Adobe is already changing image prices, setting them higher at least for the lower ranks.

One L sale was 7, now 8. A bronze X sale went from 50 to 60 and so on. Nice move!

It's just a matter of time before FT joins the Top 2.

IS will become the new member of the "DT club".

Comparing to january, I made less money on all agencies. SS was BME for downloads but less RPD.
Main difference was DT -80% after I opted out the google scam. Not that was much $$ before.

How are my sales? Who knows until PP comes next month...

When are we getting payed, wasn't it supposed to be on the 25th?

They should make a $ 0.39 rank after $ 30.000 that's the least they could do.

But as Mantis said above, they've got no reason to make that happen.

I was talking about these DT $ 2.00 sales but yes it was ambiguous.

Now tell me, has anybody ever got 2 of those sales from the same image?

123 just like DT and all the low earners are pressured with clients moving on to SS, and the only way they can compete is by lowering prices. Contributors should stop supporting these agencies as they do nothing but erode royalties and in the long run they will get less and less market share anyway, but with buyers getting used to the low prices.

Monday - Optimal day for sales but less exposure time because of more uploads.
Friday - Optimal day for exposure time because of less uploads, but also less sales.

Your choice.

Yes it's happening since yesterday, and images are taking longer to show up online.

They are probably fixing the multiple emails issue.

I have less than a 1000 images at FT and I'm at around position 3.000 in weekly ranking.
SS may have a bit more, like 4.000 active contributors with more than 1000 files.

The insane image volume is from factories and similars, not from excess of contributors.
If things get really bad, there will be less uploads. The market always balance itself.

I checked my new batch that was approved in the morning, but didn't receive any email (never happened before) and images don't appear online (it's been almost a full day). Something is messed up over there. Uploaded via browser.

Collection number is exponential now, but eventually the growth will flatten out in %. When there are 100 million images, 1 million images per week is only 1% growth. It will never be as easy as in 2005 but if you can do well with your new images today, it means you can survive when the collection doubles. Talented new contributors will thrive as they have more realistic expectations, on the other hand it'll be hard for veterans to get used to more realistic returns. Specially true for those who live in expensive countries.

That said, many of the new images are similars. I saw a set from a guy with the very same icons but in different positions, and it occupied about 7-8 whole pages of the "new" search. That's not going to sell well at all, but the problem is that your good images are buried instantly. To have exposure, your images must rank on top of the search and money will flow into your account. That's getting harder, but at least the number of buyers is increasing as well.

« on: February 04, 2015, 11:53 »
For me the wall is not running out of creativity, its financial.

Good point and why icebergs or beautiful people prancing about in Gucci don't feature in my port.

If I were brand new at this or any business though, I'd want someone to tell me not to be worrying about walls and focus on getting my pigs to market.

I don't disagree.  The Wall is not something a newbie need to worry about.  Aren't most newbies in it for fun?  I know I was.

Only when you been in 5 or 6 years or threreabouts that the wall is a problem, but when you do hit it, the funs over.

Well, kinda. It's far from a hobby to me. Sure, as a traveler I love the freedom and the sort-of passive income micro provides, and unlike a job you get to be creative and work whenever you want... but it's still work. If I'm putting all the effort to make this my prime income, I definitely want to know beforehand what to expect from this business. Thanks again for the replies.

If you think this is funny and you are more than 11 years old - something is wrong.

Not to demerit the guy's job, he must be a great advertiser to make this into global news.

« on: January 29, 2015, 10:54 »
I'm a fairly new contributor now reaching 1000 images. I'm doing micro full time and earnings are increasing at a decent rate, but I'm a little worried about the sustainability in the long run - I hear a lot about the wall, when despite uploading your earnings eventually stop growing, and stabilize/fall in the given time. Predictable, of course, with hundreds of thousands images entering every week, there's no way to keep up. I know experiences are different for each contributor and things change with time, but I would like to hear from all of you:

- How long did it take to reach the wall?

- Do you plan to keep uploading after reaching the wall?

- Have your earnings drop after hiting the wall or just stabilized?

- Have you ever overcome the wall (made the wall taller)?

I think it will be an interesting discussion for veterans and newbies alike.
Thanks for sharing your experience.

I still get the odd rejection now and then but reviews seem to be much more consistent than a few months ago.
