General Stock Discussion / site for celebrity pictures?« on: November 10, 2016, 19:09 »
when i was living in London i did a lot of the red carpet thing and i have many nice shots of some hollywood celebs.i put many of these images in DT becouse they have the option for celeb photos ,but i only sold 2 photos there.
so is there any other site out there apart from DT i can put these photos?.but without exclusivity. also can you post celeb pics in SS and Istock? 180

General Stock Discussion / Re: use stock photo in contests« on: October 21, 2016, 18:31 »
well i am, but no luck there.specially in gurushots most of the winning shots are the images that they d be rejected by agencies like ss and dt.Overfiltered or done by photoshop
but i guess its the kind of images people want to see and admire rather than a blant stock photo of a tree lol on the other hand what puzzles me bout these contest, if in the best case scenario you won then they want to take the rights and not be able to sell it.i ve read that in the rules of a contest in some site 182

General Stock Discussion / Re: Traveling to USA to shoot some stock« on: September 16, 2016, 18:53 »
when i visited ny 2 times i took loooooooooooooots of pictures and now most of them i put them in the agencies and nobody said anything hehe
the thing is when you will visit us you have to be really careful what you shoot. and how you are gonna photograph the subject. i ve seen many videos on youtube where photographers in ny mostly, they were harassed by police officers and now becouse of the whole terorrism paranoia things are very tight in taking photographs all the time, also you have to careful when you are doing street photography.Try to avoid to take photos of some certain buildings or even malls.and most of all do not take pics of people doing things unless you have a telefoto lens and you are shooting from a far distance also try to take pics in tourist places or try nature like sea sky or animals or even dogs or pets. 186
General Stock Discussion / Re: Pictures of graffiti« on: September 07, 2016, 18:10 »
i submitted images with some graffity on istock and they got rejected even as editorial becouse of the copyright issue.on the other hand last year i took part in a small exhibition and the theme was graffity but i guess it is different on a photo exhibition

if you go to the eyem site and upload the images from there they give you some keywords which you can change them if you want to and you can describe your photos
only if you upload from your cell then you cant keyword the image 190

New Sites - General / Re: eyeem and colourbox« on: March 20, 2016, 19:37 »
i used to upload to eyeem and i had 5 sales.but unfo many photos that they choose for the market they go through gettys market and that means they want exclusivity.so if you upload a sellable picture to eyemm it will be licenced through getty and you ll have to remove it from the other sites.
its a nice platform but with gettys exclusivity its a problem 197

General Stock Discussion / Re: do cruise ships (such as Carnival) have copyright protection?« on: February 17, 2016, 19:36 »
actually its funny that i saw this thread couse i got a rejection note from istock today becouse my pic had some ships in it in the background in the thames river in london.i didnt see any logos on the ships but still they saw it as a copyright thing.
so i guess the agencies are now picky when they review a picture with buildings in it or any other thing. just dont upload it and sell it somewhere else. 199
