What's your reasoning for going exclusive?
I'm taking a wild guess here: making more money. (and less hassle).
less hassle = yes
making more money = impossible
you'd be surprised.

If they offer $5000 per image, we could start talking..
Why not $50,000 ?

A so-so month for us as IS exclusives (2nd BME). No EL's this month. 128% better then 02/2011 -13% from last month (before PP for Feb). Just shy of 500 downloads and just over 2K earned.
Portfolio still growing but downloads haven't moved for 6 months now!

My images make me more than that would be worth. Btw, Lisa, I don't think models get a say in it, as long as the releases stand.
YOU aren't really a good example for just about anything...

You can't be exclusive to IS before you have 250 downloads so why not apply to both in the mean ime ?

Has anyone seen any documentation on HOW funds (sales figures) are transferred into our iS accounts?
I'm seeing piece meal, intermittent updates at appx 28 cents per transaction. Is that the norm?
Yes it is.

Perhaps the issue is that people are focusing on the wrong problem and therefor coming up with the wrong solutions. I think that is where paradigm needs to shift. Maybe its not about hurting the wrong agencies but helping the right ones. Forget about the now and focus on the future.
Who are the "right" ones ?

^^ I agree but tax law are different from country to country. Here camera EQ is deductable over 8 years! (linear curve). Respect on the H4d (60mp version?), my partner drools over that one

I am fairly certain they will be announcing a high MP camera before the end of March, they have to answer the D800. Whether they split it into two lines with the 5DX as well who knows, but all the rumors are pointing to a high MP camera.
The majority of the rumors I've read point to 22mp. Where are the ones that point to a high MP camera?
Hi there! Just rumours, nothing but rumours! the entire DPR-forum is full of it. My Canon rep, tells me there will be an updated 5dM2, thats just about it. Nikon, Canon, etc, dont give a about the micro market, its small fry, compared to the consumer market. The majority of micro shooters still dont need anything bigger then a 12 MP cam and if you stick a 45MP cam in their hands, they wouldnt know what to do with it.
For commissioned studio work, etc, I use an HD4 with the hioghest possible MP backs, along with this you have to invest in softwares for about 8 grand, computer upgrades for 5 grand. Majority of people dont even think of that.
Just curious, rent or own ?

I just got 19 cents for a photo on DP. It's a personal record for the least amount I've been paid for one. The race to the bottom heats up!
Do you think contributing your work to more than one agency is instrumental to this race? If every site has the exact same imagery, the only option for the agency to be competitive is to reduce its prices.
Bingo

This is not my fight at all as I am IS exclusive, but yet again I fail to understand how are SS any better when they are probably paying one of the worst commitions out there! (exept IS, for indys that is), not only is it so low, you don't even know how much!
If I was an agency I would simply lower all of you guys comissions and ssimply don't even let you know how much %%% you get! Thats what SS does and everybody seems to be happy with them...
What are you dribbling about? why do you time and time again keep syaing this? you know very well that its 0.38, subs, ODs are 2.85 and single sales are 5.75. Just the other day I clocked in 25, ODs, at 2.85 and 35 subs at 0.38 and one EL, at 28 bucks, so how in the bloody hell can it be the worst paying site? Or is it that you dont want to know?
I was talking about subs. percentage wise, on subs the comission is much lower then 123rf and even Thinkstock. I'm talking about percentage, yes ?

Here we go again! As I explained in more detail to someone stating the same on the previous page, it's all about the bottom line. They still earn a lot more than any other agency for the vast majority of contributors. I really don't care what's the RPD, if I get more of the money from them than from all other agencies combined. I wouldn't care if they were paying me 1c/sale. Still better than getting a 10$ but only 20% of those sales, or 1% or so like in the case of Alamy. I admit, I'd feel all nice and warm at the moment I'd get a 200$+ sale, but if they happen so rarely that the bottom line is pathetic compared to the one with 1c sales it doesn't really do me much good now, does it. Bragging rights don't buy you lunches
So if I understand you correctly, you don't really have a problem with 123rf's (for example) percentage, you real problem is that they don't earn you enough money, right ? According to your logic, the bigger the agency, the more percentage they are "permitted" to get, right ?

If what the poll does is simple avereges then the results will be heavly skewed (as can be seen already) towards IS since all exclusives will give some positive (and motsly high number) for IS and a 0 for the rest.
