Empty portfolios? How long does it take to get your images accepted into the catalog?
It varies with how many images are waiting for review....my experience is anywhere from a few hours to a few days. There may be some new contributors who are waiting for images to be deleted from other agencies before uploading since Stocksy is image exclusive....and that can take anywhere from a day or so to a few months.
I don't think this is what Stocksy want, to receive old content. I'm not very familiar and I'm still not in, but i think they looking for something new and original.

There's still room to select from applications already in the queue.

But I understand that accepting artists must go hand in hand with growth, you have to be able to feed them if you take them in.
I agree, but for sure there are a lot of lost sales, because in Stocksy have shortage of certain topics and images and this can be done from certain authors which have to be in Stocksy. I could be one of them

The majority is same as microstock photos but with a filter? Ok.
Forget the two dimensional thinking and try to find something outside the image like ideas, dynamics, depth, feelings and emotions...things like that

I would be more worried about what to shot and how to shoot, more worried about the ideas Sorry for the off topic

I know people in stocksy who earn 2 o 3 times more here than shutterstock.
... and I know folks that earn 10x more on IS than Stocksy??? PS: I'm not Istock admirer!
Could be correct to compare portfolios not people who earn money, and to compare image by image and sell by sell then to see the true But to me the real question now is what kind of photography would like to do. I'm trying to curate my shots before shooting on the way they to be like Stocksy curated. In the next years will come a huge Stocksy success and want to be there when it happens, also I want to be there on the way of this success

Ubermensch, looks like you try to do some kind of black PR against Stocksy, but there is no ground to develop this, because Stocksy pays one of the best commissions, there are great friendly and positive people, and a huge amount of creativity. Finally I hope nobody has put a gun to your forehead and to oblige you to go in Stocksy
No, was just commenting on how stocksy can just reject us "poor losers" on the fly like that. Seems fair to at least allow the proper apply, reject process privately on the site. Did brucey really need to publicly reject that tog? But let me ask you something Deyan my dear friend, if you have to pay bills and the world has a gun to your head, pay or die, would you accept this shoddy treatment from some rich wanker, offering everything but delivering nothing?
Let's clear that I also do apply to Stocksy and I wait already 14 weeks. It's too hard for me, but I know this is the situation and it's worth this time and concerns. I prefere to became a part of current Stocksy, not to be a part of Stocksy where can enter for two days everybody. I personally pay my bills just from microstock, because my microstock portfolio is a good sellable. I don't need Stocksy for to pay my bills, but to give me something more - creativity and inspiration Stocksy is a training course for everyone who just look their curated collection. If you are rejected this time, spend your time to create content like in the curated collection have and the next time you will be accepted(although with this mistreatment to them, I doubt). You have to respect all the team there who make Stocksy possible and bring this opportunity to you. Stocksy is not a pyramidal structure like other stock agencies, this is a community of valuable photographers and to me will be privilege to be there. I will not comment Sean(it's so clear who is he and what is his photography), but just to say he spend his time to give us some comments and helpful info about Stocksy. There are just a few people spending of their expensive time(Shean,Gillian, Cobalt...) to write here about Stocksy and please do not discourage them.

He is also one of the very few people on this forum who has both their real name as their user name and self portrait as his avatar. Kudos for being real!
Me too

Stocksy is a joke.
All that you need to do is compress the tonal range (less contrast, push the RGB curve up in the left bottom and down in the right top) and do split toning (blue in shadows, orange in highlights).
You do this and you'll get accepted.
Good luck in your next try.
Really? Is that what I've done?
Your great images Mark just show that Stocksy style is not so easy to define, but meantime is so simple and real

3 months waiting...i wrote to them and i had a reply....something like:
"blablbala we have many requests...."
We have to respect the Stocksy's reviewers, if we want to get in. Stocksy for me is not any other agency and I will wait as long as necessary, because I believe that the delay is because of the strong and complicated process.

Saludos

It is simple for me to respond:
1. 50% commition 2. No subscriptions 3. Good and expensive marketing 4. Prices $3 or high
P.S. All this is on second importance: "- How to upload images - As the pictures are shown - Loading speed - Simplicity - Assured that your pictures will not be sold on other sites without your consent - Payment and frequency . personalized attention, away from automatic processes - Specialization of the goal. I decided to upload 10 images just to say I support you, but the upload process is not difficult, but impossible and unnecessary complicated! Who will loose 10 sec per images to upload in new website, nobody for sure. I have 10K images and will not spend 28 hours for this upload In this days is obligatory automatic metadata extract and fast submission. Even category selection would stop me! And the contact address is very important for the trust.

Do you have a proper business address somewhere on your website? Where are you located? And maybe something about who you are, your team, the experience of your management? Do you have proper funding or are we uploading to a garage office
Thank you.
Very important point!
