it aint fixed... (done it again to make sure, still broke)
